Are you kidding? That made our DAY! So awesome. I wasn't sure if I could put it in the vlog, hence why it's not in there. But we loved it haha. And we enjoyed meeting you!
I always love to see people respond to the Droomvlucht because my grandfather has worked on the robotics behind the characters and their movements etc. Same for the Carnaval ride.
Love your attitude David, both in learning Dutch and how you went into this park. Some Americans compare it to Disney too much and don't enjoy it as much as you did. This video portrays the Efteling experience very well, thank you both!
The details is what makes the efteling so great. There is something to see everywhere, music is coming from all spots. Even the trash cans are made with creativity.
How on earth have you not been to the Efteling as a dutchie 😆. I've been there a lot since I live nearby so its fun to see how people see the park with new eyes
I also never went to the Efteling as a kid, it’s a very far drive (esp with kids in the car) if your live in the north. We went to Walibi Flevo / Six Flags / hoe het ook maar heet tegenwoordig. It was very fun for my friends when I finally went because they had seen it tons of times already and I was like 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 constantly.
Probably because it is SO expensive.....I love love love the Efteling, but with a family of 5 its really a lot of money. I totally understand why, because the park is beautiful and very clean, everything is so awesome there!
The thing I love the most about Villa Volta (the haunted house) is sitting opposite to foreigners and seeing the terror in their faces when they think they're about to go upside down. 🤣🤣🤣 A little trick if you get motion sickness: Focus on the two big mirrors on the side, they are stationary. 😇
I can’t believe you had never been to Efteling before 😮 I’m from Belgium and have been there several times, so I guess I kind of assumed all Dutch people must’ve been there at some point 😅 I wish my American husband would put the same effort into learning some Dutch like David has, chapeau 👍🏻
Seeing this, I felt both really excited and also about to cry. :") Excited, because I already know these rides well as a Dutchie, so I knew what was coming, and it also felt like reliving them again with you. About to cry, because it brought back all kinds of fond memories from my youth, going to the Efteling with my buddies and exploring every corner of the enormous park. My favorite time was when I went there in the winter, and the whole park was covered in a layer of snow. We ran around and threw snowballs at each other, and then warmed up with some hot 'poffertjes' (mini pancakes). Too bad you don't really see that type of scenery anymore... Anyway, thanks for sharing your trip, I'm glad you had fun!
Wow. The Efteling is the best ever. I grew up going to the Efteling and now I'm 32 years old I still go each year in summer and winter with my friends it has become a tradition. I love how you tried to speak Dutch.

I have such good memories of the Efteling... We didn't go that often, but when we did it was always a lot of fun. When we were young we just went to the fairytale forest and were completely tired out after that and when we were older went to more places... Interesting fact: the Efteling was actually an inspiration for Walt Disney.
Leuk om te zien ! ik woon al mijn hele leven in Nederland en ben nog nooit in de Efteling geweest. Dit filmpje heeft toch mijn mening veranderd dat ik het ook nooit hoefde te zien .
What you had in duinrel, i had in the winter efteling. First and last time I went to the efteling haha. It was also freezing wich made it even worse. We where there the whole day and had the time to go in only 3 ride´s and I only liked one of those 3😅. Most things where closed and we took the whole day waiting in lines for those 3 rides. I think it´s awesome that David talks Dutch to complete strangers there. I´m always to afraid to talk in another language, so I let others take the word😅
It's beautiful to see what the efteling looks like for people who have never been in the Efteling. I have a year ticket so it was really fun te watch. Love! :)
How nice to see the Efteling in this way. Your enthousiasm both was very nice to see. And David is actually talking very good in Dutch! Only to be met with the Brabantse accent" and still kinda keeping it together and get what he ordered! Nice!
Just happy you had a great time. I think it's still the best theme park in the world. That 'Bolle Jan' saying 'papier hier' has been there since I was a kid (I'm 59 now) and was actually a very early view on not littering and even recycling as in make it fun to throw your trash in the appropriate place. With all the great things to do and experience there my favorite is still the King Troll in the tree in the fairy tail forest. If you step on the stone the Troll King starts talking but nobody understands what he's saying but are still listening. Keep in mind that this Troll King has been around way before any movie about trolls were made. So I think The Efteling has been an inspiration for so many people but most important for kids fantasy. But aren't we all still kids?

The, very old, Dream Flight was built in 1993 but is still one of the main attractions of the Efteling. You're actually lucky to have entered the Villa Volta, it is (was?) 'cursed' with mechanical breakdowns over the years. There is so much more to see but tbf, you've seen quite some of the big rides. You may want to consider staying a night (or two) in the hotel to discover all the little nooks and crannies with its hidden fairy tales. I like sitting on the steam train, the rocking ship (sit at the very end) and the red tapping shoes. There's also a 'Winter Efteling' when everything gets snow and ice themed, during winter. Also a must see!

You taught David well with the kibbeling. He did it!
I've been to the Efteling several times and never encountered any more serious problem with Villa Volta than a long waiting line.
