I go there every month, I’m there this sunday. And fyi calling our precious Efteling “Dutch Disneyland” is wrong in 200 languages, and very insulting to the fans and creators (including Anthon Pieck). In fact, Disneyland took inspiration from the Efteling. NOT the other way around. So just call it “The Efteling, the world of wonders” because that’s the slogan
Well as regular of the Efteling, I think it is way better then Magic Kingdom but Animal Kingdom with Pandora or Diagon Alley at Universal are still better imho. And I would still choose World show case over an evening to the Efteling. Miss the summer festivals the Efteling park had in the past. Great video! :)
I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit at the Efteling. To offer you a bit of context, the Efteling is a trans-generational experience. Often you see grandparents, parents and childeren visiting the park at the same time because as Dutch people we’ve all spend some time of our childhood over there. Some of the rides/venues appear dated but that’s the appeal because I’ve walked the park there eversince I was 5 and now I’m 51 walking the same park and sitting in the same rides with my 10 year old daughter. For me it’s a powerfull experience. The Efteling is not a “wham bam thank you ‘mam” park, you go there to connect with your younger self, connect with childhood. The fairytale forrest is on the surface a bit cheesy but that’s the first place we went to when I was a kid, and I’m gratefull the Efteling left it as it is. To the Dutch the Efteling is an institition. As a family you just have to have eaten “krentebollen” in the floating swans in the swanlake. All the best!
The trans-generational aspect is very interesting indeed. Everytime I go on a ride in the Python or Piraña I remember me doing that as a small terrified child with my mother and grandparents (wanting to rebuild it in Lego afterwards). It's been 40 years and I can go on the same ride as in the early 1980s. It's amazingly timeless.
I live in Tilburg, about a 15 minute drive to Efteling. As far as i know my family has been in love with the park ever since it was build. I remember my mom telling stories about how my grandpa would spend the whole day just sitting in the big courtyard garden just past the entrance or strolling about the park. That would always make his day
I am Belgian (next to the netherlands) and I absolutely love watching videos of more foreign people discovering this magical themepark. I've been going here every year since I was 1 year old And I love watching new people enjoy it!!! Great video! :)
I loved seeing this! i actually live 30 mins away from this beautiful place and actually worked at the work. To explain why everyone was singing along at the aquanoura show is because that was the show version of the most popular artist from brabant called guus meeuwis and basically everyone in the netherlands knows his classics. Glad you guys had fun!
It must be an amazing place to work. such a magical park. Thank you so much for the context on people singing. It was amazing to experience and you could tell that everyone knew the songs. Very unique and something we haven't really experienced at a park before. Thanks for watching :)
I also work at the Efteling and it really is magical and amazing to work there. I am so glad i started working there. Glad to see you enjoyed your trip to the Efteling!
I've always wondered how it is to live so close by the Efteling (i live like 1.5 hour away by train) like do you notice it much or is it just like living in any other city
by far the best part about the Efteling is the music! The songs on these rides carry the magical theming so incredibly well. My favourite has to be the Villa Volta song
I just love how the Efteling is fun for the whole family. That's probably why you felt relaxed there. It's not just for the kids, but for you to enjoy and have a break as well.
Personally I don't know anyone that has NOT been to de Efteling. It is the absolute QUEEN of themeparks in the Netherlands. It has been the #1 destination when it comes to parks and attractions for decades. Disney doesn't come close to this. Sure... it has great rides and famous characters, it doesn't have the "gezelligheid" the Efteling has (I am sure you heard about the word Gezellig which can mean a lot of things but without exception pointing to comfort, friends, happy times and love)
I went to Disney for the first time last year, and while Disney is really good too, Efteling is much better value for your money, especially if you're from the Netherlands
Unfortunately, as a Dutchie i have never been to the Efteling :'), first of all there is no money to buy tickets and second, not one of my friends wants to go there :')
Hey! I work in the pancake restaurant and I helped you with the magical water, I recognized you on my UA-cam home page! Very fun video! Greetings from Holland:)
I am happy for you that it wasn't a busy day, I went there myself a few years ago with my parents, and we had to wait an hour or more to get into one attraction. I myself live about one and a half hour away from the Efteling. And to everyone who's watching: if you're planning to visit the Netherlands, I HIGHLY recommend going to the Efteling, even if you're an adult without any kids. I hope you guys had an amazing time at the Efteling
as a dutch person who has been to efteling many times, its so cool to see other europeans loving the efteling.. your excitment is fun to watch.!! you got to love that magical lore.. !!!
Dutch traditional snack Chimney Cake? Now that you mention it I never ever heard of that. I have looked it up, it is actually Hungarian. 😂😂 I am dutch, so it was suprising how people can mix up cultural Standards because of how unknown they are to traditions. On the positive note, I absolutely love your review on our themepark, I love Efteling.
The chimney cake has found it's way in a number of surrounding countries, notably Czech Republic and Slovakia. They're usually pretty bad and in cities like Prague and Bratislava you'll thus find street waste baskets literally filled to above the rim with those things during tourist season. I can't remember having seen chimney cakes in Efteling before, my guess is that they are part of the winter theme (probably from the baker opposite of Max & Moritz?) which will end first week of March.
Im dutch and went there a few times as a kid. The efteling in like a given ingrained in dutch culture but to see you guys with another fresh perspective makes it pretty special and magical again. Great vid and love the happiness you project!
You 'accidentally' saw an Aquanura Exclusive show, which was made for a Dutch artist called ‘Guus Meeuwis’. They made that show because he was an artist for 25 years. They usually play a show without vocals with music of different rides from the park!
Droomvlucht had just been open for a few days since I last visited, 25 years ago.. I have been watching this video on the edge of my seat, I was so excited to see the Efteling again! Thanks for making this beautiful vlog♥Efteling is still as magical as I remember and it was 'Awesome' to see some of the new additions which I haven't seen yet. Your son is clearly right about that! 😄
This makes my little Dutch heart jump with joy! I'm so happy you shared our magical theme park with the rest of the world! Dankjewel! Much love from the Netherlands! ❤❤
I always love seeing first time reactions to the park! Shame you missed out on quite a few attractions, but I guess y'all had an amazing time regardless. I LOVE getting in night rides on the coasters, they're even more magical in the dark!
We’ve just got back to the UK from a 3 day trip to Efteling, the first time we’ve been. Wow. I can’t believe how amazing it was. The whole family have been blown away. Truly magical.
Nice to see. This park holds a very special place in my heart. If you loved the landscaping, I would definitely recommend coming back in summer when everything is green and all the flowers and plants are blooming. There's also quite a bit of construction going on now, which is a shame. Definitely come back when the new entrance area and haunted castle are done!
We’d love to see the park in the spring/summer. Although there was some construction it didn’t seem to bad as they were working on it during the weekend. We’ll be back when all the changes are made for sure ☺️
@@TheKershawsAdventures keep in mind that in the summer it's not only packed with people (waiting lines longer than an hour) but also with wasps! Better come back in spring. I loved your video. It was really nice to also see some new things, like the golden men 🤗
A lot has changed at Efteling since my Mother and I were there almost 30 years ago; I have to admit that we were children again for the whole day, riding the Droomvlucht more times than I care to admit! The animatronics and the rides were something spectacular, even back then, and the Park seems only to have got bigger, better and more magical!
Your son's reaction to everything was absolutely precious, I remember when i was a kid that I also spent a lot of time at the playground stuff there. More themeparks should just add playground stuff, such an easy way to entertain the kids
As a 61 year old Dutch woman I have never ever heard of a "traditional snack"Chimneycake and looking like that! And I want to know...WHY NOT??? It looks delicious
I am dutch too. I go with my kids twice a year. You should come back in July or August. For Summer Efteling. Now you went to Winterefteling. Summer Efteling is on every square music. So nice. So come back. Efteling is also open till about midnight
as a dutch person it always is so fun watching people from other countrys go to specifically this theme park, i have been there with my family and it just so fun
Its a national treasure, my parents came there as kids, i go almost every year, my kids go there with their kids. Its fun every time all ages. If you visit the Netherlands, this is a must see !!
I loved watching this, seeing people enjoy the Efteling for the first time! I live only 15 minutes away so I had an annual pass for so many years I basically grew up there!
As someone who was born and raised in the region (its a 30 min ride to the Efteling), its safe to say this park is grained into my dna 🙂 Nothing but love and 40 years of memories ❤️
Fun fact about Oliebollen en donets. When the Dutch came to the USA there was a shortage of oil so they made a hole in the oliebol so they used less oil to make them. These were the first donets.
Childhood memories came back watching this. I enjoyed watching this almost as much as you did making it. A lot of fun you had and me too. Again. Need to go back one of these years.
I guess your little man slept well, after this great adventure. For me as a Dutch person, the Efteling is the most beautiful theme park in The Netherlands.
I'm Dutch myself and loved watching this video, it was very interesting to see people from another country expierence this Dutch themepark and I really enjoyed your reactions to it. Personally I live closer to another great themepark in the Netherlands called Toverland, you should visit it sometime if u can! I'd love to see your reaction to it because i've been there more times than Efteling so it holds a special place in my heart.
If you ever want to return to the Efteling and see Raveleijn, there should be headphones with audio translations available if you ask the staff at the gate!
Used to work as a janitor in the park when i was 16 years old, its amazing to hear the music all the time and see happy children! The park is beautiful without a doubt, and i had quite a few adventures myself despite working there for short (drama with my team leaders. Whoops). Telling germans about Ravelijn WITHOUT using words, making family pictures, joking around with the other employees.. and sadly, also calling security and medics a lot of time, especially in the summer. Still though, it was a job with a lot of variety! Never thought being a janitor could be this much fun, but when working in a park like the efteling? Its great!! I’ve visited the park since day 1 and never skipped a year, seen it over 100 times and still get amazed. I’d recommend people to look into the history, as the efteling is quite unique!
Actually I live next doors to the Efteling in Kaatsheuvel and I grew up with this park. For us it was normal to go to the Efteling every wednesday afternoon. I can actually hear the train from my backyard, sometimes even Joris en the draak and every evening the sky is lit up and I hear the aquanuara music. It is so Nice to see it from a different perspective. Glad you had fun!
your little one reminds me of my nephew I remember when he was 7 we would watch TV he would be on my lap and fondle behind my ear 10 minutes later we were both vast asleep!
I love the video!! I’m a pashouder and the Aquanura show you have seen is with music from a Dutch singer! That is my favorite show! I go to the Efteling almost every week and it’s still a magical experience!! Lovely to see that you are having so much fun!!😍😍♥️♥️♥️
The old faisond playground, just outside Laafland, is actually the oldest part of the Themepark. It all started when Anton Piek designed some of the fairytales in Sprookjesland next to the already existing playground in Natuurpark De Efteling. The first entrance was just before Sneeuwwitje. Later, when the Efteling grew larger than just Sprookjesland and the playground, the entrance used to be somewhere in between were now Droomvlucht and Villa Volta are. So the beatifull park before Villa Vilta used to be the entrancepark. When I was a kid (from the age of 14 to 20) I had a summer "abonnement". We went to the Efteling once and sometine three times a week. Since then there are a lot of new things developed. But you still see the Anton-Piek-style in all parts of the park, to houner one of the founding fathers forever
@@TheKershawsAdventures Also just another tip! If you go to the Efteling around the summer holidays the park is opened until 22:00! I usually go around that time because then you get to do more
glad you enjoyed it. I never heard of it before and at first glimpse it looked fantastic. looked very green with still enough things to be entertained. and that huge smile on anj's face at the end says it all :D
And you get to take your own food into the park! That's going Dutch on Efteling! BTW to experience the best magical forest vibes you should plan your visit to Efteling in late spring or summer!
Wow! What a day. I mean… a donkey that poops gold coins!!! 🤣🙌 Looks like you had an amazing time and Ollie… I spotted those hands up on the coaster buddy… good job 😎
I absolutely love the vibe you guys have 🥰 Definitely going to subscribe! The Efteling is my absolute favourite place in the world. I am glad you had a fun day! I was happy to see you also went to the Lavelaar! Its one of my fave places in the park, together with the fairytale forest. Droomvlucht is my absolute fave. Too bad it was closed! I reccomend you come back for it 🥰 It’s a beautiful darkride! Thank you for the amazing vlog!
What a lovely review. Thank you. I only live about a 15 minute busdrivw from de Efteling and I'm a pass holder, in a little over a week I'm going again. Looking forward to that. Sore feet at the end, but well worth it every time ❤️☺️
The fairytale forest is mostly filled with tales from the Brothers Grimm. A lot of them are pretty dark and gritty really. Longneck, however, is taken from the Tales of the Baron of Munchhausen. He basically tells the story over and over. If you had visited in the warmer times, if they still do it, the plaza with the fountains with the frogs and such have multicoloured pidgeons you can get pidgeonfood for. Man... I got memories of that place when it was mostly just a giant picknick meadow, a playground and the fairytale forest, with just a few larger rides around it.
What a amazing video! I love the efteling. The watershow was a special one with a Dutch singer Guus Meeuwis from tilburg. That’s why everybody sings the songs. The normal versions is with music from the Efteling. You should come back for the droomvlucht my favorite attraction in the efteling. Hope you come back some time!
I loved Ravelijn as a kid. It used to be a series on dutch television too which showed the more in depth story, but the show at Efteling is also really good (it's just a short version)! I really hope I can go back to Efteling soon 💕
What do you think of Efteling? Are you planning a trip? (Don’t forget to like the video 😉)
it is a pity that the dream flight (droomvlucht) is in maintenance it is as good as Symbolica for its age but now you have good reasons to come back
i'm there 2/3 times in a week xD
at the show ravelijn you can ask employees for a translation box with earphones, the show is translated into your language
Fun fact. The entrance, is the biggest wooden roof in europe.

Its such a shame it was closed. whilst we were there. Definitely need to come back to be able to experience it in the future.
@@TheKershawsAdventures yeah it's such a shame. it is widely regarded as the best attraction of the entire park
@@TheKershawsAdventures After 20 years it will now be closed for 4 months for proper maintenance and a fresh up so it can last another 20.

Lol, yep, eating lunch there or in the little boats.that ride is about 20 minutes? Enough time to eat your lunch☺️

The best attraction doesn’t exist anymore but it was an epic Bob sled
Ti's was such a fun trip to go on with you. Was sitting here just smiling, because you were so enjoying yourselves ❤
We really did enjoy ourselves on this trip and can't wait to go back soon.
As a Dutchie, I loveee the Efteling. Im glad you guys had fun!
I live in the Netherlands I love the Efteling I was there a few days ago
I'm Dutch myself and loved watching this video, it was very interesting to see people from another country expierence this Dutch themepark and I really enjoyed your reactions to it. Personally I live closer to another great themepark in the Netherlands called Toverland, you should visit it sometime if u can! I'd love to see your reaction to it because i've been there more times than Efteling so it holds a special place in my heart.
If you ever want to return to the Efteling and see Raveleijn, there should be headphones with audio translations available if you ask the staff at the gate!
The Efteling is always super extra with everything 😂 Thank you for visiting my home country, The Netherlands. I hope you enjoyed it 😁
Its so fun to see your kid enjoy the best themepark our country has to offer
First time I have heard of this place. Looks like loads of fun!
It’s so good, we heard about it a few years back and finally decided to give it a visit 😄
I lived at cycling distance from this park and visited often on quiet days. Happy to see you guys enjoy your first Efteling experience!
I go in december, and i love it ❤
Thanks for the heads up on sun down adventureland. Never heard of it but it seems like a great place 4 my toddler!
It’s a super cute park for little ones 😊
Wow that must be amazing being so close to the park. You are very lucky
your little one reminds me of my nephew I remember when he was 7 we would watch TV he would be on my lap and fondle behind my ear 10 minutes later we were both vast asleep!
Had the best time in here with my friends. All high as a kite 😁
The whole place is mesmerizing no matter your age
I can imagine that would have been a memorable trip 😂
Great vlog. After watching, my boys are begging me to take them (even just for the bins!)
How good are the bins!!! I’m so surprised more parks haven’t borrowed the idea 😆
I love the video!! I’m a pashouder and the Aquanura show you have seen is with music from a Dutch singer! That is my favorite show! I go to the Efteling almost every week and it’s still a magical experience!! Lovely to see that you are having so much fun!!😍😍♥️♥️♥️
It's a really very interesting park i love it. I was there 100 themes there. It's a really very cool park.i love efteling
I love this video. I go to Efteling every year at least once. I love it and seeing your perspective is awesome. Definitely go again for droomvlucht
Thank you! we hope to go back soon to go on droomclucht!
Hi guys I’m a massive fan of the channel I saw you guys at the national history museum today keep up the great work 😊👍🏼
You might have seen me by the exit holding a lollipop. I wanted to say hi but I was to shy 🤦♂️
That vlog will be coming soon! 😄
Thank for replying I will be sure to watch the vlog
Amazing, its been great to find out more about this magical park.
It’s a delight to share your obvious enthusiasm. You’re a great family 😊.
I love the Efteling! Its amazing:) Definitely recommend Villa Volta, Droomvlucht and Sirocco if you go there again!
Thanks for the tips! There were a few shut whilst we were there and a couple we didnt get time for but will be back to do them again 😄
@@TheKershawsAdventures Also just another tip! If you go to the Efteling around the summer holidays the park is opened until 22:00! I usually go around that time because then you get to do more
Amazing, magical and beautiful park ❤

Hope you have an amazing time! the park is stunning
And you get to take your own food into the park! That's going Dutch on Efteling!

De Efteling is een super leuke attractiepark ❤! I love it
Amazing vlog. I loved this very much.
Just want to go now :)
Thanks Tracy 😄 we will hopefully help you out with that new week 😄 a planning guide is coming!!
I was kinda scared of that entrance building when i was young
Het is geweldig vooral Droomvlucht
It was closed for refurb when we visited, hope to visit again one day to ride it!
What a lovely review. Thank you. I only live about a 15 minute busdrivw from de Efteling and I'm a pass holder, in a little over a week I'm going again. Looking forward to that. Sore feet at the end, but well worth it every time ❤️☺️
Been here so many times, but just told my friend to plan another day to visit the Efteling again this year.
never got bored 25 minutes of fun , im glad you had fun here with your family , props for the editting
We are planning on coming back to finish the rides and attractions we missed last time. hopefully soon :)
i am going with a friend from america in less than a week! sooo excited to show him this.
I loved Ravelijn as a kid. It used to be a series on dutch television too which showed the more in depth story, but the show at Efteling is also really good (it's just a short version)! I really hope I can go back to Efteling soon 💕
I am Dutch and i come there every vacation
