We got back from Efteling yesterday (1st September) and we absolutely loved it. Thank you for all the information you did on your vlogs, you told us so much and things to look out for and to try. We did Max and Moritz loads as I was able to do that. My daughter had a fantastic 16th birthday as we went and had the very big pancakes. If I hadn't seen your vlogs I wouldn't of seen or done half of the things that were there. So thank you so much. Yes, we will be going again.

many people dont know there are magical things u can do with the wand of pardoes if u buy 1 there are many interactions u can do in the park that others cant do if they dont have that wand of pardoes
Martyn had the biggest smile on his face... I think Martyn in the Anglified version of the Dutch name "Martijn". I love the Efteling but you I only go once every few years. Glad you guys enjoyed it so much, for us it's a staple (doe snot take anything away from the magic) and a bit of Dutch pride. The park is built with heart first and commercial second and true to it's founder they keep to the rule that everything has to be build authentic. So every building is an actual sound building no plastic shells.
We couldn't help but have smiles on our faces. The park was truly incredible. It's really special. We hope to return to it in the future as it made such an impression on us. Thank you for watching 😀 x
@@sohelenaandmartyn Yeah, me too. The live show is quite new so I haven't seen it yet either. It's only recently that they have been really seriously diving into the whole Pardoes lore too. I think it was after the Potter movies. Tip: See if you can buy the Pardoes scepter in one of the gift stores. You can use it on special little pedestals all over the park, in restaurants, and rides to trigger all kinds of "magic" things to happen. :)
It's crazy to think how this park has grown. When my parents were young, there was still the Pegasus, instead of Joris en de Draak. But as a 16 year old Dutch boy I will forever remember the Bob (replaced by Max en Moritz), De Vliegende Hollander (mostly changed), Monsieur Cannibale (replaced by Sirocco), the old Raveleijn show, Pandadroom (replaced by Fabula) and the Spookslot (replaced by Danse Macabre). And those are just the big ones, many more have been removed or replaced. Don't get me wrong, the new versions are great, but hey nostalgia. But I am also proud of how Efteling handles everything and maintains the park continuously. Python has been renovated, Droomvlucht looks great again plus much more. And I wonder how they will do with the Fata Morgana and the Piranha. Anyway, this video was great, and I love seeing foreigners visit our beautiful park! (I now suddenly realize that this video was recorded on the day I was here with a friend!)

I visited Efteling once maybe 40 years ago. I'd love to go again. I live in Germany and it's not too far by train. I am not allowed to drive, therefore I rely on public transportation.

A nice little thing about the scepter from Symbolica that you can buy: They are interactive, there are sort of golden statues that you can use the scepter on to interact with various little things in the park, such as the giant treasure chest and the oven in restaurant of Pole's kitchen to name a few. Maybe you knew already but Symbolica and like the whole story of Pardoes and his twinkle torch is made in to a serie which was on tv in i think it was 2012. Summary: Symbolica, the kingdom of fantasy, is in danger. Pantagor wants to steal AL fantasy the source of all magic. Pardoes is the only one who can stop him. Pardoes and Pardijn are in love and Pardijn helps Pardoes to save Symbolica. Together they save symbolica and as a sort of trophy/weapon against pantagor Pardoes gets the Twinkle Torch. this is a SPEED summary but i definitly recommend to watch it. Im not sure if there is a English dub, but im sure there are subtitles :D
Oh and if you want any other story summary in English from the Efteling let me know. The storys are amazing and i love to share the story to more people :D

Since you asked, "pardijn" the ij (only in this combination of "ij") (btw also when "ei" are combined) are both pronounced as the "i" in for example "line". So words as lijn, fijn, wijn (and trein, gein etc) are all with the "i" in "line" or the i in "wine". Looking forward to the other video's! Hiya 😊 the drive using WAZE app said 3 hrs 15 minutes from Calais. We stopped twice I think so we allowed 4. Depends how long you can go without stopping. There were no border checks and no tolls on the route it took us. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching x

Fun fact, or well.. not actually fun but the quill at the entrance only stopped writing once… when the park had to close during covid 😢. Absolutely loved this vlog already! The giggles on max and moritz are amaxing😂 I still have this after being on it for 7392929 times haha. Oh and watching non Dutch people getting a snack out of the wall is just the best thing ever hahah.
Hahaha we were so intrigued by the snack vending machines, couldn’t believe they were like mini ovens. So cool!! Great fact about the quill, so glad it’s now back writing again 🥰 Martyn couldn’t resist the giggles, especially the second time round when it speeds up haha, such a fun ride!! Xxx
The reasoning of the Efteling park is you want to come back for nostalgic reasons, they are counting you'll come at least 5 times-ish, once in your pre-teens, once in your teens, once when raging puberty hits, once as a parent & once as a grand-parent. (This also why almost never throw something away, and it ends up in the museum or re-used in an other attraction) Fun fact: That 11% you're talking about, that's the maximum land usage of the park, if they use more than 11% of the land for rides, shops etc. they loose their nature park status.

Efteling is great, though I find people hype it up far too much for what it is, which can leave people feeling disappointed. It's beautiful but I find a lot of the rides are overly dated, like walking in to 1970s Disneyland, which might be a draw for some people.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the parks. Thought there was a nice mix of old and new. I think a few things had been recently refurbished. We would definitely love to return in the future to try the different seasons. Thank you for watching 😊 x

The food vending wall is actually a Dutch thing, not an Efteling thing. You'll find those all over the Netherlands. Febo is a famous chain of them.

Pardoes and Pardijn are in love and Pardijn helps Pardoes to save Symbolica. Together they save symbolica and as a sort of trophy/weapon against pantagor Pardoes gets the Twinkle Torch.

Efteling is not just 11% rides. They are only aloud to build 11% of their land. They always have to keep the other 89% green. So Efteling is originally a nature park

Since you asked, "pardijn" the ij (only in this combination of "ij") (btw also when "ei" are combined) are both pronounced as the "i" in for example "line". So words as lijn, fijn, wijn (and trein, gein etc) are all with the "i" in "line" or the i in "wine". Looking forward to the other video's! Hiya 😊 the drive using WAZE app said 3 hrs 15 minutes from Calais. We stopped twice I think so we allowed 4. Depends how long you can go without stopping. There were no border checks and no tolls on the route it took us. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching x

Fun fact, or well.. not actually fun but the quill at the entrance only stopped writing once… when the park had to close during covid 😢. Absolutely loved this vlog already! The giggles on max and moritz are amaxing😂 I still have this after being on it for 7392929 times haha. Oh and watching non Dutch people getting a snack out of the wall is just the best thing ever hahah.

The reasoning of the Efteling park is you want to come back for nostalgic reasons, they are counting you'll come at least 5 times-ish, once in your pre-teens, once in your teens, once when raging puberty hits, once as a parent & once as a grand-parent. (This also why almost never throw something away, and it ends up in the museum or re-used in an other attraction)
Fun fact: That 11% you're talking about, that's the maximum land usage of the park, if they use more than 11% of the land for rides, shops etc. they loose their nature park status.

Efteling is great, though I find people hype it up far too much for what it is, which can leave people feeling disappointed. It's beautiful but I find a lot of the rides are overly dated, like walking in to 1970s Disneyland, which might be a draw for some people.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the parks. Thought there was a nice mix of old and new. I think a few things had been recently refurbished. We would definitely love to return in the future to try the different seasons. Thank you for watching 😊 x
