After watching loads of UA-cam "gurus" and then Lisa, WOW. What a difference. You can definitely tell who the professional is. She isn't "absolutely literally OBSESSED" with everything. Veey refreshing.
LuLu Renee I KNOW what you mean! And funnily enough, watching Lisa's videos actually makes me more content about what I have then other gurus. With other gurus, I feel that there's always this pressing need to buy a new product because they make it seem as though its ONLY with those products that they are absolutely obsessed with can your life change to become more beautiful than it was before. And yes, I know that they always state that you can substitute these with cheaper products, but I mean, its clear from their faces that they don't believe that statement a 100% most of the time. With them, its the product. With Lisa, its the technique and touch. She doesn't need fabulous products to do a breathtaking piece of work. Similarly, she inspires me to believe that I can too as well.
+LuLu Renee - I could have written that comment myself! It's so true. It's a breath of fresh air watching a sensible adult MUA who knows what she's talking about and isn't trying to peddle anything.
Whenver Lisa talks, you can see she really does have passion for makeup. She's not just slapping it on trying to cover everything, she works with the face and takes time to see what will make you the most beautiful version of you. It really is great to watch.
It was an amazing holiday gift to see a video pop up from you and this one was wonderful! I love how you tell the story of the person's "makeup life" and product / technique history. There's just nothing like what you do. Hope to see more from you in 2015! Happy Holidays to the woman who truly changed a huge part of my life in 2014. THANK YOU!
While I was watching this video, I realized I've watched you for more than 3 years now. Wow. Time flies! I even remember writing an essay inspired by your makeup history videos for my English "finals" during my freshman year of high school (teacher was totally impressed by the history of makeup btw ;3). And now it's been months since I've graduated from high school. These types of videos are some of my favorites
Amy, what a wonderful comment. Im sorry to hear you had such a tough time but so happy to hear that my passion for the history of make-up rubbed off on you in such a positive way. Thrilled to hear you are feeling inspired and happy again. Much love Lisa X
I was like, oh what are you forgetting Lisa?, and she goes, THE DIAMONDS! and appeared looking like a GODDESS. I mean... I'm like... I just... I can't even right now...
lisa, i love your videos because of the attention to detail and the process. youtube is like a school in many ways and you're my absolute favorite teacher! thank you for sharing the knowledge and have a great year!
!!!!!!! Today is my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present! Two of my favorite things: Lisa Eldridge and Audrey Hepburn :) Thank you so much Lisa. You really made my day xx
I love it when u talk about the history of makeup, the makeup artists from this time and were makeup comes from etc. and I can c that u really enjoy it too. Thx for ur videos lisa, I dont know u personally but I think I have a soulsister in u when it comes to the passion of makeup. xxx
Hi Lisa, for the first time ever I put eyeliner on with a flick at the corners today (I'm 42 and a bit late to the party lol) and I loved it. I always thought it wouldn't suit me but after watching your tutorials I actually got out my untouched Naked 2 palette and my eyeliner and had fun with make up. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos :-)) xxxx
You speak in a low comforting tone, explaining everything clearly - you don't blab, you just flow. You are a great makeup artist and also a marvelous youtube teacher. This is a true tutorial. Thank you for your hard work and for sharing with us.
I think I understood what I like so much in watching this artist.. it is the fact that she worships what she does so much and all that Happiness she generates in herself is transferred to us
I just watched Nikkitutorials (?) and I can't believe how much make up she has got on her face? Then I watched you and omg, you are so beautiful, without make up too. it just looks so natural!
ikr. She wears so much. I used to take her seriously because she seemed to wear less and knowledgeable but in real life outside she wld look like a clown
+Maria Nikki does overdo foundation, concealer and contouring. I think she's always aiming for the "airbrush effect" which can get really tacky sometimes.
"Hope you like the look?" I looooove it lol. Merry Christmas to you in advance and thank you for all your great tips and amazing video. I know my Christmas and New Years Eve are going to be amazing thanks to you :-) Bisous de Paris !
Lisa with false eyelashes: I'm going to just drop them on and it'll be flawless. Me with false eyelashed: I'm going to just drop them on- aaand now they are glued to the top of my eyelid, great.
Lisa Eldridge WOW this is spot on! It's actually amazing how you are able to change your eye shape from one video to another. I have a BIG request...could you please do a post or a video on all the movies that you watch for makeup and fashion inspiration?
You are the first makeup artist and I mean that for real not some wanna be self proclaimed beauty guru....that I have ever seen to turn such natural makeup and techniques and they are truly stunning and beautiful!!! I, too am a makeup artist. I think ppl can tell who is real and who is obsessed with playing with makeup and wearing it SUPER clown makeup heavy all the time!!! You and Wayne Goss are a breathe of fresh air for me! I had to pick one for each gender:) thank you thank you!! Also one more thing, I love how you use other models to do tutorials because our faces aren't going to looks amazing with every single different look, so you are smart to find someone that fits your vision of what the makeup should look like! Again a sign of a true professional! I do the same...what you look amazing in could look terrible on me:) Love you and your work!! xx
+Komerican10 yes lisa and wayne goss are just soooo talented. they rly create beauty. they really care about looking "naturally chic" and i think that is what makeup is all about
I love your makeup tutorials - They never fail to be interesting from start to finish with no big lavish show. All the tiny details you notice and incorporate so elegantly, especially in the looks based off of time periods or specific people where you combine the actual history into it. Seriously, the quite essential elegant woman, and one of the best makeup artists I have had the pleasure to come across.
It's always a privilege to watch her work. We're seeing a master here. She's able to transform her look to match her peg without losing her own unique style and beauty. She honors all these classic icons with each of her videos and I can't wait to see what she does next :) I think I would die a happy lady if I had my makeup done by Ms. Lisa Eldridge one day! Sigh, dreams!
this is sooooo gorgeous. i love that you can do a full face of makeup without it looking heavy or cakey. and i'm totally going out to buy this lipstick tomorrow, lol.
That eye look is perfect on her. Every Audrey look she's done makes me envious of how beautiful the eye make up looks on her. By far my favourite beauty videos on youtube.!
Wow! I love Audrey, she is such an inspiring woman...like you! She was not just an actress as well as you are not just a make-up artist to us. You show us how we should do things we are passionate about: with love, wish to share, attention to detail and enthusiasm. Thank you, Lisa! (and Audrey)
:-O oops. Detrimental = harmful, right? Instrumental? Contributory? Helpful? Crucial? Indispensable? 😜 Just some friendly teasing, of course. We all understood what you meant! 😄 Lisa has really helped me learn to improve my makeup skills too! She is the absolute best
Wow..... The before and after!! That red lip! The DIAMONDS!! You look stunning Lisa! And the way you explain what you're doing (the brows, for example) is just so easy to follow and understand. I can watch tutorials all day and think "yeah ok.... That'll be the day I pull that off!" But EVERYTIME I watch your tutorials I think "oh yeah. I can sooooo do this! I've got this. Lisa taught me!" Haha! Thank you for sharing this stunning look! And Merry Christmas!! 😘😘😘
The thumbnail of this looks like a grown up version of Moonchild (The Childlike Empress) from The Never Ending Story! (aka you're beautiful) Also listening to you is so informative! I love your passion for makeup.
This is just incredible! A true 50s makeup course with makeup history, techniques... All this in less than 15 minutes! You're absolutely amazing, Lisa! And of course, you look stunning with this look (and this diamonds, OMG)!
It's like watching Audrey on screen. You are a true genius artist Lisa, and your videos give me so much joy. I'm still holding out for you and Mary Greenwell to do each others' make up though xxx
Oh my God Lisa you are so beautiful and this look made me realize it even more! I mean I always knew that you were a beautiful, classy and talented woman but this look is everything. You look like a movie star. It's actually breathtaking. I can't remember the last time I was in awe of someone's beauty like I am of yours right now. stunning :) Hugs from Poland!
It is such a pleasure to see someone pay such care and attention to their craft! You and and Audrey have different types of gorgeousness but you share the same effortless elegance!
... Always so insightful, beautifully articulate and with those gentle stories I love your work... It comes across as professional without the 'me, me' vanity of many of the others... Thankyou for representing this as an artform.
Beautiful! but I loved the background and makeup history even more. It would be a fun mini series to do some of the famous stars of the past along with your knowledge of how makeup changed thru the decades.
I love that you talk about the history of makeup and when you do looks like this you research what the makeup artists actually did and what products they used, and why! It's so insightful and I've learned so much about my trade thanks to your knowledge.
Oh Lisa! It was such a joy to see that you have outshone yourself once again, and even more of a joy to see you create another video demonstrating how to recreate one of Audrey Hepburn's iconic looks. :) Lovely, lovely, lovely makeup - to say that it was immaculate would be an understatement! As always, you look absolutely flawless and chic, and I love your final outfit at the end. It was breathtaking. :) Merry, merry Christmas and I wish you an amazing year ahead! One suggestion: may I suggest that you do a series of tutorials according to the decades, such as makeup in the 1920s or 1930s and etc, or a series that recreates looks from iconic stars of various decades, such as that of Clara Bow from the twenties, Sophia Loren from the fifties, so on and so forth? I absolutely adore your Tippi Hedren and Baby Bardot tutorial, and also the Marilyn Monroe and Biba ones. Thank you for taking the time to produce such an informative tutorial once again and also, thank you for being such an inspiration. :) Looking forward to your next video!
Wowser. I've seen so many audrey Hepburn inspired makeup looks but for some reason when you do them - it's a lot more enjoyable. I love the little anecdotes you share and the tidbits in the light of the artists and celebrities you clue us in to. Like a history lesson and makeup tutorial in one. It's especially enlightening to hear of products that existed then and is still available now. That's longevity! I wanna try that lip trick and see what kind of effect it has on me. I love your final reveal. It's like a transformation.
Lisa, you are the most elegant personality I have ever had the pleasure of watching! That final transformation with the diamonds was such a joy! I love how light and barely touching the face your brush strokes are, that is something I am trying to do more with my makeup application. It almost looks like you're blending nothing at all, but it makes such a seamless, natural finish
You're just so talented, elegant and eloquent. I also love how you appear to have done your research. I admire Audrey Hepburn so much in every way and you are the only make-up artist I dare watch try to emulate her look - perfection!
He also was the makeup artist for several of Elizabeth Taylor movies, like Ash Wednesday. I would love you to do Liz Taylor's makeup in THE VIPs. She has a smokey grey/blue that's stunning on her eyes.
When you mentioned the face tape in order to achieve higher arched brows it made me realise that I really appreciate you comments as to how we can achieve something even if you're not doing it in the video.
I loved your tutorial, not for myself but in memory of my mother who was an exact contemporary of Audrey Hepburn and in Berlin as a jew hidden in plain sight suffered the same privations as Ms Hepburn during WWII as indeed did many Londoners during the blizkreig. They died I think before their time from the same ailment. My mother, who did resemble her, was happy in her marriage to my Dad, a dashing but loving figure who we jointly looked after when he developed late onset Alzheimers. She died 2 years later to the day. The work that Audrey Hepburn diid for UNICEF on behalf of children was a solace for her personal disappointment in her personal life. I think of both of them as essentially orphaned by life, and Hepburn was never so beautiful, or more my Huckleberry friend than in the cult classic Robin and Marion with Sean Connery as a world weary Robin Hood and Hepburn with an unflattering mop of curls which did nothing to detract from her beauty.
Love your classy looks as always. All other youtubers are all doing colorful smoky eyes, while your looks are always so elegant and wearable. Love your work!
I teared up at the end when I saw the side by side shot, it took my breath away. You do the most beautiful work & are so knowledgeable. This was a truly beautiful video, thank you so much
When you were doing your first eyebrow and showing the side angle, the essence of Audrey Hepburn was jumping right out of my screen. Thank you, I really enjoy your sharing of make up and it's place in history
Its that time of month and my emotions are crazy!! I saw this video and immediately felt relaxed. Nothing like watching somebody skillfully apply makeup in such a calm matter. Thank you.
I just can't believe this video is there... I am so touched, because I saw My Fair Lady on TV 2 days ago /I saw it certainly many many times/ and again, I was so impressed with Audrey's and Rex's acting there! And voila - Audrey is here again. I think we cannot forget the most beautiful woman of the 20th century /as she has been proclaimed/.
I love your tutorials because you explain why everything is done. There is reason behind every brush stoke. Lisa, you truly teach in your videos and the makeup is beautiful and unique each time- thank you :)
Hi Lisa, i hope you notice my comment. Thanks very much for all your videos, everytime i watch i learn something new. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to make a chubby/fat face look slimmer. Its bound to be a bit of a hot button topic but i think most of us girls with the well insulated killer cheek bones would be really grateful xx
I did a video some time ago (its in the 'Basics' video playlist) about using powder contour in an effective and natural looking way. I also have a 'bronzed and sculpted' look video that may be useful x
Yay! Been impatiently waiting for your video! Are you going to do a haul/review video of some of the things you hauled on your recent trip? Hehehe.. I'd love to especially see the brushes you bought from Hakuhodo. I've never seen you use a Hakuhodo brush before. Only your Suqqu brushes, which are impossible and way too expensive for me to buy. Hakuhodo is a bit cheaper and more easily accessible for me.
"I think I've forgotten something.." What a sparkly, "brilliant" and gorgeous ending to that video...just LOVED it...and thank you for sharing your creativity with us mere mortals😊 Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a wonderfully Happy New Year!
After watching loads of UA-cam "gurus" and then Lisa, WOW. What a difference. You can definitely tell who the professional is. She isn't "absolutely literally OBSESSED" with everything. Veey refreshing.

Ruth S. ruth youre soooo right
+Ruth S. you are dead on with this comment! they could take a few pages out of Lisa's book! xo
+LuLu Renee - I could have written that comment myself! It's so true. It's a breath of fresh air watching a sensible adult MUA who knows what she's talking about and isn't trying to peddle anything.
You are more than a makeup artist, Lisa, you're a makeup master! The best of the best.
I agreeee
she's the queen of make up for me! :D
MissPrincess2702 Согласна на все 100%!!!

That is very sweet of you to say, thanks : ) x

I agree, Kelly. She's so very talented!
I thought I was the only one thinking this :D

Whenver Lisa talks, you can see she really does have passion for makeup. She's not just slapping it on trying to cover everything, she works with the face and takes time to see what will make you the most beautiful version of you. It really is great to watch.
It simply blows my mind to see how little amount of products you actually use but still work magic!
It was an amazing holiday gift to see a video pop up from you and this one was wonderful! I love how you tell the story of the person's "makeup life" and product / technique history. There's just nothing like what you do. Hope to see more from you in 2015!

Oh and you were too cute when you said "THE DIAMONDS!" x3

I felt the same way. The transformation took my breath away. She did look like a goddess.
Her videos are soooo soothing! This lady has this mezmerizing humble kind of class, she doesn't overdo anything and her art is so smooth!

That is so nice to hear! Absolutely great X
Please do a Grace Kelly make up tutorial!!! 😀
You speak in a low comforting tone, explaining everything clearly - you don't blab, you just flow. You are a great makeup artist and also a marvelous youtube teacher. This is a true tutorial. Thank you for your hard work and for sharing with us.
I don't know why but I find this video and her voice so comforting
Lauren Rauh, I bet you would enjoy listening to Maria. She has an ASMR channel called gentlewhispering
100% agreed!
ikr. She wears so much. I used to take her seriously because she seemed to wear less and knowledgeable but in real life outside she wld look like a clown
+Maria Nikki does overdo foundation, concealer and contouring. I think she's always aiming for the "airbrush effect" which can get really tacky sometimes.
+Doll Face both of them apply their makeup the way that makes them happy- no need to put down one to raise up tge other
Manda Bane I'm not putting down anyone. I'm just stating that she does a lot of contouring. How the hell is that putting her down? lol Jesus.
It is so calming and very interesting to watch you apply Make up. It's like Art how you do it. Very beautiful, Lisa!
Always impressive that you can narrate and apply makeup simultaneously
"Hope you like the look?" I looooove it lol. Merry Christmas to you in advance and thank you for all your great tips and amazing video. I know my Christmas and New Years Eve are going to be amazing thanks to you :-) Bisous de Paris !
So pleased you loved it so much : ) Merry Christmas to you too X
Lisa with false eyelashes: I'm going to just drop them on and it'll be flawless.
Me with false eyelashed: I'm going to just drop them on- aaand now they are glued to the top of my eyelid, great.
Lisa Eldridge WOW this is spot on! It's actually amazing how you are able to change your eye shape from one video to another. I have a BIG request...could you please do a post or a video on all the movies that you watch for makeup and fashion inspiration?

Two eye shadows and your eyes look like you spent hours and layers of colors doing them. You are a true artist

Oh I came over all emotional when you added the diamonds and put your hair up at the end. You are truly magical!
Nic x
As a Boy who wears Makeup, you have been detrimental in teaching me lots of amazing tips and tricks!! Thank you so much Lisa X
:-O oops. Detrimental = harmful, right?
Instrumental? Contributory? Helpful? Crucial? Indispensable? 😜
Just some friendly teasing, of course. We all understood what you meant! 😄
Lisa has really helped me learn to improve my makeup skills too! She is the absolute best
Dairon1869 Oh god haha oops I must've been extremely tired when I posted this and she is amazing!!

"Funny Face" is one of my favorite movies! It's such a wonderful scene when she emerges "as a bird of paradise". Thank you for such a lovely tutorial.
I love her she give me a good beautiful energy in all her videos💕💕💕
Diamonds! You took my breath away when you revealed the final look! Brava, Lisa!
I can't help it Lisa, I'm always impressed and inspired by your creations
I could watch your videos for hours, mesmerised at how beautiful your makeup looks always are & how gracefully you apply it!
It's so glamorous! You could fit into a vintage makeup ad perfectly!
i love that you provide so much background information in your looks that everything just gets more interesting. love it.

I love your final reveal. It's like a transformation.
It looks so much like hers! I'm impressed. I've seen many tutorials but few resembled Audrey's until I stumbled upon this!
Lisa, you are the most elegant personality I have ever had the pleasure of watching! That final transformation with the diamonds was such a joy! Твое умение и мастерство это High level!!! Люблю, учусь и восхищаюсь!!!!
Watching your videos do not only improve my makeup skills but also some knowledge on history of makeup. Love u soooooo much lisa xx
You are amazing!!! I loved the history along with the tutorial. This is makeup!!!! Kathryn
Absolutely amazing! Ms Lisa you are a true "beauty guru" in this community. No one does work as beautiful as you, no one!
So professional! Love your videos. xo Team Zoe
Gosh, she is just stunning! Absolutely my most favorite makeup artist ever!
Not only do I watch a make up tutorial, but I really learn about make up.. Time period, artists, colors, trends, application.. Wow💋
I love the way you do your make up- as if you barely touched your face at all. I am your humble admirer:-).
Exactly. She just sweeps lightly anything on. Super!
I teared up at the end when I saw the side by side shot, it took my breath away. You do the most beautiful work & are so knowledgeable. This was a truly beautiful video, thank you so much
So gorgeous
+Vanessa Freeman Thank you X

this is real make up.. high class... not pounds of products that youtube is used with!! loved it
You are the best. The end.
Omg the way she looks at the camera when she says "the diamonds!"
Amazing tutorial! I couldn't stop staring at the eyes~ ♥
Lisa, I think you look wonderful with Audrey's style makeup on. It's perfect for your kind of eye-shape! Love this tutorial so much.
Audreys style was different to this really!
When you were doing your first eyebrow and showing the side angle, the essence of Audrey Hepburn was jumping right out of my screen. Thank you, I really enjoy your sharing of make up and it's place in history
Oh la la, the epitome of elegance and class!
Its that time of month and my emotions are crazy!! I saw this video and immediately felt relaxed. Nothing like watching somebody skillfully apply makeup in such a calm matter. Thank you.
I love these vintage makeup looks! Would you do a Grace Kelly or Elizabeth Taylor look? Like Rear Window, or Cleopatra? That would be great.
You look like an angel or a goddess at the end!!
I love your tutorials because you explain why everything is done. There is reason behind every brush stoke. Lisa, you truly teach in your videos and the makeup is beautiful and unique each time- thank you :)
Please do the Audrey makeup in the turquoise-blue eye mask scene in breakfast at Tiffany's.
You, Ma'am are a true make artist and I can't even watch anyone else put on their make up.
How could anyone give this a thumbs down?! Your work is magnificent!
You're just so timelessly classy, Lisa. I love all your tutorials.
Thankyou very much, i ll check it out now. Thanks for answering too x
I swear, Lisa. You were sent from the cosmetic gods to guide us on our magical make-up journey. Thank you for this beautiful look.
I actually gasped at the end when you had your hair up and the diamonds on, you looked stunning!!!! Beautiful look on you!
Lisa you have so much class you could be a school.
"I think I've forgotten something.." What a sparkly, "brilliant" and gorgeous ending to that video...just LOVED it...and thank you for sharing your creativity with us mere mortals😊
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a wonderfully Happy New Year!
