she's so stunning, but you really sometimes just have really bad days where nothing changes your perspective on yourself, and it's nice to know that someone as charming and honestly so gorgeous as alexa chung has bad days like that too.
I love that wearing red lipstick to the pub is too much for Alexa but I wear red lipstick to the grocery store.
I feel the same hahahha

If I didn't know her I wouldn't say she had sallow skin to avoid it being interpreted as a negative thing. I would say something else more positive or nothing on the matter. My eyes bulged when I heard these comments and made me think omg hopefully they know each other well... Wow.

In today's time, when the rest of the beauty 'gurus' are piling on the face products, its so refreshing to see a high-end professional MUA go minimalist with her evening makeup. This was just amazing Lisa.
I know! That's why I unsubscribed to a lot of them a long time ago! I worked as an MUA and I would sometimes get women who would be like should u be using more I'm like um no but then they saw their final result and they loved it!
+MACMAKEUPJUNKEE Nice! I once had my face done by an industry makeup artist, curtesy of my cousin. It was lovely that he got this guy to do the makeup for me, I appreciated it. But, realised then too that just because you have the MUA title doesn't mean you're good.
It was good makeup but felt like he piled on a lot on my face, and that there weren't any variations in regards to how he did my face and how he did the other family members. (Dirty brushes too... which is bad for someone who has rosacea)
I think it takes a lot of, not just skills, but awareness of individual faces to become an excellent makeup artist like Lisa.
I think makeup should always be about enhancing, not covering/ changing the face that you no longer look like yourself (if that makes sense).
+MACMAKEUPJUNKEE Also, once on holiday I got my makeup done at the hairdressers... I think they used the 'Kardashian' map of contouring on my face, which obviously meant plying loads of foundation and bronzer, isn't it?... I guess I felt bad, half felt like it was my fault and didn't want to embarrass both of us, that I just allowed it. It was very silly of me thinking like that..
Anyways, makeup made me look like a drag queen..... I should have done the makeup myself because even if I didn't know how to do the skin, I can very well do my eyes pretty well.
It's just that I've seen this type of 'contouring' everywhere that I thought... I don't know, it should work for me too because it's everywhere. Most MUA on YT do this, and if it didn't work for me, it's somehow my fault... But obviously, I know better now (never been into contouring in the first place). Also, this type of contouring don't suit a lot of Asian faces, imo, as I realise now.

How does one get to that stage in life where one just drops by your house/studio and says "I look dreadful" and you take care of said one?

When Alexa Chung first came out, I thought - 'wow, she seems really pretty in a scrappy, cool-girl kind of way.' With the make up, I thought, 'Ok. Yeah. She's definitely a model.' Gorgeous!
I love Lisa Eldrige's tutorials, the problem is that it's hard to replicate because I don't have the eye for color she does. Everything is so harmonic, intentional & *tailored* to each model... A true artist.
I wish Alexa would come over to the House of Eldridge more often! Her banter with Lisa is hilarious. 😂
Only Lisa can ADAPT so fast and make a client that wasn't to keen on the lip LOVE it in the end. Only a real PRO knows how to make a look the way the client wants while also staying true to her style.
Alexa Chung reminds me so much of Harry Styles. Am I crazy or does anybody else see it too? Her voice, humor and overall personality is like a female version of Harry.

Lisa, I'm Black. I'm MAC NW43 deep. When I see yt videos for my skin its always heavy and drag inspired. I love how you do make up and I wanted to know if you could do a video for darker skin. Just like this one with products in shades I can use. Thank you! Great video!
+Giana Stallworth I agree Giana. its is extremely difficult to find makeup videos these days with black women, or any women for that matter, with a natural-looking base. all i seem to find are those masking their face with tons of foundation/concealer/contour. I hope you watch Lisa's earlier video's featuring black women. they're pretty good!
I believe Lisa has a few videos that feature deeper skin.
I kinda feel like Alexa acts like a sarcastic child and Lisa, her responsible mother in these videos. Of course in a good way; it's very cute. And then Alexa looks just fabulous from beginning to end.
Thought the same of her.Fantastic makeup, though. But, So annoying to a watch grown woman act like a needy child.

Your interaction with Alexa is fun to watch. It's interesting to see the dichotomy of her strong opinions with the vulnerability of thinking she looked bad. Humanizing and funny. I like to show videos like these to my preteen daughter so she can see everyone, even the amazing Alexa Chung, has moments of self doubt, but it's how you react that makes a difference.

I love how attainable your looks are! Sometimes when I watch tutorials I feel like I could never do the looks, but your videos are so gorgeous and I always feel like I could recreate them on myself. This look is so simple yet makes such an impact.

This makeup honesty looks so good. I love color combo between the eyeshadow and lips. Also admire how she lightened the shade of the lip with lip balm and blush. Great technique that I might try !!

I tend to really dislike foundation, I always feel like a blank sheet or empthy canvas and so I remove it immediately, even though it covers up pimples and imperfections as well (though sometimes it just gathers around the pimpel and makes it look even worse). But this looks really nice! You can still see the freckles and her skin has that nice glow without looking powdery. Looks very natural, none of that big contouring or things looking forced.
And she is really gorgeous, the smokey eye makes her green-blue eye-color pop out even more. ♥
