Come on outfit changes and demonstrations. This was soooo good
Thank you so much!!!
My biggest problem to retaining moisture was buildup and not using a clarifying shampoo often enough. Wonderful video, great info.
To make clarifying easier, I clarify my hair the first Sunday of every month.
My biggest problem was using oils needlessly and then not truly clarifying my hair. It looks me a whole year of being intentionally natural to kick my oil habit and my curl pattern suddenly appeared when I did because my hair was getting truly cleaned and moisturised.
Your lhair looks so good! You look great! You are one of my top Influencer's. A refresher course never hurt anyone. Thanks for what you do.
Agreed
This is a really good video. We installed a water softener system that has an activated charcoal filter on our house when we bought it and it is truly amazing. When we lived in an apartment we had the shower head filter and it did help tremendously, but the softener is absolute bomb! ❤️
Sis!!! Come thru with this much needed content.
Another great video!! I love the spaghetti demo on moist versus dry hair strands.
Just missed you but watching now. Thanks so much for sharing 💙
Very good video! These are all things I just learned very recently!
Yazz glad u addressed dis moisture, moisture, moisture luv ur content keep it coming sis✌🏾
Wow this was so helpful. Thanka girl!
I'm discovering your oldies but goodies. This one is brilliant.
Thank you!
I watched the Replay, this was very good information. THANK YOU
Your hair looks great!
As a cosmetic chemist I love all the accurate facts you listed below.
The problem with curly texture is mainly the lack of serum (or body's natural moisturizer). It's very hard to coat the hair if it's curly or coily. This is controversial, but the ultimate way to keep you hair moisturized is to comb/brush your hair at least once a day. Only way to get that sebum oil from the scalp to the ends. I don't do this myself, ill just add. So the second best way is to add product that will act like sebum and follow the method she mentioned in the video. But like she said, you have to do it often...doesn't last forever like sebum do.
To coat sebum down ur strands u can use ur fingers. Check out green beauty there’s an entire video on how it works
You could try green Beauties method and preen to get the sebum from your scalp down to the ends of your hair. You should watch that video it's quite interesting. I personally can't find sebum on my scalp to do anything with it so I wonder if everyone produces it?
@@sable7114 the older you are, the less you produce. In my 20s I could feel mine in the first 3 inches of my hair after a month of having braids in. Now, nada even at the scalp that's noticeable.
Didn't know the word occlusive til now. Really appreciate the breakdown. ☺❤
I haven’t been able to retain moisture - learning how to counter hard water effects may be a game changer for me - Thank you for the tips
I agree!
Great video! I do think it can't be stressed enough that "dirty" hair growing faster is not a scientific fact. Wash your hair!
Biggest Barrier was thinking that my hair was supposed to be dry after a few days. Great vidéo☀️
Thank you so much for this explanation on moisture.
Love the dry pasta demonstration
thank you for this!!
very informative! thank you for this 🥰
Good stuff Achia. I have watched your videos for quite some time now and you always have such great and useful information. Whenever someone needs help with their hair, I always refer them to your UA-cam channel.
Thank you so much 😊
The queen!!!!!!
This video was very informative. I have hard water and products that should work, don't. Even deep conditioners. I thought it was just my hair doing the most. Thank you for making this content♥️♥️♥️
This video came right on time!
I love the middle part...looks good on you!
Great Job, yes, moisture is the key and weekly shampooing. Many people don't shampoo enough because alot of work goes into pampering their hair. This is truly a must inorder to have healthy hair.
Yep. Many people don't get the gospel of clean hair
Those a easy tips to follow... It doesn't need to be compicated. Thanks for sharing !
Great video!
This is great! Very useful! 🙏🏽
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this video 🥰💕..
Good information . 😊
Great video 😘😘
Amazing video as always. And the lisp is gone ;) It's definitely hard water for me. I moved to a different city almost 10 years ago and during that time my sister came to visit and she asked me how did I manage here with the water. She said she'd never washed her hair here again 🤣...I was clueless. I look at old pictures and you could definitely see the dryness. I went back home for the holidays and I washed my hair at my parents house omg hair feeling soft and pliable after shampoo... I've never experienced that feeling before.
This wash and go😍🔥🔥🔥
Black Girl Curls, licensed cosmetologists and textured hair specialists, have been pioneering the no oils, no butter, wash your hair often, hair care practice for the last few years. They are an excellent resource.
Oprah Winfrey’s hairstylist has been saying this since the 90’s, Black women just weren’t ready to receive the information then.
Come through with the information!! Thanks for the video 💙💙
I definitely agree with these tips! By the way you are gorgeous 😍 I love your hair! Hard water was a new discovery for me, because it seemed like no matter what I did to my hair to keep it moisturized my hair was still dry as if nothing was done to it. I can’t afford a water filter or a water softener in my house, so I found an article online that mentioned that spraying distilled water on my hair after washing it removes the minerals off my hair and scalp and it retains moisture better. Now I spray my hair daily with it and I have no problems with dryness. And I saved money from needing to buy a gadget, I had a spray bottle that I never used and bought distilled water for only $1. Times are hard but not my hair! 😂😊
Love that you found an easy solution. Thank you!
@@ALove4Me me too! It took me 4 years to find one but I’m glad I finally did! And you’re welcome 😊
How often do you suggest clarifying the hair?
Thank you! You & my daughter told me to nite love it I’ve been leaving out water just drenched hair with products! The lord knew I needed your information I’m using ogx products, oils & once in a while glycerin!
You are so welcome!
Good info
Thank you!
This. Was. Amazing.

The hard water really got my attention! I never thought about the quality of the water in my apartment and specifically when I wash my hair. However when I looked up if my city has hard water, I found out it has very hard water. I live in Southfield Michigan and I never even thought of finding out what kind of water we have. My question is can I just buy a filter for my shower head? I don't need a whole filter system because I live in an apartment. And thanks for the awesome information!
Yes, they make shower filters. U can find them in the same places as the systems.
!!!!! Lol I live in Southfield too lmao! Just minutes ago I was furiously googling to find out the water hardness and I came to the same conclusion as you! Luckily I already use a chelating shampoo (I use the living proof phd shampoo) every other week. Chelating shampoos will remove mineral deposits and pollution from your hair.

Great video. I don’t think the link works.
What is the very cool jazz happening at the outro? Abeg, please!! ❤
At this point I'm not sure, but all of my music comes from Epidemic Sound
Thanks very much for this video very interesting. I live in Africa where the weather is hot and humid; ant this is what I learn from my natural hair journey:: Here, water evaporate very very quickly from the hair but also you can get some hydratation from the environnement. I would say that using occlusive then will result to wash every 2-3 days otherwise we loose hydratation; or if we don't want to wash every 2-3 days it becomes better to use only water based leave-in with humectants in daily basics to maintain hydratation. WHat do you think about this?
Glad you figured out what works for your hair
These tips were excellent. Thank you. Just wanted to ask you though what SHOULD the ph balance of my water be pls? I have ph strips and want to test it. Also, I know I already have hard water, so I wanted to ask if boiling the water first and using that would make any difference. I look forward to your response.
Water should have a pH of 7.
@@lynnellscott9079 thank you
@@BeaunaturelleFeb11 You're welcome.
I've always had naturally dry hair
I will take any tips gladly. Also if you color or bleach( oh gosh lol) any ki d of curly hair its another level of dry.
Very true! Bleaching is the enemy of moisturizer hair
Thank you! I realised today that water was my enemy. They put chlorine in the water where I live😢. I'll have to buy bottled water
😍😍😍
🙂🙂🙂
If moisture is water, why does my hair always dry out when I style on wet/damp hair? It’s so weird to me. I’ll literally let my hair completely air dry after washing, style my hair, and it feels sooooo moisturized and soft. But whenever I style my hair after I’ve washed it, the next day it’s always dry…as if I didn’t moisturize it at all🤔
Because you need to seal it either with grease or an oil.
@@Gladiator_in_a_Suit I always do🥺
I have hard water 🙃
what about dew point?
What about it?
@@ALove4Me do i need to take it into consideration when using products with humectants?
@@middleofdecember9862 When styling, yes, but not concerning moisture
😀😀😀
No worries about being a cosmetologist they don’t learn this 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Good information but YOUR hair needs moisture.
Well aren’t u mean and hateful
Sorry, just fa-fa-facts!
