The best guitarist. Don't even try to argue with me
But music isn't a competition, how is that possible?
Max, can we argue with you and Max?
Isn’t there always someone better? Maybe not in this case.
Well, there is this russian kid who's not so bad either, and clearly on a class on his own in the hair department...
It’s the improv ability that makes Guthrie stand above the rest. The intricate lines/phrases/sequences this man can just pull off the top of his head are impossible
He chose a lot of dangerous paths that 99% of guitarist would end up lost mid phrase, but he knows where he goes and how to get out triumphant.
But also 0:54 - what the fuck is that, even? I’ve never seen or heard anything remotely close to that lick
Kiko Loureiro does use licks like that in some of his solos.
@@AG-ur1lj I've seen Kiko Loureiro do something similar, like in the first solo in 'Dystopia'.
Very hard to do as cleanly as Guthrie and Kiko.
There's no better guitarist I've seen in this world.
Guthrie is deceptively technical. Every lick is full of slides, ghost notes, grace notes, micro bends, complex note groupings, and 2 full step bends. All while playing extremely fast. The more you try to replicate his playing, the more you realize how great he really is.
That makes sense. But Im 71 yrs old, so I wont be trying that.😁
For real. 30 minutes trying waves and you have a new level of awe for him.
Been learning larry carlton/robben ford track for a year now and no where near close to 100% speed yet
Bro he’s the best guitar player alive
There is absolutely nothing 'deceptive' about Guthrie Govan's technique. The man is a technical monster. He doesn't try to hide it, he just plays the way he plays.
I have wasted my whole life convincing myself there are better guitarists than Guthrie Govan. I am sick of lying to myself. Every little thing he does is magic.
I was thinking that as I watched, he’s the reason I even bought a guitar and I’m realizing that I’ll have to play for the rest of my life to have a shot at being this great.
Except take 1, I assume...... 😮
he plays too many notes.
@@sose6255yeah probably too many for your brain to process
you probably dont even know how to play the guitar.@@bonelesspizza222
Watching Guthrie at 3 am gotta be the best. "One more for luck?" at the end made me chuckle a little too.
Tfff man I'm watching at 3 now lol The best decision ever
see the guy live sometime and you;ll forget what time even is or how it was important in the first place after they explain things a bit
@@dannnmerkle7930I’ve seen the aristocrats live and I don’t think you’ll ever see more talent on one stage than that
I've seen them twice and I am pretty sure I am still missing a piece of my brain stuck to the ceiling from a week ago@-ki6ld
Did anyone notice that this masterpiece was recorded with this perfection level only at the 2nd take? LoL
He is an insane monster! The best! ❤😊
Last 5 secs of the video can give you a better idea of what Guthrie is. So music-driven, totally not concerned about all of the praise that everybody gives to him, because the only thing he cares about is guitar. That endless search of becoming the best version of himself.
JTC, I think everyone here would love some extra Guthrie footage! Maybe some more uncut takes like this (for the reactions😅), alternate takes for the tracks, behind the scenes etc.
Wrong I would like everything from anyone ever named Guthrie removed from UA-cam, I despise this dude and the way he comes across makes me wanna vomit.
We need Guthrie with Mancuso 🔥💖
@@glockmaster77lame? he's the best right now. stfu
@@glockmaster77 he could not be adored by Vai and Eric Johnson if he's a stupid pentatonic guitarist
That would melt our faces
@@nahshonmanzano9649stupid pentatonic guitarrist 😐. Plini is a stupid pentatonic 🎸.
and max ostro
Phrasing and melodic intention are off the chart.
Even when Guthrie's got bored, his playing still amazes me 😂
The guy finishes the solo with "well, some kinda shit yeah" face xDDDD
One of the best for me. Guthrie is always at a high level, regardless of what I see him playing.
No wonder Hans Zimmer is crazy about him. Fucking unbelievable 🤯🤯🤯🤯 He’s the craziest guitarist on the planet.
Best all-round guitarist of all time.
He is a multiple-style player. In each of the styles he reaches world class level.
The best electrical guitarist to have ever walked this earth
King 👑 of Guitar
So many guys doin the Guthrie thing but no one’s like him 😄
Awesome music. Sick guitar. Badass guitarist. 10/10
Best from the best!!!
imagine pulling an insane solo, on 2nd take, then shrug like it was nothing 1:59 what a legend
Holy shit that was one of the most badass things ive ever seen 😂
Genius of the fret
I just love the out of box playing he does!
My god man. The fact that he can even do this with a guitar is unbelievably inspiring!
Guthrie does these rhythmic gymnastics
All combinations of rests and triplets and 16 notes executed precisely at will.
This is fucking undoable in an improv
Guthrie Govan is a fucking god.
What a treat! Also this little lick at 0:55 to 0:58 is something he played on Jason Becker's "River of Longing" that was released in 2018. It's really interesting he was able to utilise it on that track.
Yes, he does recycle his riffs and licks in his solos. And that actually makes them more interesting in a way that you can hear them differently in different context
Makes it into an Aristocrats tune at one point as well.
The man is a wizard.
lol the end when he looks around like he just didn't SLAY. That's a humble genius
Arguably the best musician ever to live 🎉
This remember me the last interview in the RickBeato Channel when Mateus Asato said: Guthrie is special, he can play in one or two tape a new solo... and this is a probe of that amazing!
This man is just fkn crazy crazy crazy ridiculous goat level max 100 king of everything regarding a guitar with strings attached. I’ve watched this guy from the beginning and idc how much I watch of him playing, I am blow away every single time I hear him play. It’s an absolute shame and should be against the law that Guthrie doesn’t do more stuff like this for us all to listen to over and over and over again
This man is just incredible , and such a nice person .
Love his reaction
This is amazing!!!
Crazy 🤪 Never fails to impress!! Legend🎸🤘
greatest guitarist of all time and people will realize this slowly over the next 10-20 yrs
THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER FOR ME!
You had me at Fives. The guitar virtuoso’s guitarist.
His single bend carries enough feel nd emotion ❤
Just beautiful mate .
can't get enough
guthrie, the most underrated guitarist on the planet. He always lands on his feet, what a cat
Amazing
Man this is crazy good
This is INSANE!
I WOULD HAVE TO FULLY.
WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH MR.MAX ..
SIMPLY THE VERY BEST GUITARIST..
Max?
INDEED, CAPITAL MAN.
*~VERY NICE~*
El mejor siempre
GV has a tremendous background... He is an extreme experienced guitar player in different genres... I remember to read Guitar Techniques (English guitar magazine) back in 1994, and GV was one of the guitar tutors for GT. Tabs and tabs he transcribed, lots of backing tracks he recorded and solos note by note... Back than he was already super... He is a terrific guitar player... tecnhique, teory and improvisation in a highest level... But It didn't happen overnight...
I didn't like Govan's toy-like tone and touch, but this video's soloing is very unique and powerful You're getting better
“One more for luck” ha ha! I actually filmed this and forgot he said that 😂
Guthrie the Big Boss guitar man!

Melhor guitarra do.mundo ! Govan yes
And can we all acknowledge that thick juicy bass groove!
LIKE THE GROOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
❤❤❤
King of phrases!
GOAT.
❤
Gênio!
Damn
Only took him two takes. What a legend
Only the second take. Absolutely insane.
Hey this guy's good. He is gonna be famous one day
Damn, that casual shrug at the end...
Would love to see the other takes of this track
This guy is from another planet
🔥
Since filming this Guthrie's hair and beard have gone white, so he not only sounds like a wizard, he now looks the part too 😀
Guthrie the Grey is so choice
Phrasing that just don’t quit.
Best guitarist isn't a term to be used anymore. The level of playing by people now a days has gotten to a point to where it either makes you feel good or it doesn't. Guthrie makes me feel good lol but so does Matteo Mancuso and so so so many other players. John gomm, Sam griffin, max ostro just to literally name a few out of probably 20 to 50 amazing players. Is Guthrie the best? I would say he's at the top level. And I love that more than there being a best.
This exact backing track is on UA-cam. I used it lol
Going to see the Aristocrats tomorrow night!!!
神
Are you fucking joking me ?? 😂😂😂😂😂 unbelievable
I think that that "JESUS" said by the fellow JTC worker at the very end can speak for us all.
When will we get new Guthrie's new tracks on JTC,its been sooooooooo many years
JTC invented time machine... they got young Guthrie
This is amazing. Can I also listen to Track 4, take 1. Thanks.
Wow...still rocking the good ol' Axe-FX II..that's awesome!! I am too!! I'd like a QC or one of the new Axe IIIs, but honestly, once stuff got to a point, upgrades just weren't anywhere near as important as generational differences are so much smaller. I bet he'd agree. Has sounded great for years, still sounds great, screw upgrading!! Only real reason I want one of the new ones is just to play with them...I love the tech/gear side of things. Never had a complaint about my Axe II.
This is a recent upload but I think a very old video, he's had full gray hair for a couple years now
@@OhGodWhatIsThisAah Oh yea. Very true. I was so busy looking at his hands and gear that I didn't even look at him. 🤣
@@rmp5s a very understandable series of events lol
Reminds me a lot of Blues Saraceno's early work
he did sanitize every notes, into a clean germless lick. wonderful
The first take was too fire to post
This is Bigfoot by Guthrie Govan.
Come to think of it.....
The Bigfoot I saw did have a shuffle to him!
🤣👍
That was okay 😮
全てのジャンルや演奏法が、最強レベルの上手さ。「完璧超人」とは彼の為に存在する言葉だと思う。同じ人間だとは思えない😂
まごう事なき超人。現代ギターの帝王。
👽🛸
Always seen clips of Guthrie shredding for decades now and have always been a fan of the guy in general. Any album/song suggestions so I can get better acquainted?
His solo project Erotic Cakes is untouchable, and he's in a trio called the Aristocrats with Marco Minneman and Bryan Beller that have been releasing albums for about ten years now. Personally I stick to their live recordings but to each their own.
prime Govan was incredible.
1:58
U can tell if he sticks with it he’ll probably end up being pretty good.😁
A tune called "Bigfoot!?
Damn it!
That's a great idea!
I wonder if Guthrie (Or Matteo or Max) can play Fracture of Robert Fripp (King Crimson)?
😮😮😮😮
This started off like my pullout game would be weak, but then I got confused and mesmorized so I left it in anyway, also my wife now has a red mark on her forehead where I was trying to keep time.
