I'm seeing a lot of people have a similar issue with their upload speeds not being between 1 and 10 and I'd say this may be happening because of a difference in internet providers. That's only a guess but there is a solution for all of you. Bitrate is one of those things where you can simply set it to a number, run a test recording/stream, and adjust it accordingly. I would start with a bitrate of around 3000, test your recording, and if its still lagging drop it by 500 or 1000 and if its running smoothly test how high you can go without lag. Running OBS as an administrator was absolutely essential for me to even run my streams without any frame drops. It’s insane how much running as admin can make a difference.

Hey Jordan thank you so much! Streamlabs did an update and messed up all my settings. Found your video and helped out so much. Go figure x264 encoder is better for me then NVEC and I have a pretty great GPU, but running on a single PC setup just helps to use x264.

@@droggy23 the preview is the screen that shows up when you open stream labs, by right clicking outside it you can enable performance mode which will remove the preview and make it run a lot faster
I'm in Australia, so internet is pathetic compared to US providers. But I am currently at one of the best speeds for my country (without fibre optic) 110mbps down + 40mbps up.

This worked, thank you so much! Edit: What helped also helped was to uncheck the Optimize Box when going live, this way you don't undo all your setting changes.
Saving for later. Trying to stream RE4 VR. I have like 30 upload speed and the casting from the headset is fine with almost no latency but Streamlabs itself was just TANKING the frames and the audio was way ahead. Hopefully this will resolve my issue tomorrow.
