Same. It's quite common problem. Go to workshop. There's a service procedure to reset adjustment. In most cases that's work's, but sometimes replacement some parts is required.
I had a same problem. I started to riide and after 20 kilometers i restarted the system and the fault has gone. This is a known problem in the service. Sometimes needs to move the level from down to up position. Sandor
Mine was because of the the Hirschmann I750 semi active wire. It was not properly seated. ua-cam.com/video/-hk7KS3DOWk/v-deo.html. It occurred once or twice over the first few thousand Km's and then couldn't reset it by 6,000 KM's. I'd keep an eye on it and if it starts happening more often check this wire at the base of the spring. I've explained the issue to KTM and they have ordered the new part and will be replacing it.
Thanks for the input. I found the problem (cable related), I was just hosting this video for a forum thread I started on it at KTM Forums. www.ktmforums.com/threads/ktm-1290-s-2021-preload-and-damping-error.138922/#post-1023893
I got this problem on my -20 when the bike was 2 days old. After many visits to KTM they finally replaced the damper motor, no issues since that.
I have this also on my -23 sas and i waiting for parts it was the suspension travel sensor out of spec ohm

Check your battery - if you have had it parked up for a while and the voltage has dropped then this is what happens
