So is this game just average? I don't get the joke. Is everyone mocking the hype or not? Even for fucking Harry Potter people were excited... Is this excitement? The sarcasm is too thicc!
The companions in this game will stay with you for YEARS (maybe a lifetime!) after you've finished playing! Like who will ever forget the ever-loveable "Sarah Morgan"! She's a middle-aged English lady, who's looking to do good in the world! Or Sam Coe, a middle-aged guy who dresses in Western gear and has this really unique perk that lets him deal 10% more damage with rifles!
And who can forget his lovable sidekick offspring, Cora?! The only thing sharper than her wit is her skill with a _haiku!_ My life is certainly enriched beyond words by these all too fleeting high-quality adult interpersonal relationships! Bethesda really knows their stuff!
Detective Kim. Who? Dak'kon. Dak-yawn Minsc and Boo. Whatever Kreia, Kaelyn The Dove and ED-E? Fuck 'em Morrigan, Anders and Varric. Who cares Wrex, Garrus, Mordin and Tali? lol, yeah right. Sarah... mf'ing.... Morgan.... OMG I CRIED, I screamed, I clapped!

I had a glitch where my companion was running insanely fast and couldn’t slow down to a stop. They ran into a wall and got launched 50ft into the air. it made a loud ass bonk too I wish I recorded it lol
I had a quest glitch where 2 npcs just stare at each other instead of talking to each other Had to use a bucket to move one of them so it prompts properly

"It doesn't look like Fallout 3, it doesn't sound like Fallout 3, but it still plays like Fallout 3." As someone who actually likes Starfield, I think this is a damn accurate explanation of the game. For better and worse.
I wonder if the train that's nothing more than a glorified loading screen selector is literally a hat on an NPC's head again like in Fallout 3. It moves all of 10 metres, some super advanced tech right there!
The gamer guy from the 80s had the best commentary here. 9.5/10, really makes you *feel* like you're reading a review from one of the developers on his alt account.
The worst part is he calls him self a huge space nerd. Starfield doesn't even have any space exploration. It's literal loading screens. Meanwhile no man's sky, elite dangerous, and star citizen has been doing it for years, seamlessly.
Yeah I haven't played it yet, but it doesn't seem like... a masterpiece. Seems like a solid "Ok." These people raving about it seem to be people who really don't play that many games at all so their standards are a little low. They don't know what else is out there.
Fake, stars don't live nowhere near that long. Giant stars use up their hydrogen fuel quickly, resulting in short lifetimes. An eight solar mass star will live less than 100 million years. At 10-15 solar masses, the lifetime of the star drops to only 10-20 million years. The most massive giant stars are believed to live no more than a few million years.
Dayum….. you are multiple times older than scientists think the universe is. Also the game is definitely getting recalled for depicting underaged stars.

I love the fact that whenever Dunkey makes a video about a game that let's you shoot innocent people, he always includes clips of him shooting innocent people 😂
Shooting NPCs in this game is unintentionally the funniest and most enjoyable part of the game. The way their (very limited) AI just kind of breaks never fails to get a chuckle out if me.

Starfield actually pulled a LOT from Daggerfall due to it's more recent popularity, but still failed to implement these ideas adequately and instead create a game that they've already made 4 times since 2008. Phil Spencer pretty much admitted to everyone that he's not good for the company at all and that the Xbox division as a whole kinda sucks for Microsoft. All of us already knew this of course, but it's great to see the boss agreeing with everyone.
For anyone wondering, the fitness perk was never bugged. You have to fully deplete O2 and keep running until you fill up CO2 and take damage. Most people seem to make this mistake
I'd say that's my main complaint, some perks just end up being tedious to unlock. This one is the worst, but another that was annoying was scanning X number of planets. Then there's stuff like knock enemies down 20x with the boostpack. I really feel like no one play tested how the perk unlock requirements feel during regular gameplay.
You know, if Dunkey uses his normal "out of 5" instead of "out of 10" scale then technically he just scored it a 5 out of 5. Perfect game! Has a little something for everyone.
Depends on the scope of the game. Ori and the Blind Forest? Yes. 10 hours max. Huge, open world exploration game? It needs WAY more. If Starfield really picks up at 12 hours, I’ll probably really enjoy it. But that’s because that’s how my brain works with games. It’s not for everyone.
I think that skill challenge isn't bugged, it actually requires you to fill up your oxygen bar with CO2 in addition to depleting your oxygen. I'm not sure why but that worked for me!

The funniest bug I have had so far was when Sarah had one of her really important companion story dialogs, and as she was talking to me she slowly glitched away into a wall and the camera just slowly panned to follow her
Had the same bug, I cleared a room and after I was done, there was this audio log I had to interact with. This started a conversation with Sarah, however I missed one enemy because it ran away, but it came back an started shooting. Sarah engaged in the fight locking me into the follow cam without dialog that I could not quit. Had to reload a part of this mission and lost cool gear that 2 enemies dropped with that. Starfield is like you're over 40 years old. There is a universe to explore, but you're already tired from work and it's time to sleep.
Ngl this is how I feel I turn it on play for 45 minutes then I feel tired and turn it off.
Am 40, can confirm.
This really speaks to me
Damn im 23 and feel like that already
lil bro thinks 40 is old 😢
The companions in this game will stay with you for YEARS (maybe a lifetime!) after you've finished playing!
The only thing sharper than her wit is her skill with a _haiku!_
My life is certainly enriched beyond words by these all too fleeting high-quality adult interpersonal relationships! Bethesda really knows their stuff!
You forget the most important, the Adoring Fan. A starfield playthrough is not complete without first romancing the Adoring Fan.

So cool of Dunkey to give one of the smaller games of our time a chance
As a 40 billion year old star, I can confirm that this game has stars. Definitely one of the games ever.
And those stars really shine in their field
I’m so dead 😂😂
Fake, stars don't live nowhere near that long.
Giant stars use up their hydrogen fuel quickly, resulting in short lifetimes. An eight solar mass star will live less than 100 million years. At 10-15 solar masses, the lifetime of the star drops to only 10-20 million years. The most massive giant stars are believed to live no more than a few million years.

Yeah, but the first one isn't even the REAL princess, then you gotta do it again.
Run the Red Mile early on and you won't need to grind for it.
Yeah it's pretty easy to play around and figure this one out. Not genius level stuff here
You know, if Dunkey uses his normal "out of 5" instead of "out of 10" scale then technically he just scored it a 5 out of 5. Perfect game! Has a little something for everyone.
5 out of 10 without mods, 5 out of 5 with mods
@@valnerothgaming I think your math is wrong… If we include mods, it still only scores a five!
5 % 10 = 5
I don't know, it didn't make me feel like Spiderman.
@@EvolvedDinosaur I change my score to a 4 then :(
5/10 = 2.5/5
"I feel like most good games arent even 12 hours long" that line really got me, its so true.
It was somehow a joke and true at the same time
Depends on the game. I pumped like a good 200 hours into hollow shit but that's also partially because it's hard and I suck lol
@@thelemon5069hollow shit 💀💀💀
I assume you meant hollow knight
Depends on the scope of the game. Ori and the Blind Forest? Yes. 10 hours max. Huge, open world exploration game? It needs WAY more.
If Starfield really picks up at 12 hours, I’ll probably really enjoy it. But that’s because that’s how my brain works with games.
It’s not for everyone.
Idk team fortress 2 gets good round hour 100.
I think that skill challenge isn't bugged, it actually requires you to fill up your oxygen bar with CO2 in addition to depleting your oxygen. I'm not sure why but that worked for me!
“If you build great games, everything would turn around. It’s just…not true.”
Perfectly sums up the mentally of the entire AAA gaming industry as a whole.
Sony and Nintendo would disagree
that is the exact reason xbox lost because they didn't made good games. On the other hand playstation has spiderman, uncharted, bloodborne, GOT, GOW, Horizon and many more
@@MeetParmaribm Did you name any good games in there?
BG3 proves this wrong
@choo_choo_ you wouldn't know since you didn't play them. But yeah. He listed great games
"Still a Bethesda RPG through and through." Pretty much sums it up.
I can't believe that Bethesda made the first pronouns-type game
kojima shaking rn
¡¡¡¡¡PRONOUNS!!!!!
Yep, and pronouns have never been used before in video games prior. Everyone just referred to each other by nouns.
Sims 4 has had it for ages mate.
@@ZeScorpion So did Baldur's Gate 3 and Forza Horizon 5. Don't know why they only started yelling about this game, but I assume it's because Starfield was considered mid by alot of people and the grifters will now claim it's because it was woke. They usually never call really popular things that because that would invite backlash.
God damn.. How have I come this far without knowing about dunkey... Subbed!
This seems like an awesome game. "I'm not gonna play" out of 10 👍
I read "bethesda" and automatically discarded it

Finally, the first opinion-type game.
5 years in and I'm now enjoying the game
props to you for enjoying rpgs at such a young age
props to you for enjoying rpgs being 5 years in the prison.
8:00 has the Kotor Dantooine music. Its my favorite game of all time and I would love to see a Dunkey video of him playing/reviewing it.
Gamers are always reviewing games, but perhaps it's time for games to review gamers.
This game really makes you feel like a field of stars
The first field type game
@@OPTIMUSL1ME😂
Very original well done 👍
Cold and empty.
Most original comment on a dunky video!!! Gold Plaque
Honestly I think Starfield is Jim Davis' greatest work yet. The part where Cyber Jon had to put down Space Odie had me in tears.
Indeed, it was hilarious!

@@chase52985/10 just for that comment
John Starfield is a legend for this
I like the part where every time our hero travels in hyperspace he always ends up on a monday on another planet
This is one of the best videos about Starfield. Please, continue with this concept of reviews, its really funny to watching it (sorry for my bad english)
as a fellow 90 year old gamer, this game is so good it made me forget to take my dementia medication

Glad to see Bethesda's commitment to consistently putting out games that are at the same time the best and worst of their genre. Masters of the developer paradox
Bethesda made 1 or 2 good games in its history. Its actually a very low quality studio. All their titles are playable thanks to mods.
@@orbit1894 I envy your ignorance of even worse games then lol they’re still a breath of fresh air for me compared to most AAA slop despite all the hang ups
Worst? What?
@k--music What? They are just another AAA studio with the same game style and mechancis that havent changed for 15 years. How are their games any fresh compared to other RPG games? Final Fantasy, Zelda they have reinvented their mechanics every once in a while.
@@sushanthadusumilli1067 I’d take similar core gameplay with some heart behind it, replay value and interesting worlds over the thinly veiled microtransaction machines many games are nowadays. When the biggest “rpgs” for years are the likes of assassin’s creed Valhalla and 1 in 3 games come with a monthly subscription and releases in a broken state im fine with more of the same in a lot of ways. And if you want to bring up Zelda as an example those are my favorite games but until botw they’ve had no more variety than Bethesda, even less in a lot of ways actually. Anyway I’d much rather the biggest complaint be “this is a lot like another great game” than that it be unplayable or paywalled
The funniest bug I have had so far was when Sarah had one of her really important companion story dialogs, and as she was talking to me she slowly glitched away into a wall and the camera just slowly panned to follow her
LOL THAT IS SO FUNNY
Had the same bug, I cleared a room and after I was done, there was this audio log I had to interact with. This started a conversation with Sarah, however I missed one enemy because it ran away, but it came back an started shooting. Sarah engaged in the fight locking me into the follow cam without dialog that I could not quit. Had to reload a part of this mission and lost cool gear that 2 enemies dropped with that. Starfield is mid. 5/10 is reasonable
That's it? Haha ha hah... :|
As a fellow 80 years old gamer, I can confirm that Starfield delivers what it promised, there are stars, and there are fields in the game
Not only that, one of the characters actually says "Starfield" at some point!
@@wemstrumWoah! That’s why they call it that!

As a 2 month old baby, I know there will be nice updates over the years and will improve it that much it will evolve to become more Elder Scroll like in gameplay.
What the 40 year old gamerboy meant was that he last played games in the 80's, hence why he was so impressed.
And yeah, 5/10 is pretty accurate for Starfield.
