11:00 Handsworth Revolution 16:30 Babylon Makes The Rules 21:50 Reggae Fever 33:30 Klu Klux Klan Just the ones i knew off the top of my head, Bless Up!
I can tell you this band was one of the best bands ever. The drummer was a legend and they all sang like angels and just had it. One of the best bands I have ever enjoyed. This Tribute to the martyrs album and concerts were the best of the best.
Vraiment le top du top ce concert... Steel pulse c est au-dessus de tout . Je ne m'en lasse pas. Au point de danser sur ma chaise en l écoutant au taf...
Got to hang with these guys back in the early 90's for a week!!! Just straight up nice guys and thats all I've got to say. Long live the Ewoks and Bear. I know what is.
I saw the steel pulse in London at the Brixton academy in 1982÷85 with my brother phill and his mate Ian and girlfriends both gigs were amazing. Nice one one love long live the steel pulse.
I absolutely love this concert! I've had only audio version of this live about 15 years ago, and at that time I couldn't stop listening to it :) I must say, with video it's even better!
This is one of the greatest live shows I've ever seen! I'm into different genres of music but reggae this good always makes my head nod. The band was on point at Montreux! I saw them at Cali Roots this year and Steel Pulse continued their legendary status. I highly recommend starting this from the beginning and watch it all... I know I don't normally watch all of videos like this. You will be glad you did..
Said we gonna hunt the National Front I've come to a conclusion that is rock against racism Big up these tunes 45 years on!! Handsworth Revolution Lives On
Finally had the pleasure of seeing Steel Pulse last night. These guys played in the same league as Bob Marley & the Wailers. If I'm not mistaken, Steel Pulse was Bob Marley's favorite Reggae band to pipe through the speakers of their tour bus. What better compliment than from the King of Reggae himself. I don't think many people in last night's audience knew how significant Steel Pulse is in Roots Reggae's relatively short history. But that is more the fault of consciously-disabled money grubbing pinhead media suits that don't understand that real music's role has zero to do with lining media company profits. Thank God for youtube especially, where real bands get a fair go via word-of-mouth fans instead of ignorant corporate musical gate keepers that play sh*t that has me reaching for lit road flares to plug my ears. Check Umphrey's McGee and Gov't Mule - both bands unstained by money suits. Their fans get to decide who has it. Many indie and Jam Bands even have recording sections for their fans! And there isn't a f*cking thing corporate media can do about it. Me thinks dat is truly Poetic Justice. Water will always find its own level, even if some would rather drown than float with the changes. Like Bob Marley said: "Dem dat feels it knows it". Mainstream media's ignorance and neglect of many excellent Reggae artists is still almost perfect in its blind stupidity. Granted, Bob Marley is instantly equated with Reggae Music, but most people would succumb to a bovine drool to name another Reggae artist. Reggae is a musical Genre, not just what Bob Marley wrote and played. Bob's spirit can be felt in every authentic Reggae band, regardless of color. Thank You, all of Steel Pulse, for the indescribable Joy you have given me for over thirty years, and especially to making performances like this available to everyone, where it can be shared and where you will continue gaining even more fans and that karma will return to you in more ways than just new fans buying your music.
HI, i remember seeing these guys in Vancouver B.C.Canada in the early 1980s.the album they had just released was Handsworth revolution.awesome show.this video brings back alot of memories, thanks for the upload!
Working in the Kiswahili club at Wayne State University Detroit arguing to sponsor a English reggae band instead of disco band is one of the most satisfying crusades I've ever been on. One of the greatest party nights in Detroit. All the guys loved the girls from Detroit, with the exception of Steve Nesbitt who brought his girl from Scotland. She was such a leader in hair fashion having one side of our hair burgundy and the other green. That was the first time I never seen such radical hair coloring. Being able to organize a after concert rave party in one of abandon factory building in the Motor City was epic.
What a fantastic reggae band. I've seen them several times over the years. They brought reggaemusic to a higher level. Couldn't stop listening to their records and this brought back a lot of great memories.
