Look Real drums. Real guitar Real keyboard Real singers,..........why are we using computers to make music in 2020? Good to see my people showing devotion to the love of music.....let it keep burning 🔥 in the hearts of man.
I'm from Birmingham UK where Steel Pulse are from and also the same people - our heritage is in Jamaica. I first heard of them as a kid at school. We had a real life French woman in our school during French lessons. To this day I'm still trying to learn French, but have since become fluent unexpectedly in Dutch. Anyway, this French lady asked me one day as a school kid what kind of music I like. I said Reggae and I still enjoy Reggae. Then she went into it, stating that she travelled with Steel Pulse across continental Europe acting as a translator. As a grown man I moved to the Netherlands and have met so many people like this very kind, open French lady - white people who are really into Reggae. Steel Pulse - Top, top band!!
Saw them many times in nyc late 80s-90s always amazing. One show outside in front of the Intrepid aircraft carrier he smoked a 15” long spliff jumping around d the stage singing it was so funny and awesome 😎 they’re the best I don’t listen to much roots reggae anymore but I still need my steele pulse hit every so often it’s the band that’s stuck w me the most
I saw Steel Pulse only one time and that was circa 1981 at UC Berkeley. Sold out show with everyone on their feet dancing the entire time. They were at the top of their game. I'll never forget that show. Although I must admit it's a little bit hazy because there was so much Humboldt County smoke in the air! ❤💛💚
I was the crew chief and stage manager for this show. The headline act was Gladys Knight with the Boston Pops. Also on the bill was The Neville Brothers and a half dozen local acts.
Got my start 1978, with Wailing souls and Peter tosh. Been Jamaica tree time. Lived Africa, Madagascar. Better late than ever. Chant down Babylon Africa we are all African Ethiopia Addis Ababa Selassie I creation 🍄🪘🍄🌍🍄🦎🍄🇺🇲🍄🧬🍄🇯🇲🍄🇿🇦🍄🦁🍄🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🍄
Man These people had NO IDEA that amazingness was happening right behind them! There were quite a few Vinyarder's tho who knew what's up and had the BEST TIME of their lives! ONe of the Best shows they've ever been to.
WOW Steele Pulse was sending the vibe no doubt! Ini can see and hear this concert with champion sound big up to the band coming with nothing but Spiriual Professionalism
Saw them in Steamboat about 5 years ago for the first time since listening to them from the 80’a and beyond... they are even tighter live!! I almost cried
Grew up San Rafael Marin county San Francisco California. Brother, surfer introduced I and I to reggae when I was ten. Gave me Wailing souls firehouse rock and Peter tosh equal rights. This was 1980🍄🌞🪘🍄🌍🍄🦎🍄🇿🇦🍄🇯🇲🍄🦁🍄🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🍄
Saw them I think it was 1992 at edgefield in troutdale Oregon. Excellent band and show period. Good people don’t see “color”. We see GOOD or BAD people. Quit listening to media.
Sad... just sad. Fantastic live performance and there's like six people there. At least when they played at the Marin County Fair a couple of years back, we packed the place in and it was JAMMIN'!!! Definitely a lot of people from outside of Marin showed up that night from other areas of the Bay Area (including ourselves) and indeed one of the best live reggae performers out there today. If they're in your neck of the woods, it's work the effort.
I totally agree Mr. King. It's likely the wrong audience being so upscale a geography. Still good they played there though. Regardless, H.I.M. message needs to be spread everywhere. Bless.

I have seen Steel Pulse twice over the past 5 or so years. The first time was outdoors at a regional city arts festival -- they were totally absent of any real energy or enthusiasm - and they didn't even turn it up, it was low volume. The second time was in a smaller indoor venue, and they were just soft, no edge to the music. I wonder if they have lost that inspiration they used to have? Maybe its time to retire? I used to LOVE them back in the 80's and 90's... anymore? I'd rather stay home and watch a good show on Netflix.
I saw them in September of '19 and they were full of energy. Let's not forget they are getting up there in age but I think the release of their album Mass Manipulation put that fire back in their souls.
