One of the best Reggae groups ever. Exceptional.
yea ...¡¡¡¡ la mia tambien¡¡¡¡
Absolutely!
Out of England yeah, they are on the list along with: Black Uhuru, Asward and on and on. There were and are far too many wicked bands, roots whatever for you to make that statement. Oh, and let's not forget Jahmeika! Hello.
@@impoallen4060
I said one of the best ever based on their reputation, actual experience, and the acclaims they have received throughout their years as a band so I stand by what I posted 🤷.
@@mervynqueeley2106 No problem.
One of the very best bands I’ve ever heard in my life.
Word up!..After Bob and the Wailers,Third World we got Steel Pulse..Best Reggae Musicians...Roots Rocking..tight..precise..Reggae 4ever
So sad this song is 41 years old and still relevant💔 BLM✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
I saw them live at the Greek Theatre in 1988. It was amazing.
Watching this performance once again love seeing them live it’s 2024
"I say: The people of Handsworth
Know that one hand wash the other (so they say)
So, let's join hands my bredren
Make the way for our children (our children, our children)
And their children (their children, their children)
Ensuring that they get life's fair share of, equality...
Doesn't justice stand for all?
Doesn't justice stand for all?
Doesn't justice stand for all mankind?
We find society putting us down
Crowning us, crowning us, crowning us, crowning us
A place of evil, oh, oh
Handsworth means us the black people
Handsworth means us the black people
We're talking now, speaking Jah Jah language!
It's a long, long way we're coming from
To send this message across, across
Its been hidden, forbidden, concealed, unrevealed
Its got to come out In the open that
Babylon is falling!
Babylon is falling!
It was foolish to build it on the sand
Handsworth shall stand, firm - like Jah rock - fighting back
We once beggars are now choosers, no intention to be losers
Striving forward with ambition
And if it takes ammunition
We rebel in Handsworth revolution
Dread town, dread town, dread town
Dread town, dread town, dread town
Dread we are for a cause, deprived of many things
Experienced phoney laws, hatred Babylon brings
We know what you got to offer, we know what's going on
Don't want no favours, 'cause there is still hunger
Innocent convicted, poor wage, hard labour
Only Babylon prospers and humble suffer
They are brothers in south of Africa
One black represent all, all over the world
Can't bear it no longer, blessed with the power
Of Jah Creator, we will get stronger
And we will conquer
And forward ever, and backward never
Handsworth Revolution...!"✊
Quem está escutando e vendo em 2021? Anyone in 2021 during coronavirus blocking?
❤❤❤❤❤❤only in my dreams I’m there
They say Bob Marley that takes reggae music international but steel pulse was the opening act for him all over Europe
Went to see them at The Birmingham Odeon doing this tour in 1979, I was 13 years old and I still love this band....Long may they continue to tour/record
I wonder how many people who listen to this even know where Handsworth is, or what it is like there.
SP always manages to bring a tear to my eye, definitely one of the best bands ever.
For our children AND THEIR children 💚💛❤️
The bredda at the back with the Moors clothes on. Proper from dem times.
UK Roots Music telling you how it was and still is ...Truth and Rights.🙏🏾🌍
The Magicians of Reggae Music. Blessed is the STEEL PULSE
That break down was cold
You’ll Badd I’m serious I watch all you guys videos and have a lot of you guys music stay smooth.
If there was no steel pulse there would have been no UB40 and the two tone movement would not have been what it was. This was the music that started to cut the politics and galvanize the working class.
Przy tej muzyce czytałem "Pana samochodzika". I potem przez dziesiątki lat ta muzyka kojarzyła mi się z tą serią książek.
Genialna muzyka !
Music for a thousand generations 🎉
*JUST SAW THEM 3 DAYS AGO … LOL*
*ONE OF THE BEST BANDS STILL AROUND*
the best reggae band outside of jamaica
Saw them in concert in Dominica in '82 or '83.
It rained cats and dogs that night, and I got drenched to the bone, refusing to move from my spot.
Great show that was.
Massive fan of their music forever.

Best reggae band EVER...RIP Grizzly
This song always makes my day, born in the 90’s and grew up with this music because my father listened this the whole sunday every sunday
the best reggae band of history
Mauro Zonta and Bob Marley
and dem from my town
Sin duda amigo.
Pulso de acero
You talking with ignorance and it's a shame: The Heptones, Jacob Miller, Peter Tosh, The Abyssinians it's names like these, that bands like Steel Pulse came from and they would be the first to tell you.
Seen this band at Hammerjacks in Baltimore. Early 80's. What a great show in an Intimate setting.
crucial ridem, vocals, harmonies, lyrical content, a band for the ages, grizzly, stepper, basil, phonso, selwyn, david, had a chance to open for them in seattle way way wayy back in the day, true inspiration! yes "one hand washes the other...let's make a way for our children & their children...." righT oN!
RIP Grizzly. 1st four albums were the best but True Democracy and Earth Crisis are right up there.
His performance was revolutionary for music and transgressor
"Handsworth revolution" and "caught you" too
A true innovator and an amazing person to meet, him and Phonso. Happy memories.
I was born in handsworth Birmingham. Great band
The drummer❤
Maximum love from Handsworth!!!
Definitive Brummie Roots - more than stood the test of time... Birmingham has spawned so many music legends it's almost beyond belief.... Stevie Winwood for one!!!! Best Live Reggae Band I've ever seen and seen em a few times in the UK and in Germany.... Marley I saw in Dublin and it seriously bored me to death!

This is so f***ing awesome. The best line-up and one of my fav songs. Forward ever, backward never!
This is a crap performance, keys not even in the right key, tempo all over the map. If you think this is awesome I'm going to guess you're not actually a working musician, are you.
Brilliant group, gets me dancing ! Positive vibes x
Só de escutar uma música dessa meu dia já melhora.

Rip Steve Grizzly Nisbett
They have a very tight rhythm.
+rsaathoff yes, they were at their best at that time, from 1979 till 1985, afterwards they never again equalled themselves, they were really very tight and powerful on scene ... in this set up, they were at their best -))) !!
+Yves Daems The last album I followed with them was "True Democracy". Great album but some of these first runs were great. Saw them live in the late 80s.
My friends
Yeeeeeeees!!!!!
I see them also as a rock band.
💚🌞💖

Imagine David Hinds side with Malcolm X both preaching Revolution .
2:34 os caras mudam o ritmo de um jeito muito fácil...e todos músicos dançando, curtindo o show. Muito massa

Where is Alvin Ewen?
No no no. This is the original band line up (save Mikhel Riley) in 79. Alvin joined the band much later in 86....
@@lawrencenjawe1935
I know this is the original line up - I know Alvin when he used to play with Mel Day's Band Sharp Edge- in and around Soho Road in Handsworth ( anyone remembers The Rialto Club??) - just wanted to know where Alvin is now :) Thanks
@@Bangkok007 Oh, I see..Well I've been wondering likewise. Hope any You tuber comes up with the answer.
