Wow, I spent around $2k working with a reputable manual therapist to relieve jaw tension. He and I both gave up on the treatments because they weren’t working. I have been putting up with jaw tension for almost 4 years. Then I stumbled across this video earlier this week and have done 2 sets of 25 circlings in both directions twice a day for the past 6 days. I am getting significant improvement, especially noticeable when I lay down to sleep at night. Thank you for revealing this very strange but effective exercise.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I could never imagine anyone doing such a video as this. I did the 25 circles each side and it feels like my upper jaw muscles went to the gym. My face hurts from my jowls to just below my eyes. I never imagined so many muscles in the face are involved in this. I can feel that this is like a natural facelift. Fantastic video excellent data thank you so much, best wishes

It's crazy huh? I did this shtuff as a kid cuz I was a weird one. The jaw gets sore but when you can open it and your jaw cracks, your shoulder core muscles sink in and stability comes from the feet and hips... it's incredible
Edit: I should say it's been a few decades since I trained at all. I've gotten married, kids, a career and have grown up and left childish things behind... now my back hurts, can't bend over, tongue sucked to my lower teeth. One foot pulling up, one crushing down and leaning. Head forward looking at my screen.
My suggestion: do childish things and touch some grass. ❤ roll around on the ground an hang upside down

This is the kind of thing that gets me pumped about being a human.
A few years ago i discovered that exaggerated facial expressions helped me to process repressed emotions. There are so many muscles in our face and head, and so many limiting beliefs in society about what "acceptable behavior" is. From a young age we pick up on societal ques to repress facial expressions, body movements, stretchs, the urge to run and play, sing and dance, make random noises.
Thank you for sharing such a simple exercise with such powerful benefits.

I was born with my tongue stuck to the mandible, no mobility whatsoever. Nobody noticed it. I struggle hugely, learning difficulties plus bullied as I couldn't speak properly. They thought I was autistic or "retard" this was the 70's. At age 9 the school authorities decided to transferring me to a special needs school as I repeated 3 times 2nd year. I internally knew I was intelligent but I couldnt express myself. The last teacher that carried out the transfer assessment, kindly asked me to stick out my tongue and the rest is story - I remember her face a mix of surprise, happiness and anger, that nobody else assessed my tongue before, At 10 I went into surgery and my tongue was released and that little kid of me started thriving and I never stopped learning. Thank you for sharing this exercise hugely important.

I had a serious neck injury from helping lift a piano about 6 years ago. I am also a singer and whenever I would sing afterwards the notes would get all choked off and I would experience severe throat pain on the back right side of my throat. I never knew how to properly release this tension for years. Of course, I did everything I could to minimize pain by doing vocal exercises, stretching, doing yoga, eating healthier etc. But it never truly released that muscle deep in my throat/neck. The tightness got so bad, that it was difficult to swallow foods, breath a full breath of air, and speak for extended periods of time. In fact, I couldn't get enough air in my lungs because of the tightness, which fatigued my voice. As a result, my diaphragm suffered and felt this sharp pain that also made me feel like I had a hernia.. It kept getting worse, UNTIL I began focusing on my tongue..
I was shown an exercise where I was to stick out my tongue and hum scales up and down. After this---years of sharp pain in my throat---completely went away in just 10 minutes, and suddenly I could breath through my right nostril..IT WAS MY TONGUE THE WHOLE DAMN TIME! Then, this video in particular shows up in my timeline.. The anatomy trains image of the fascia clears up my years of questions regarding my deep pain. This is the best and most niche content that I have ever seen lol. Thank you!!

I have done it on and off after how much strain i could give my muscles and my tongue. Ever since the video was uploaded 4 weeks ago.
Right now in this moment i am writing this: about 15 minutes ago, my tongue, throat, back neck and jaw moved upwards and inwards (towards my back) and my hearing became normal again, ( ive lived under water for years obviously), my bite is good also, i felt it off for years now and had bite issues, gridint teeth etc etc, lots of trauma from past, ptsd etc, but its all good!... The past 4 days my hips and lower abdomen have been hurting like i was doing gymnastics.

Follow up to previous comment - I just had a massage, and while laying on my belly with face in the "cradle" I was able to breathe through my nose almost the entire time. There were about 5 minutes where I had to breathe through my mouth, yet my sinuses weren't super full like they usually get when I am laying face down. After several minutes of mouth breathing I was able to breathe through my nose for the remainder of the session. This is a first! Typically my sinuses completely plug up and I am miserable during the face down portion of the massage, so today was another game changer. I have been doing these tongue circle exercises twice a day since 9 days ago, and I am now up to 35 circles each direction. Thank you so much for this incredible tongue therapy. Fingers crossed this will help with my foot issues. Time will tell. Bottom line, I will not stop doing this goofy tongue exercise EVER! It's so easy to fit in to a busy schedule and it works!

    • @tracymoss7210
      @tracymoss7210 4 місяці тому

@@davidf1211 My journey has been so confusing. So many muscles are involved in my dysfunction that I can't tell where it's coming from. My pain is from muscle tension on the right side of my body: TFL, erector spinae, psoas, QL, adductors, all around my lower leg (my ankle locks up because of muscle tension). I have pain in my lower leg and deep in my hip. I had two bad ankle sprains that contributed to muscle imbalances (which didn't cause pain until recently). Then after squatting with light weight, the imbalances shifted my pelvis and I've been in pain for 1.5 years. My current physical therapist is focused on building my right glute medius and maximus. The exercises are helping me activate those muscles, but I still have pain. It's like my pelvis isn't in the correct position to use those muscles in day to day activity. I'm going to see a posture specialist tomorrow. I keep seeing content about PRI and I'm curious about it since it's a holistic approach to treating the body. What are you experiencing?

Just gave this a try for the first time. I feel more alert. And, weirdly, the awful discomfort I've been feeling (and often do feel) in my neck/upper back & shoulders/head changed. In a way I feel more pain, but it feels "good" if that makes sense. Maybe it's the pain coming after the release of some of the tension.
I found it impossible to get my tongue fully over my top row of teeth without moving my jaw, so I settle with just tracing the inside of the lip itself. Maybe I'll get more reach as I practice? And I'll definitely keep practicing. Thank you so much for this exercise, and the work you do.

Holy crap, doc. I’ve had a problem with one side of my tongue (I think for my whole life, only noticed it a couple years ago tho) where one side of my tongue doesn’t swallow?
An extension to this (I’m positive they’re related, but maybe not) the same side as this I have other symptoms: that sinus is blocked 90% of the time, that ear “crunches” when I move my jaw around (and is prone to infection in the Eustachian tube) and finally that same LUNG doesn’t work properly - like it doesn’t cough when I cough, and sometimes really restricts my breathing.
But I just did this exercise for 25 reps each direction and MY TONGUE FEELS LIKE ITS SWALLOWING PROPERLY.
