Led Zeppelin has so many great tunes and in many different styles its hard to recommend one favorite so I guess you will haver to do them all LOL -- Try When the Levy Breaks or Dazed and Confused next
This live version of "No Quarter" is my favorite recording of Led Zeppelin. The way Page's solo goes from rock into jazz vibes with the moody backing instruments and Plant's pitch perfect voice transitioning from soft suspenseful storytelling to emotional wailing.
You should listen to the studio version of "No Quarter". Then if you want to see how much talent these guys have, check out "Since I've Been Loving You" studio version from the Led Zeppelin III album. It drips with blues sauce. Eventually, you will need to do the live video of "Kashmir" from the 2007 Celebration Day Concert held in London's O2 Arena. The whole concert is fantastic and even though these guys were showing their age, they sounded better than ever.
The thing about Led Zeppelin is that they never put out a bad song, every song on every one of their original albums is at least good if not great. You cant say that about any other band. They were simply on another level. Four amazing musicians who found each other and created a legacy.
Hands down great song, one of favorite song of Zeppelin. I remember first hearing them in 1969 and instantly was hooked. I saw them in concert 1977 for my 20th birthday better ever. I am a Tool fan. Great reaction.
SO MANY MASTERPIECES FROM ONE BAND IS OUTSTANDING IN MY OPINION AND THEY ARE THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME FOR ME! CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING IN THAT STUDIO WHEN THEY WERE RECORDING THESE TRACKS!!
So many great Led Zeppelin songs if you want to go down the rabbit hole! "Whole Lotta Love", "Black Dog", "Stairway to Heaven" (I could go on and on) One of my favorites is their most recent performance of "Kashmir" live from Celebration Day (official video) Led Zeppelin formed in the late 60's & in many peoples views is the best rock band ever. There is no other singer like Robert Plant.
Here we go, time to get the Led out! Check out Led Zeppelin- kashmir (studio) Then watch the live version at celebration day. The celebration day version is their first show in 20+ years after they broke up because of the death of their drummer John Bonham. The drummer in the celebration day video is John's son who absolutely crushed it. No other person could have filled those shoes the way his son did. Simply amazing.
My most favorite song ever, literally named my cat after this song. It takes you on at least three journeys into deep rabbit holes. Introduces you to aliens and gods alike. Definitely a soul toucher.
Zeppelin IS my favorite band. They never put out a bad song, and Tool is following in their footsteps. They're huge footsteps to fill, but Tool does it admirably. Much like Tool, Zeppelin is comprised of four absolute masters - Jimmy Page, the absolute legendary lead guitarist, Robert Plant, the golden god of singers, John Paul Jones, the multi-instrumentalist with the amazing bass lines, and John Bonham, the thunder on the drums, who sadly died young, and destroyed the greatest rock-blues band the world had ever seen...or heard. You'd have trouble going wrong, diving into their discography - a few greats that have popped into my mind at the moment: Kashmir, an incredible trip of a song; Moby Dick (live), with possibly the greatest drum solo ever, and When the Levee Breaks, blues at its finest.
Led Zeppelin is on the Mount Rushmore with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who. The best of the best--if you dive deep on them live and in studio you'll truly appreciate it.

Led Zeppelin 1, 3, 4, and Physical Graffiti are my favorite albums. I would start with some stuff from their first album. Favorite songs from the first album: Good Times Bad Times Babe I'm Gonna Leave You You Shook Me Dazed and Confused How Many More Times
Tool were in diapers and listening to the GOATS of Zep, long before they ever played with their own tools. NO ONE can play the true sounds of the MASTERS!
You said you loved the bass riffs; at the time JRJ was playing the keyboards with his hands and the bass riffs with pedals under his keyboard. Zep was so ahead of their time. I'm old enough to remember it. I saw Led Zeppelin live 5 times. Led Zep came out in 1969 or so.
Led Zepplin is a deep dive into music history. One of my favorites is a song called the battle of evermore, but you can't go wrong with Stairway to Heaven, Kashmier or just about anything out of their library. Pink Floyd is also a band with amazing music.
I love Tool and Led Zeppelin both. Just like Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Trying to compare these groups or musicians is like trying to compare Picasso and Michelangelo . There is no comparison they are all master artists. I’m glad you’re going to go down the Led Zeppelin road, because you will be amazed.

You missed the whole second half of the song...the incredible jaw dropping guitar solo by Page. You need to find the full live version of this song from this same concert at Madison Square Garden 1973....50 years ago, so very much before Tool.
Song is No Quarter, singular. The title is derived from the military practice of showing no mercy to a vanquished opponent and from the brave act of not asking for mercy when vanquished.
If you like bluesy stuff, do The Lemon Song. Pay attention to the bass line from JPJ. It's hard, I know, with Bonzo, Plant, and Page killing it on their respective instruments, but Jonesy absolutely kills it on the bass, especially during the little "break down" section
Yes! I got the first 2 LZ albums when I was 13/14 years old. The bass line of “Lemon Song” has been ingrained in my head all of these years. As I’ve gotten older my appreciation for John Paul Jones has grown so much that I feel he’s not noticed as much as I would like. His work on keyboards is stellar.
Led Zeppelin was around from 1968 to 1980, and ended after prolific touring and releasing 8 studio albums, with the untimely death of drummer John Bonham. Jimmy Page was an influence on basically every guitarist to come after. I wouldn't be surprised if that included Adam Jones. Page may very well be the GOAT. This live clip was about maybe half of the song, and you should check out the studio recording. Other massive hits are Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Dazed and Confused, Since I've Been Loving You, Immigrant Song, When the Levee Breaks, In My Time of Dying, of course Stairway to Heaven, soooo many others that it's silly to even try to put into one sentence. Go down this rabbit hole Polo, it's totally worth it.
We can all agree that Tool is amazing...and their rendition of "No Quarter" was a tribute and not just an outstanding cover. The fact that this song is 50 years old, blows my mind.
"Whole Lotta Love", "Black Dog", "Stairway to Heaven" (I could go on and on)
One of my favorites is their most recent performance of "Kashmir" live from Celebration Day (official video)
Led Zeppelin formed in the late 60's & in many peoples views is the best rock band ever.
There is no other singer like Robert Plant.
Here we go, time to get the Led out! Check out Led Zeppelin- kashmir (studio)
Then watch the live version at celebration day.
RIP John Best ever😢
One of my favourites song so beautiful and mysterious
Tool wasn't born when Zeppelin was performing
Yes they were. Bonham passed when I was 7. Maynard is 9 years older than I am, so Zeppelin was definitely playing when they were in their early teens.
You should definitely do more Led Zeppelin reactions. You won't be disappointed.
Best Led Zep song.... Since I've been loving you....especially if you like slow tempo bluesy rock
Led Zeppelin is on the Mount Rushmore with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who. The best of the best--if you dive deep on them live and in studio you'll truly appreciate it.
Lol take the Beatles off that mount Rushmore and the rolling stones and replace them with pink floyd and the doors
@@dangusrangus They'd both be close for me my man...somewhere in top 10 for sure
@RJ ya but the Beatles? I mean do the Beatles really stand a chance against floyd ?
@@dangusrangus "I mean do the Beatles really stand a chance against floyd ?"
Subjectively, maybe not. Objectively, absolutely. Record sales, pioneering stadium concerts a decade before Floyd, influence on song writers, critical acclaim, the acclaim of other musicians, etc., etc., etc.... All objectively in the favor of the Beatles. And all in a recording career of less than 8 years.
And subjectively, I've significantly preferred Floyd since my brother took me to see The Wall movie in the theatres at first release in the 80's.
@IRGeamer well floyd sold wayy more records and influenced more sounds and lyrics from musicians I think history is too kind to the Beatles. They really didn't influence much but they did get credit for it
Believe it or not the band Great white does an amazing job on this song. Give it a listen. It's on an album called "Great Zeppelin" Jack the singer is a huge Zeppelin fan and the whole album is a live performance of Zeppelin songs.
This is a trippy way to introduce yourself to Led Zeppelin, one of the biggest bands ever. They had a tight and consistent run of 8 albums in 11 years (1968-1980). Led Zeppelin 1, 3, 4, and Physical Graffiti are my favorite albums. I would start with some stuff from their first album.
Favorite songs from the first album:
Good Times Bad Times
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
You Shook Me
Dazed and Confused
How Many More Times
No Quarter = No Mercy Or Pity Given To An Enemy/To Treat Harshly.
You have to listen to all their Albums to know how Great they were. I Saw them three times in the 70’s. They were the Best!🎸🎶✌🏽🤙🏽👍🏽😎
Led Zeppelin leaves me speechless… cont on the Led Zeppelin music promise you will not be disappointed.
Led Zepplin= Epitome of "Rock 'n Roll"
This is known.
That version you played is sacred. Thank you for being respectful. You are a cool guy. Total respect for you!
Tool were in diapers and listening to the GOATS of Zep, long before they ever played with their own tools. NO ONE can play the true sounds of the MASTERS!
One of their best songs ever!!What a journey..The composition is unbelievable!!
Killing with the goosebumps on the guitar - that's mighty Jimmy Page! Tks for reaction to my favorite band!!!
Awesome to see you getting into led zeppelin, they were an amazing band. U should def check out Kashmir, when the levee breaks, and baby I'm gonna leave you. Three of my fav zeppelin tracks!
No Quarter is the closest I've seen to a magical song. The chemistry in the song is incredible.
Oh there’s soooo much more magic
Led Zeppelin is best in rock there is no such thing a bad Zeppelin song. All are Great!💯❤️🔥😎👍🥰🎸🎤🎼🎹
So glad you listened to both. Zepplin was started late 60s…their music is great front man Robert Plant has pipes all around great band. Babe I’m Gonna Leave you, Since I’ve Been Loving You, Kashmir, just to touch on a few, of course Stairway To Heaven. I think you will enjoy this band ✌️♥️
Hi polo it gives me real pleasure watching your reaction to led zeppelin I first heard them in 1971 and saw the 3 nights on the trot at Earl's court london the cost of each ticket was £3😅 in my opinion no band gets near them ! ENJOY
Nice you did the TSRTS version.
Amazing solo
Edit: WTF
THIS WASNT EVEN THE ENTIRE SONG.
SKIPPED THE BEST PART!!!
I Have MANY Favorites By Led Zeppelin,, But If I Could Only Choose One,, It Would Be "No Quarter"...I Would Strongly Suggest Listening To The Studio Version As Well.
Thank you for putting out these videos, Polo. Your intelligent commentaries add to an already deep appreciation and much gratitude I have for all things music. Keep killin it, brother!
I Am A True Lover Of Music As Well & I Have Listened To MANY Different Music Reactors & I Couldn't Agree With You More..That Is Not Coming From Your Average Casual Listener,, Because I Am Also A Former Singer/Songwriter/Musician..I Guess I Must Also Have An Extensive Knowledge Of Groups/Artists/Songs/Trivia,, Because Whenever My Friends/People That Know Me Have ANY Question About Music,, They Always Say Pretty Much The Same Thing,, "Hey,, Let's Go Ask "Happy" (Me) Because He Will Definitely Know"..Which I Have Always Found To Be Kind Of Funny 🤪(And A Compliment)..You Are 100% Correct That Polo Kills It With His Reactions,, Always Open-Minded & On Point.
One of their best songs ever!!What a journey..The composition is unbelievable!!j
You missed the whole second half of the song...the incredible jaw dropping guitar solo by Page. You need to find the full live version of this song from this same concert at Madison Square Garden 1973....50 years ago, so very much before Tool.
Led Zeppelin is the G.O.A.T!
Anything you wanna play is great...
Some songs are awesome!
ROCK GOD'S!!!
Check out the studio version Polo, dig your reactions.
I've been listening to "you Shook Me" I think you'll enjoy it a lot!!
You can't beat PERFECT thats why ZEP is the BEST
JPJ is absolutely legendary!
I think Led Zep II is JPJ’s best album imo
This is the BIGGEST RABBIT HOLE of them all!! The GOATS imo. Studio version of this is a must my friend. Luv it thx bro!
Please also check out "Since I've been Loving You" by Led Zeppelin, too! I think you'll dig it.
We can all agree that Tool is amazing...and their rendition of "No Quarter" was a tribute and not just an outstanding cover. The fact that this song is 50 years old, blows my mind. I grew up with Zeppelin as it was happening and was even lucky enough to see them live in 77(still have the ticket stub) Hell, I remember buying this album at the record store when it was released.and hearing this song for the first time,... wearing Koss headphones, lying on the shag carpeted floor of my Dad's study...I was blown away! It's a shame this was an abbreviated version.
Describes a hold of that inner peace, that you can't see but you know it's there... It's your everything and anything and all between
Led Zeppelin is the best rock and roll band of all time. Everything else is just imitation. Some better than others, but none will be as good.
If you're not getting goosebumps with live No Quarter... you aren't human. Get the whole album of The Song Remains The Same. You're welcome!
Led Zeppelin is my first favorite band. When I was 12 my step dad turned me on to them and I just fell into them hard. Lol freaking cassette tapes in the early 90s. Then Cds around 95'. I had to replace all my tapes with remastered cds lol. So much good music. Like tool not a single terrible song.
