The rhythm section in this band is second to NONE. Having that level of drum and bass is just insane from the start but when you consider how perhaps the least renowned member of this band, John Paul Jones, was already an arranger and keyboard player and multi-instrumentalist for many many other bands before Led Zeppelin- HUNDREDS of sessions as studio director, music director, and worked with the absolute cream of the crop of bands from this era... it starts to give you an understanding of the DEPTH of this bands musical virtuosity. His Wikipedia page is pretty mind-boggling.
Led Zeppelin has always been and will always be my favorite band. You cannot imagine how awesome it was growing up in the 70s will all the new music that was coming out at that time. AMAZING!
Number one tool can’t hold a candle to ledzeppelin period Zeppelin is the only performers to be considered as gods. Best lead singer, best guitar player, best drummer, best Oregon mandolin, six string 12 string player. Simply the greatest of all time..
Considering half the riffs they ripped off were from blues artists, including Page using Joan Baez cords for Babe I am going to Leave you , and Spirits guitar part for Stairway to Heavan I am not so sure they are the greatest in contrast to the Beatles who were far more experimental and diverse in song writing. That said I am still a big fan of theirs.
Amateurs borrow professionals steal! Yeah they used riffs from Robert Johnson to Willie Dixon and made them there own,plus the out of court settlements they were paid far outweighed what they actually got paid when they recorded them! In the end everyone was happy and in all fairness it brought the Delta Blues into the mainstream and those that liked Zeppelin had no choice but to go back and hear the origins of this music
Nobody’s Fault But Mine was written and performed by Blind Willie Johnson in 1927. If you love the Zep (and I certainly do), seek out some of their inspirations and love the music that turned them on! ❤ 👍👍
indeed, also you may like to listen to Sonny Boy Williamson and Howlin Wolf, both of which I was led to by Led Zeppelin, they were inspired by those original blues artists too. Try playing the original Bring It on Home, and then Zeppelins version, such a delight for the ears.
If you love Bonham’s drums, and Plant’s harmonica, the obvious next choice would be When The Levee Breaks. One of the most sampled drum parts in history, btw. You might decide, as many reactors have done before you, that this is a band that simply demands being heard from the first track on their first album, chronologically through to at least their sixth album. I found a freaking LZ 1975 tour T-shirt at a thrift store (this century version) for $2 bucks and I can’t get the Pachouli smell out of it and it doesn’t matter at all and I love it so much 😆🎉💥💗✌️

The fact that this is your favorite Zep song so far is great. Respect. It is one of their masterpieces from late in their career. Bonham obliterates the earth with his drumming, and Robert wails on the harmonica better than I’ve ever heard. This is how a band should sound. This is the real stuff.
Not much to add, to all these comments. I love watching and hearing you react to my favorite band. It makes me smile, like it's the first time I've ever heard the song. All of their stuff is crazy good ! Start from album 1 and follow up with the next, then the next and so on, you'll not regret it.
Actually Hot Dog is a great rockabilly song, it just may not be to one's liking because of that, whereas for me, I think it's one of the best rockabilly songs I've ever heard, and would be a number one hit for any band that played that style of music
This band created the template for hard rock for over half a century afterward. So much of what they did, they did for the first time but the innovations became so standard that we often take for granted just how new this kind of sound was at the time.
Zepp was innovation pure .Every Album a milestone and New !! Sky on the road of Rock and beside Purple leaving a stigma for all the other bands what is got to be achieved as a Powerhouse ...These are the Fab 4 of Rock ...absolutely amazing and never equaled .period.

A top tier Zeppelin tune. Fair, you can say that about most of them. The singer recorded this album from a wheelchair, recuperating from a bad car accident.
Imagine seeing them before they knew about hearing damage twenty rows back and they play at this intensity for over three hours with the sound traveling right thru your body. The best concert I ever attended.

Also on the same record was In My Time of Dying which is another LZ song. This guy was a gospel singer who played with a blues (delta blues) style. Both his and Led Zepps songs are stunning. Have been singing this albums praises for a few years. The 2016 remasters did wonders for this album, that’s when I rediscovered it lol. Was always my least fave . Now it’s ranks top led zeppelin for me.

I love Led Zeppelin. Their musical influences came from the blues from the Deep South of Black America. I’ve seen Robert Plant , the lead singer 4 times with his fantastic ensemble, the Sensational Spaceshifters. Truly a gifted rock group, Led Zeppelin, such great talent! You should review their song, When the Levee Breaks …. You will hear the blues influences from America.

Keep in mind, I was only 5 y/o when this song came out, but it was on regular rotation on the radio stations and is part of the soundtrack of my life. I feel so blessed to witness another generation hear/experience it and be moved as I was at 5 and I'm still moved at 52years old. I got this album in 1979 for Christmas and I didn't even ask for it. I was heavily into Kiss and Mom thought I might like something a lil different. Thank's Mom! Presence is a great album.
Can you imagine hearing this blaring out of car in the high school parking lot? I got to experience this stuff. I knew it was great, but as the years and decades have gone by, I really recognize how good it really was. We took this music for granted. We had every expectation this kind of greatness would continue. But it didn't. At least we (and everybody else) can listen to it. It has stood the test of time. I have my memories and all that from then. But, those memories have been somewhat been replaced by seeing the generations after me getting into this. I love the off-kilterness of Bonham's drums. He was brilliant.

Thanks for this great reaction! This has long been one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs... and given how much I enjoy the rest of their catalog, that's saying something. I frequently request my favorite reactors to do this song, but given that it's on the band's most obscure album ("Presence," 1976), it often gets overlooked, which is a shame. The harmonica solo by vocalist Robert Plant is one of the baddest stretches of harmonica playing I've ever heard. Anyway, great reaction!

I love Led Zeppelin. Their musical influences came from the blues from the Deep South of Black America. I’ve seen Robert Plant , the lead singer 4 times with his fantastic ensemble, the Sensational Spaceshifters. Truly a gifted rock group, Led Zeppelin, such great talent! You should review their song, When the Levee Breaks …. You will hear the blues influences from America.

Keep in mind, I was only 5 y/o when this song came out, but it was on regular rotation on the radio stations and is part of the soundtrack of my life. I feel so blessed to witness another generation hear/experience it and be moved as I was at 5 and I'm still moved at 52years old. I got this album in 1979 for Christmas and I didn't even ask for it. I was heavily into Kiss and Mom thought I might like something a lil different.

Can you imagine hearing this blaring out of car in the high school parking lot? I got to experience this stuff. I knew it was great, but as the years and decades have gone by, I really recognize how good it really was. We took this music for granted. We had every expectation this kind of greatness would continue. But it didn't. At least we (and everybody else) can listen to it. It has stood the test of time. I have my memories and all that from then. But, those memories have been somewhat been replaced by seeing the generations after me getting into this.
I love the off-kilterness of Bonham's drums. He was brilliant.
By the way John Bonham play drums for Zeppelin along with Neil Peart (Rush) was Danny Carey's two biggest influences 🌀

Thanks for this great reaction! This has long been one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs... and given how much I enjoy the rest of their catalog, that's saying something. I frequently request my favorite reactors to do this song, but given that it's on the band's most obscure album ("Presence," 1976), it often gets overlooked, which is a shame. The harmonica solo by vocalist Robert Plant is one of the baddest stretches of harmonica playing I've ever heard. Anyway, great reaction!
