@ Assasin - The shows are like that, but I'm a Yank and most Americans I know aren't like that at all. And when given the chance to see programs from the UK, we prefer those - less fuss, less bullshit drama.
There's a reason most of us in the states prefer UK versions of shows(besides maybe the office). They don't make a giant effort to try to go over the top all the time, but it makes no sense cause when we do go over the top we cut it out like bleeping profanity lol. We are very confused.
After going through a bunch of the U.S seasons, this one is dramatically calmer. No drama or drum beats. No one screaming (so far into the episode). It's amazing...XD
Yeah even marco pierres hells kitchen is more calmer ... I think american tv is obviously selling entertainment .. My friend said he got an interview for hells kitchen in the u.s and they said he was to good to be on the show they just want entertainment
bloody hell what a pleasure it is to watch this version of kitchen nightmares.. I started with the US version which shook me back and forth every time i watch it. Its like, getting on rollercoster. This UK version is calmer, sincere, and just a sweet pleasure to watch. More humane.

Stuart was one of the best chefs to ever appear on a KN episode by far. To clarify some earlier comments. Stuart does not have a michelin star, he has 2 AA rosettes. He has worked at restaurants that have earned a michelin star, if the chef that earns you a michelin star leaves, the restaurant still keeps that star even if they no longer have a michelin star chef (there's a restaurant in Wales featured in another KN episode where they have a michelin star but the chef who had got them it had left), providing they can maintain the same standards (most can't - hence why they usually replace like-for-like).
Nope, he got a job in a Michelin star restaurant, he never actually got his own star. You don't need to be a Michelin star chef to get a job in a Michelin star restaurant (but generally, it can be very difficult otherwise - Stuart is simply that good).
Every year the michelin guide awards or takes away the stars. If after 1 year the restaurant still holds the star, he has the full right to claim it as his.
You’re all wrong. You’re all confused with another chef Stuart White. The chef Stuart White from this episode works at The Courtyard restaurant at the four-star Luxury Ox Pasture Hall where he did receive 2 AA Rosettes. www.yorkshirelife.co.uk/food-drink/food-and-drink-features/stuart-white-head-chef-at-the-courtyard-restaurant-and-apple-tarte-tatin-with-apple-parfait-recipe-1-1646487
Very different from the US version. This one is more calm, narrated (by Ramsay, not some random person hired to narrate), and filled with less dramatic music and shots. The people also seem less obnoxious, but that can't exactly be proven. The original is like a review in a newspaper, the US is like a tabloid magazine cover.
Those Japanese writings on the wall were so random and messed up lol. Some of them weren’t even words! I bet they used google translator or some sort and wrote them on their own.
Ramsay has a very high opinion of the head chef, he must be damned good. What a mix of shit in this episode, very poor standards and lack of experience, but a highly respectable head chef, and also Chef Ramsay picked a woman up and jumped into the English Channel lol.
I think this is has to be the best Kitchen Nightmare I've seen. Love the Geordie-Scottish connection between Gordon & Stuart, shared passion for their craft of cooking
I worked with Jean-Baptiste in a French restaurant in London back in 2002 (before he went to Ramsey). He is a really great guy, very passionate and full of knowledge. Glad we worked very well together :D
The first time for me to see the British version. It looks fresh, educating, intelligent, real, and there's just much more details because of the pacing and genuine approach!
43:40 - Just look at Gordon's smile when he's surprising Stu. He clearly really likes him, great episode! Other lads in the kitchen were legends too bless them
I like to imagine Jean Baptiste walked all the way from London to the Sandgate, in that suit, without rest, and still arrived looking stylish and immaculate.
I love this series for the fact that no one is fawning over Gordon Ramsay. He's just another citizen. Overtly embarrassing constant admiration is an American Hallmark. In American reality shows, it's either humor, drama or constant admiration or combinations of all three. Even though this show is staged, it feels like it could be happening right in front of you.
Gordon has a rare talent. Most people would have responded to the mature French matron trying to steal him back across the ocean with humor, some would have taken her by the hand, a select few would have picked her up. But it takes a special man to fireman carry that woman into the sea. Then slam a 60-70 (who knows she French, she could be 120 or 44) into the sea face first over his rear end.
Que? "I want a hammer Manuel!" A hamster? "No! I hammer! I could try and knock in a nail into the wall with your hamster!" Ah! Ham....A hammock! "Well. Nevermind Manuel! I get the hammer myself!"
Thanks for the upload. Love UK Kitchen Nightmares. Also, Lois and Peter? Definitely run like the Family Guy household. Stuart's shellsuit game is 100% on point.
You can really see how Gordon and Stuart bonded and got along so well. They have a mutual respect for each other and seem like they could be old friends. Love how well The Sandgate responded and succeeded under Ramsey's guidance. Bravo.
Americans gotta have that acting and manufactured plots to feel complete. :) Look how young Jean Christoff is here. Plus he is savage as fuck at belittling the staff lol. :O
I'm American and from what I see that passes for entertain on television is drama, foul language, sex, and more drama. It's ridiculous! They're right, Gordon's American version is screaming, swearing, ego, and drama. I don't watch the American one's, too much arrogance from the owners. But then, my Nana was English, and we've always preferred British programming so I may be biased.
This was such a good episode... I smiled, I laughed, I cried... I’ve never been so emotional during a t.v. show... I genuinely hope this people have been doing well and see success in their future. Good job Gordon!!
I love the UK Version, I mean you can really hear the kitchen action, not just overlayed and multiplicated dramatic drums and trumpets hammering in your ears. Makes it much more enjoyable!
Nah. Just sounds like a toon. :0 Gordon got on really well with him cos Stuart is a good laugh. He's the sort of guy that could go out for a drink with anybody and have a great eventful night.
He's not Scottish xD He's from a place in England called Newcastle, they have quite a unique accent, and people from Newcastle are called 'Geordies'., so in UK we'd call it a geordie accent...Liverpool is scouser, Birmingham is brummy, south Londoner is cockney etc etc
The sophisticated Jean Baptist’s 🤵🏻🕴🏽was having a whole meltdown panic attack with how horrible that place was being ran and the lack of respect, standard etc🤣🤣🤣 Is watch him in his own series💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Real world, real life. So refreshing to watch. I normally am all US everything but the British version takes it. No beeping anything out and the emotions are legit.
Yep, it would have been great if the U.S. version was NOT produced and ran by Fox fake drama company. But Ramsay got a gigantic payday to do the Hell's Kitchen / Kitchen Nightmares U.S. versions. I also prefer the Australian Masterchef version over the Fox fake drama U.S. version. Superior in every way, shape and form.
AlexZander Australian and UK TV is much more low key. I noticed the same when i watched "Wife Swap". There was so much shouting in the US one. I don't believe all Americans prefer the OTT style though.
@laing jay why would someone dox themselves? Any asshole in the comments could/ would start calling the restaurant and harassing the business. Visit and make for a drama filled mess. He could potentially endanger his and the other gentleman's job releasing said information. Use your head mate... No sense in calling him a liar.

So many shows in the US have to be melodramatic for no reason.
Probably my favorite episode i mean poor managing but still everybody is nice and understands what's up.
And that damned chef! He was hilarious. He could take up comedy no bother. He has that natural funny vibe about him. A real likeable guy.
Charger House watch Amy's baking company and then the return to Amy's baking company both are just wonderful
#GobbSmacked
Charger House it’s because they aren’t Americans
Charger House yes. I quite enjoyed "The Granary" episode too.
"Luca, Luca, the glass is fucking dirty!" - I love the ice-cold, factual way that Jean-Baptiste communicates.
"Excuse me waitress, I'm missing my bollocks!"
"Your potatoes are just coming." 😂

@@peregrinex7523Gordon jokingly hints at the lack of testicles to his phallic dish, and the waitresses answer is funny as it is unexpectedly dry.
Priceless episode 😂
I like how Stewart just came out and said his rice was shit. Not like the U.S. where they would say my rice is goid my rice is good.
Tankesley David because he’s a Geordie and we don’t fuck aboot
Blame fox for the direction of the show.

Yeah, Jean-Baptiste is very professional. I worked with him back in 2002
They should've done a spin-off series with that french guy.
londoner71 hey that's pretty cool
He's from Belgium
Fail Squad You're thinking of JP, Jean-Baptiste who is in this episode is French
What a lovely episode. I really feel for Stewart - so humble and straightforward.
Nawww Jean-Baptiste Requien is so young! He’s a baby in this one!
A scary formal baby 😂
a scary formal baby lol
I think he was born wearing a suit and tie
Those two young chefs are bloody good for their age and Stuart is a star.
After going through a bunch of the U.S seasons, this one is dramatically calmer. No drama or drum beats. No one screaming (so far into the episode). It's amazing...XD
yes.
Tyra Wadman no family drama!!!
Some of the ones I have seen on this channel have family drama, but it's NORMAL family drama... not the Bullshit they show on reality TV in America.
It’s unreal isn’t it. They need to bring this back to this level. Think he had a connection with the Chef on this one too. There was respect there.

So Stuart is working in another restaurant and has gotten his first Mitchelin star
That's fucking brilliant
He deserves it.

Excuse me waitress, I'm missing my bollocks...
That is gold right there.
caphalor08 made me laugh out loud!
That and "Can you fuck off and do some work?"
Just give em all a tickle
31:27 - "anything happening downstairs?" LMAO - I love Gordon's audacity and playfulness.

Bonnie rose I am from pennsylvania I agree with you. the UK episodes are so much better
Ramsay has a very high opinion of the head chef, he must be damned good. What a mix of shit in this episode, very poor standards and lack of experience, but a highly respectable head chef, and also Chef Ramsay picked a woman up and jumped into the English Channel lol.
LordDonutz cos he’s a Geordie pet, we practically industrialised the the whole world!
I think this is has to be the best Kitchen Nightmare I've seen. Love the Geordie-Scottish connection between Gordon & Stuart, shared passion for their craft of cooking
Jean Baptiste walked straight from France to the UK muttering on the actions of every person on the way that bothered him.
Where are the transformer noices and the explosions? Oh... UK version.
Badjoke Maker you forgot the bleeping of the swearing
Gordon captures a woman and drags her into the sea. Best episode
The UK version is SO much better than the US version. I know this gets said a lot, but it's still true.
Ummm who is Jean-Baptiste I love him... When he cusses Luca for the dirty glasses 😂 his meltdown at 25:09 is killing me lol
the meltdown took me out because he was thinking about how unsophisticated it all was lol
Not to reply to a super old comment but for anyone out of the loop, you may know Jean-Baptiste as the main waiter in most of Hell's Kitchen seasons
HAHA, that beginning with the guy from the reception laughing on the phone and making Ramsay wait was hilarious.
Jean Baptiste! He appears yet again!
I worked with Jean-Baptiste in a French restaurant in London back in 2002 (before he went to Ramsey). He is a really great guy, very passionate and full of knowledge. Glad we worked very well together :D
In a way, this episode is basically the prototype of Hotel Hell. All that was missing was him looking into the hotel part of the business.
The first time for me to see the British version. It looks fresh, educating, intelligent, real, and there's just much more details because of the pacing and genuine approach!
the thing with the managers wasa like a comedy sketch
43:40 - Just look at Gordon's smile when he's surprising Stu. He clearly really likes him, great episode!
Other lads in the kitchen were legends too bless them
Jean-Baptiste one of the best parts of this episode.
I like to imagine Jean Baptiste walked all the way from London to the Sandgate, in that suit, without rest, and still arrived looking stylish and immaculate.
I worked with Jean-Baptiste back in 2002.He was always... perfect! :)
How many times have you spammed this post?
He shouldn’t swear. Doesn’t suit him.
oooopf the "can I have more stones" guy
I would go home and cry into my pillow for 100 years
Stuart is such a lovely man. Accent so disarming too. Glad he's doing well, he deserves it!
I love this series for the fact that no one is fawning over Gordon Ramsay. He's just another citizen. Overtly embarrassing constant admiration is an American Hallmark. In American reality shows, it's either humor, drama or constant admiration or combinations of all three. Even though this show is staged, it feels like it could be happening right in front of you.
poor french bloke, gordon nearly pulls his arm off lol
Sku47 hahah yes.
He "trumped" him.
So this might be an unintended pilot for Hotel Hell?
4:29 can you fuck off and do some work? hahaa dying here
I already knew this was going to be a good episode when I heard “24 miles from France but a million from being a good restaurant”
Thank god for Gordon, he knows what the fuck he is talking about. 👍
I loved the improving of the Anglo-French relationships was by throwing the French Mayor into the English Channel. 41:30
That woman loved it! What a minx she was!
I loved the Fawlty tower theme that ran freely through this episode. BASIL!!
Manuel!!
Yank: what??
Que?
"I want a hammer Manuel!"
A hamster?
"No! I hammer! I could try and knock in a nail into the wall with your hamster!"
Ah! Ham....A hammock!

Bram25 'a ham...a ham sandwich?'
'BASIL?!'
'Sybil?!'

Bravo.
Much better than the Yankee version of Kitchen Nightmares.
Luke Hinkle fuck off yaaa
Americans gotta have that acting and manufactured plots to feel complete. :)
Look how young Jean Christoff is here. Plus he is savage as fuck at belittling the staff lol. :O
SO.... Much better. It feel like the show really wants to help the people, instead of making them look like self harming cartoon villains.
Stop grouping all Americans like this.
Gordon eating the oysters with the group of ladies "Anything happening downstairs.......the tummy" lol What a pissa ! :' D
He Does know how to charm the arl ones like
This was such a good episode... I smiled, I laughed, I cried... I’ve never been so emotional during a t.v. show... I genuinely hope this people have been doing well and see success in their future.
Good job Gordon!!
Love when Gordon does these "first ever" challenges or competions that you never see again! He does it on almost all of his shows. Funny!
I love the UK Version, I mean you can really hear the kitchen action, not just overlayed and multiplicated dramatic drums and trumpets hammering in your ears. Makes it much more enjoyable!
American here can't understand a single word Stuart/Stewart says but I love it!
Does he sound scottish?
Nah. Just sounds like a toon. :0
Gordon got on really well with him cos Stuart is a good laugh. He's the sort of guy that could go out for a drink with anybody and have a great eventful night.
the fact i cant understand him makes it better. Did he say fish or did he say he was horny? the world will never know.
Clorox Bleach+ I'm sorry to hear that :P
Gordon running into the water with the French woman over his shoulder had me in stitches! Amazing c:
I was thinking...there's no way he's gonna go in with her she's got all her decent clothes on and he literally went in head first. Fantastic lmao

I reckon he judged that just right, she was full of mischief and will no doubt dine out on that story for a long time to come.
The sophisticated Jean Baptist’s 🤵🏻🕴🏽was having a whole meltdown panic attack with how horrible that place was being ran and the lack of respect, standard etc🤣🤣🤣 Is watch him in his own series💯💯🔥🔥🔥
What a great episode. I loved the back and forth between the two Chefs. Happy to see them rocking in the kitchen.
its not often Gordon takes to someone right off the bat, but yeh, i couldnt help liking that chef too. Good on them all
I like this episode.
It starts off with the Fawlty Towers theme and ends with Jean Baptiste showing up.
Wish every episode was like this one. A restaurant that listens and Gordon actually coming off as a human being.
Metal is Life every episode of kn, if the kitchen is clean, this is how he reacts. But if horrid, watch out
"You don't have to say fucking. It's a Chef's thing" - Best line ever.
Real world, real life. So refreshing to watch. I normally am all US everything but the British version takes it. No beeping anything out and the emotions are legit.
Wish they'd show these in the states. Much nicer. No one here likes all the overdone trash lol, just no other options
These are way older than the US episodes. These came out when I was in high school for cripes sake
The over the top narrator makes the US version much more corny too.
unfortunately a lot of people do like it
That Frenchmans' accent sounded like sweet music to my ears
"You don't have to say "fucking", it's a chef's thing"
So thaaaat's why...
İ love the UK versions as they just seem so much more down to earth. The American shows are just that, a show with tears and ridiculous high drama.
I currently work with Stewart. Great guy :)
james penrose all Geordie 🙂

For real😱
It must be a privilege / a
Pleasure to work with such an experienced chef. And after interfacing with Chef Ramsay, not a bad experience at all.
@laing jay why would someone dox themselves? Any asshole in the comments could/ would start calling the restaurant and harassing the business. Visit and make for a drama filled mess. He could potentially endanger his and the other gentleman's job releasing said information. Use your head mate... No sense in calling him a liar.
