I took a haitus from videos for a bit to focus on my health and life obligations following the rough year that was 2020 and trying to adjust to life during a pandemic without any sort of musical outlet. I can't say it was easy, but improving my health and overall life situation through surgery and good medications definitely gave me more energy and positive outlook. Now that me and most of my friends are vaccinated we're back down in the basement studio writing music and making videos again!
Slipknot is a spooky word for a lot of drummers, myself included. Joey Jordison is obviously one of the most revered drummers in metal and emulating his style is no easy feat. I can't say I'm much of a metal drummer myself, but growing up listening to Slipknot and idolizing Joey helped the whole process of learning the hits and dynamics. I feel like I did an okay job, albiet not perfect it's definitely one of my favorite covers I've ever done on the channel.
I'm definitely much happier and confident behind the kit now than I was before. Dedicating time and passion to a hobby like drumming or music in general is great for your mental and physical health. I can't really say what I'd be doing if I wasn't playing drums, but it would definitely involve music in some capacity. I really appreciate you guys sticking around and watching my passion project videos and I hope you'll enjoy this one too.
