RIP Paul Gray.

Paul Dedrick Gray. Not Derrick
Rest in peace Paul grey the world will never forget get you
Rip the Rev
May he rest in peace.
Mick is easily the most intimidating guy in the band but he's the one who stayed away from drugs and women and played videogames instead.
He's my favorite member of Slipknot
The part where the guy reads his words “what else do you need?” made me laugh
The only thing they fear... is you

I think alot of people missed the first part of this video...they literally spent 40 grand of their own money to make a CD..that's dedication
Axl Despaw legit.. plus correlated relegate product | with all the pieces + members -n doubled up aspects
Axl Despaw I saw that as soon as I read it lmao
Actually they used other peoples money, it was a fundraiser.
@@kingkevboi67 not all of the 40k came from fundraising and you missed the point..some of them had part time jobs as well as raising money from fundraisers..and technically the money was still "theirs" regardless of fundraising...its still work and when you work and receive money it's considered "yours"..lol smh
i cant believe they would drop 40k on something that sounded that awful production wise.
”The band eventually landed a 500k, 7 album deal”
Wow that is a crap deal.
Ya like rappers know make shitty songs and get million
Fernando Santana Ugh Fr just hearing that pisses me off😤
Yes it is. I thought the same thing. That was a very small amount of money for 9 guys and 7 albums is a hell of allot for that paltry sum.
That's up front money. They big bucks come from album, merch and ticket sales.
Hey, I'd take that deal to live my dream too.
But like it was already said, that's up front money.
I’m so happy that Slipknot was created by these guys.
Changed a lot of peoples lives through their music.

@geta bagboy damn, didn't realize that. I just did a tribute art to Joey as well, rang all their eras. Life's good man, let's live for them. 👊🏻
One of the most innocent I will agree with along with Sid most of the time. Craig can be very fuckoff intimidating even without his mask. I grew up in Des Moines and saw slipknot from the self titled days at tiny clubs and it’s in the eyes

*$500,000 for 7 albums....?*
Roadrunner Records is pathetic.
Jewrunner records?
bands usually make their money off of performance......
Touring, merch, and royalties from album sales is where bands make their money, and believe me...they made A LOT of money. So does the record label, but the record label is also taking a gamble with their money. There are a lot of bands that just go nowhere for any number of reasons. It's for this reason that so much trash music sounds exactly the same. Because record labels don't want to gamble, they just sell people the same shit they've been eating for years and they love it. They even try to get bands to try to gravitate towards the sounds that produce money. Which is why you see so many bands start out sounding fuckin awesome, then eventually sound like absolute overproduced radio rock trash.
Stars are no longer discovered, they're crafted. And they all play in the tune of $100 bills.

Mick has always been my favorite.
Considering he has the personality of “I’m going to beat you to death, but look like a badass while doing it,” I have to love him.
This band saved me. I was in a bad state of mind when I was 13. Friend of mine lent me his Subliminal Verse Vol. 3 and ended up buying my own.
They taught me its okay to not feel okay, theres always reasons for these feelings we have and if you run and hide it never goes away
As a fan I’m very appreciative of the fact that they are still around. It’s incredible to think of all the things they overcame. Also when you see them live now, my favorite part is when the show is over and Corey will hug Sid or Jim gives a handshake to clown. They seem to really appreciate where they are.
I thought Mick Thompson was cool, but after this I respect that guy alot. Metal \m/

Sexual abuse happens way more often than is recognized. The effects it has on the victim's life are really sad. These record companies do really screw bands over. You never know what you are signing.
sexual abuse happens to many people most often people closest to us
1 in 6 men, though those numbers are likely under reported
I have so many friends who have been sexually abused. Almost like 50% of my friends. I have some trauma too so with people like that you just automatically click. You have an innate understanding of each other’s pain that’s hard to find with “normal” people. I’ve seen that sort of abuse absolutely destroy people. One of my friends that dealt with it died by suicide. Another hit rock bottom with drug use. It’s dark and has such a lasting effect. Trauma hits you so deep especially when it starts when you’re so young. I can’t blame my friends or anyone else for how they choose to deal with the pain they’re drowning in. Much love to anyone that reads this and is in a similar place. You’re not alone ❤

Tbh I've always found Corey a very likeable character. When I was in early Slipknot's ''target audience'' (age-wise) I didn't like them at all and I was into both much lighter and much heavier music. But years later I got back to it and I noticed that besides the sometimes experimental instrumentals, Corey's vocals where one of the only extreme vocals that *actually* sound aggressive and emotional (without going the emo-route for emotional or full on death metal; which sounds more monstrous, but usually has less character). Then I got into their music more and also followed Stone Sour. It's been a pretty damn interesting journey for Corey and his band mates and you can actually hear it in their albums.
