Pete was arguably the most skilled player of all time. I know people may mention names like Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, or even Kyrie Irving but Pete was doing things in the NBA that only the Globetrotters would even think of but he was doing it at an all-NBA level. In terms of scoring what he was to the '70s as a guard was what Kobe was to the 2000s and he was the chief wizard of the NBA after Cousy and before Magic. If you add in his ball-handling ability and ability to finish with both hands at the rim, he was just the perfect offensive weapon. In today's game I'd say Lamelo Ball reminds me of Pete the most but we don't know if he's going to be a 24ppg level scorer. Pete nonetheless besides Jordan is the first player I'd buy tickets to watch! LOL

The thing I value the most about Pete is his pure creativity and originality. I mean it's one thing to be amazingly good at something that was already invented and established, and it's certainly important to measure how good you are at that specific thing when determining impact (that's how we establish and debate how good a basketball player is); but it's a whole different thing to create completely new stuff out of thin air. Things that were not seen or even imagined before. That's admirable from a strictly artistic point of view. I'm not talking about impact on a 5x5 professional basketball game because that's a different story. I'm just talking about appreciating the pure creative power of certain human beings. Maravich was certainly one of those rare and gifted beings in the realm of sports.

Nah Kobe had better defense and better dunks and jumps. But in passing and playmaking, I like more Pete

That pass at 14:08 is the most underrated highlight reel pass ever!

It's amazing. It's the same one Pete explains how to execute in those tutorial series with Red Auerbach.

I've still never seen anyone pull off the pass he makes at 14:09. Arms go left, ball goes right.

Uno de ellos, sin duda. Diría que prácticamente todas las leyendas que brillaron en los setenta han sufrido similar destino.

Better than I thought, but not so fast my friends. I'll still give a very slight nod to Larry Bird.
