Hey Les, great collection!.Humidity is key element for good growth if it's dropping the baby leaves it usually due to lack of humidity (for the specific hoya) or major change in temp. Don't be afraid to water them. if the substrate is airy enough, a minute before it's dry you should water specially with the coco chips -based substrate, It needs to be watered more frequently. Most Hoya should grow fairly quickly in contrast of what people think
Thank you!!! The humidity is definitely a struggle with the heat being on, I’ve got a couple of humidifiers running but I may need another 💀 Thank you for the tips! 🤗
I totally get what you mean about the small leaves being kinda whatever, like, I like the plants, but I feel like it needs to grow so big and full before I actually care and it can bring some joy 😅
Great video! I also don't like small leaves (some exceptions) so it was nice to watch a video without lacunosas 😂 I agree that the bella has potential; their flowers are adorable. I get how you end up buying different ones that look similar. The AH-041 is now on my wish list as well as others you shared. I think you're right about the ghost and nova ghost, and the freckles. My polyneuras and villosa (globulosa?) have done better in lower light. Thank you for sharing. 🖤
I do really like some lacunosas but they just don’t excite me the way big funky leaves do 😆 I’m happy I was able to help you add some to your wish list lol!! 😊🫶🏻
first of all, I absolutely love your T-shirt your Hoya collection is absolutely awesome. Thanks for the long update. I stayed for every second of it, even though I had to have a break my little dog wanted me to play with her lol I now have about 25 Hoya’s added to my wishlist
From little time I had the Undulata, I could tell you the it likes it warm very warm and humid (80%) and a lot of air in the roots. You are right it doesn’t like too much light either
Thank you so much for leaving this info!! It’s been giving me so much grief I just don’t think it likes it in my house. I pulled it out and the stem was half rotten so I stuck it in some fluval stratum to see what happens but I’m not very hopeful 😅
I've noticed that the macrophylla grows in starts and stops. I've had mine for like 2 years and that's been the pattern for that whole time. I've got mine in bright but not intense light, let mine dry out a bit more than my crassiopetiolata and just kinda leave it to do its thing
Well that definitely makes sense because it was growing so well for like a month then it was like -wow I’m tired that really took it out of me- and now it’s been out of commission for a couple of months 😆 Hopefully we’ll be in a growth phase before too long!
@@leaveswithles also - hoya mitrata is one of the 4 myrmecophytic hoya (meaning it grows mutualistically with ants; like h. imbricata, and lots of dischidia), so those two different sized leaves are normal! Basie Plants has a great video on the ant hoyas

I really enjoyed this video. The entire thing! REALLY awesome and I have subscribed too! Thank you!!
A self watering pot review would be awesome for HOYA.

@ oh it sure does!! You’ve been working hard, enjoy your Christmas!! 💚🌱
You too!!! ☺️🎄
that hoya carnosa splash that you cant find an id on, could be motoskei, which is closely related to carnosa, so who knows lol
Thank you for this! I’m going to look it up and do some inspecting and see if that’s what it is 😆🔎

actually 5 now - mitrata, imbricata, undulata, darwinii, and now the recently described buntokensis (and these are just the named ones)
That’s so interesting!!! I love him I’ll have to go watch that one!
Hello from PR! I have my H. Macrophylla getting bright indirect light and only NE morning sun. Its stressed and bloomed.
I might need to stick mine in a window 😅 I would love to see it bloom!!
