(11/22/24)
Hey guys! Just posting an update about our questionable Anthurium Wendlingeri x ! Unfortunately, we did have root rot and a very sad small root system as well as rot that was spreading through the cataphyll. I messaged the seller who was happy to approve a case for refund through Etsy, so I will update once again once that gets processed!

After thinking about the whole thing, I would still say that I am satisfied with this order because of the price point. The plant is very large and was shipped quickly and with minimal damage, which is surprising due to the size and maturity. Because there were still lots of healthy roots and the plant is very resilient, I believe she will be ok and will be much happier with her new setup! Will...

If you want a philodendron that will size up huge without a moss pole, try the melinonii. I have this plant and the black cardinal. They are upright philodendrons and the melinonii is huge now and the black cardinal is working on it. 😊
Oh my gosh the melinonii is absolutely beautiful!! Off to Etsy 🏃🏼♀️➡️😆
congratulations to you both. your new hoya are beautiful all of the Hoya you showed are on my wish list I hope the other plants you got are ok it’s so disheartening when you get plants in the mail and they’re not good.
Thank you so much!! I got them from TQHoyas on Etsy- I’ve had a great experience every time I’ve ordered and I feel like they’re very reasonably priced! I did what I could to fix up the other ones so hopefully they’ll perk up in a bit 😌
Congratulations on getting married 👏🏽 You can snap a pic of the little plant you got and run it through Google image search and it will tell you what your plant is.. that's how I figure out some of the cacti plants that look the same, 😂 It can be very confusing. I'm sorry you got some damaged plants, hopefully with a little TLC they'll recover nicely .. 🙂
Thank you so much! Googles just as confused as I am 😆 Seems like there’s a lot going on genetically with phalaenopsis orchids so we may never know 🤔
Congrats Les!
Thank you so much!!
Congratulations on getting married!! 💍❤ Hope the two of you have a beautiful life together!
Thank youuuuuu!! 🫶🏻
They are complex hybrid phalaenopsis. There are so many hybrids it will be hard to name them. Species phalaenopsis you mostly can only buy from orchid nurseries. The hybrids are easier to care for.
Thank you so much for this info!! So interesting, I see much time spend in the depths of orchid lore sometime soon 😆
@ there are many species of Phals most of the true species are fragrant and many have modeled leaves with cool patterns. There is another section of Phals the summer blooming type they have different shaped flowers on short spikes that are fragrant more vivid colors.
Oh my gosh I’m getting sucked in 😵💫
Looks great but the elephantotis’s shield frond is supposed to be pointing upward (it’s designed to catch debris in the wild to create growing medium) the platycerium should be able to adjust but it will prevent it from sizing up for a long time!
Thank you!! I actually already flipped it around because it just felt weird 😆😆
Congratulations!
Thank you!!!!
Happy Friday. Congratulations to you, your husband, and both families🥂🎊🎂.
Thank you!!!
I’ve got 4 big jungle cactus, just picked up a Beavertail I’ve never seen before, a few more smaller ones, toats obsessed, I want a curly sue so bad!! Edible fruit! This was a VERY chatty vid! lol I’m here for the plants lady! lol Any scindapsus I get has nice beautiful leaves at first, then gives me sparse small leaves on long vines, she gets lotsa light so I dunno why! I’m not buying them anymore
I love jungle cactus so much now! Their growth pattern is just so different and absolutely gorgeous!! I had that same problem with my Scindapsus argyraeus which is why it took me so long to get into them after getting rid of that one. I’ve been putting them all on poles which they love and they haven’t really been doing that weird runner thing but this exotica is the first one I’m growing without a pole so we’ll see 🤔
My Scindapsus Exotica was my favorite plant for a long time and it is still high on my list! It is getting very long, so I need to cut it back because I don’t know where to put it where it can extend fully. I got a couple of half price plants in the pretty pots on clearance at Lowe’s a month ago, a Scindapsus Argyraeus and a lemon lime Maranta, both still in great shape! Your begonia is very exotic looking! I have a spotted angel wing begonia that is almost effortless and a begonia amphioxus that is always at the brink of death! 😂
Lowe’s has really been doing their thing with the living trends pots etc. they have been so cute lately!! I can definitely see why the exotica has been your fave- I have developed such a deep love for Scindapsus 😍☺️
hi there less!! i think the lighting looks good, it could be a little bit brighter but thats just personal preference (: it‘s so fun to see people getting into (jungle) cacti because they’re just so fun and it‘s so special coming into a house where there‘s cacti trailing down!! i also bought the epiphyllium guatamalensis for 23€ this summer from a big gartencenter and it even gave me a tiny little fruit, i think you could also eat that!! 🌟😗 have a great weekend 🙂↕️
I totally agree on the brightness!! We’re gonna have to up it a little on the next one 😅 Geez I am literally star struck when I see a beautiful trailing jungle cactus! I hope mine gives me a little fruit one day that’s so exciting 🤩 Hope you have a good weekend too!!
How do we get a corm off your black velvet? 😂
I should do a giveaway 🤣
I'm with you on smart plugs. It's madness that people wander around their homes twice a day turning all their grow lights on and off ... every single day 🤣🤣🤣
Omg I know that was me!! I had to make my rounds every morning and evening 😆😆 It is SO nice for them to do their thing on their own!!
Soon as you started talking, I was like yep this is a Georgia gal if I ever heard one...sounds like home! And add in plants and dogs ? Is grits groceries? Haha!
Yes ma’am!!! I can tear up some grits 😆
oh my gosh the bonsai wire for trellis is a brilliant idea 😁
Thank you!! I was like I can’t be buying a hundred trellises 😆
Just a heads up on the halo light! I have them and while they work they are great! But many eventually go out after about 2 years. Some sooner. It's a bummer.
Oh no!! That really is a bummer but I guess at least they weren’t too expensive 😅 I’ll try to baby them 😆
Good morning 🌞 I love the sansi puck lights that have a timer on them. Love your trellis hack also! Your plants are beautiful!
Thank you!! 💚🌱
Omg!!!! I literally came to see this after your October favorites video and I was driving and hear my name lol. Thank you so much for the shout out girl. I can’t wait to see this. Let’s goooo!
I stopped the favs when you got to the water dragon because I was like wow where did she get that gorgeous plant?! And here we are!! ❤❤❤❤
You’re welcome!! You influenced me to get it and now it’s one of my favorite plants so thank YOU! 😆
Dang girl what a massive plant!!! Wowza! What a score!! She is gorgeous!! Sorry about the rot. However you already know by now that they are hardy and she will be perfect!! The variegation is STUNNING and totally worth the rehab. I do find that mine gets edema soooooooo easy and I had to back off on the water.
They’re so resilient it’s crazy! Her new little roots are already shooting out from everywhere 😆 Thank you for the tip!!! 💚🌱
You make me want to try the Dark Lord again. Can't say the first two times went exactly well 😆 Good luck with the new job!
Thank you so much!! The dark lord has been so set on rotting I’m not totally confident it will survive but this has been the best it’s done so far so let’s hope 😅😅

Hi! Glad you posted your October fav’s!!! Love you plants but I gotta tell you- it’s hard not to focus on the monstera behind you!!! I don’t envy you when you have to water or repot! Your home has awesome light! You have such a large collection it must get overwhelming. Definitely don’t be hard on yourself. Keep updating us on that enormous gorgeous anthurium. You saved it!
Thank you so much!! I’ll tell you- when I repot the monstera last time many leaves were lost and I barely made it myself! 😆
ur pup with his tongue out! i like your sitting room, cozy
Thank you!!
your brave and full of energy i take it to have so many
your lucky you can do systemics
oh man i hate when ppl refer to plants as she
Why do you pull up elephant ears and calla lilies? I am in North Alabama and leave mine in the whole year round. They always come back year after year.
My soil is not very well draining and they rot if I leave them in the ground! Sometimes I’ll dig them up and sometimes I’ll replace them the next year but I try to dig them up so I don’t have to buy more 😅
where u get your triellis
I use bonsai wire! I talk about it in my Hoya updates & setup video: ua-cam.com/video/0uALnbrVPd4/v-deo.htmlsi=Ya9S0RqW9XpnIfpr
@@leaveswithles Do you have a video on how to make cute little trellises

Hosier is Irish...he is from the next town over from me. We are VERY proud of him, as in the entire country of Ireland is proud of him. hahahhah
He is absolutely worth being proud of! Such an incredibly soulful talented human being! Thank you for blessing us with him 😆🫶🏻
@@leaveswithles You're welcome - on behalf of all of the Irish People 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Lots of love Les, great video as per usual! I just love your content!!Keep bringing this stuff!! 🥰😘
Thank you so much!! Glad to have you here!! 😊💚🌱
For a moment, I thought you were going to say you physically built your house yourself and my jaw was about to drop! 😂 I’ve done a lot of my own home repairs and it is tough! I know just hiring contractors to build a house is also difficult. There are a lot of scammy builders out there!
Heck no I barely survived with a builder!! 😆 I was SO fortunate to have a really great one I don’t think I would have made it without him 😅😅
OMG. TH3 FROG, THAT IS WHAT RUINED ME TOO! no one has ever seen that to know what I'm talking about. It's the worst memory of my life!
Why did they do that to us?!?!??? 🫣
@leaveswithles so disgusting. Literally what nightmares are made of
Let me see if I understand this: there are times that you *leave* chaos mode? Please explain 🤣 Perhaps someday I'll be able say the same 🤭 Also, what brand is that great perlite?
It happens occasionally and I have to seize the opportunity when it arises! 😆 The perlite is from Amazon!! amzn.to/3Z3NdSz Hopefully that link works LOL
OMG the show was The Most Extreme and i HATED that episode!! I used to love animal planet and that show would do the 'human' version of the animal's traits or tricks or whatever and it was creepy lol. Very much enjoyed finding your channel recently and checking out your plants! :D
Omg yes!! I wonder if they know how many people they’ve traumatized 😆 So glad to have you here!! 🤗
hi les!! i absolutely adore your plant collection and also your decorating style with all those fancy picture frames!! watching this right before going to bed because your videos are so relaxing and calming to watch since i‘m having trouble falling/staying asleep. 🥲 sending lots of planty energy from germany 🌞
Thank you so much! Hope they help- my boyfriend has insomnia sometimes and I know it’s really difficult. I appreciate you noticing my fancy gold frames 😉 I am absolutely OBSESSED with them- when I go to an art museum I’m 50% looking at the art and 50% looking at the magnificent frames 😆 Hope your difficulty sleeping passes soon!
This Q&A was fun. That ice cream truck story made me laugh so hard 😹 glad you were ok but that was a classic story haha
I’m laughing too it’s ok 😂😂
Great video really enjoyed getting to know you abit more❤
Thank you!! 😊
Hey Les! Great way to start my Saturday! Hope you and the plants are in good shape! Love Q&A’s! 💚💚🥴
We are fortunately doing well! Glad you enjoyed and hope you’re doing well also! 😊
Nice Hoyas 🤩 If the leaf shape of your Hoya Carnosa Nova Ghost is “messed up” it could be a different variety. The Nova Ghost is supposed to be the one with normal shaped leaves 😅. I’d recommend Hoya Silver Dollar and maybe “one or 2” the silver Lacunosas, no need to get them all (I have a Louisas silver which grows very evenly and has slight raised venation, white pearl which in the right light has a nice shine and Krohniana silver cause its heart shaped) But everything comes in silver these days or so it seems 😅
Someone mentioned the texture is different too in another video! It’s very possible I got the nova ghost and grey ghosts labels switched LOL!
@@leaveswithles that could definitely be a possibillity, the grey ghost is one that is supposed to look “messed up” 😉
I love watching your videos! ❤
Thank you so much!!! 💚🌱
Very nice video. You're so right @11:39 regarding the Philodendron Summer Glory taking up a lot of space. By the way, Do you sell plants?
Thank you! Yes, she is beautiful but needs a whole room to herself! I do not sell currently but very likely in the future!! 😊
@leaveswithles Yes, I brought 2 Summer Glory from Lowe's Clearance rack. Got them home and scratched my head ( what was I thinking🤔. Thanks for tackling this video because it's helpful because I live in an apartment where I've had to become creative as well as mindful of the reality of the living space that I have my in.
@@simplydee4522Same, except I only got one! It was pretty beat up, so I think it will be a while before it gets big. I was in a mood to buy a plant, it was cheap, and in a cool Urban Jungle pot, so I didn’t give much thought to how big it would get.
I love your hair down like that, with the flannel, looks nice! Great video idea! How’s the hurricane damage around you?
Thank you so much, that’s so sweet of you to say! We are very fortunate that we were not impacted at all, hope you & everyone else out there are doing well if you’re in an area that has been!! 💚
Heeeeeeey! It looks like you have a very nice Grey Ghost, not a Nova Ghost. The super shiny top leaf and slightly fuzzy bottom, whereas the Nova Ghost is fuzzy and mottled on the top and smoother on the bottom. I loooooooove Grey Ghost 👻
I have both and it is very possible I have mixed them up LOL. Love her whatever her name is 😆
I have a Scindapsus 'Platinum' are she is gorgeous.
Yes she is!!
Thank you for putting out the extraordinary effort to talk about each of your plants and letting us look at them!! I have a similar eclectic large collection. I have several more maranta. I love them. Fewer alocasia. I love them and they mostly don't thrive for me. You might be the only person who loves pellonia like I do. Same with syngonium llano carti road. I love that plant. I too have many Hoya. Many philodendron and peperomia. I have a gorgeous yellow philodendron Warzewskii.(Sp). I do agree with your outro. Literally noone takes an interest in my individual plants. Visitors just say, "WOW. A lot of plants. " So nice to meet each one of your plants. Not to mention the stunning Vash. Your dachshund mix did not show up in this video. I have 3 tiny puppy mill rescues. Anyway!! Thank you. I saw this in three sittings and greatly appreciated your gorgeous collection.
Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed it! It sounds like you have a beautiful collection- I love the warscewiczii esp the neon color. The mature leaves are extraordinary, similar to the radiatum which I can’t wait to see mature! Also, Stark (the dachshund mix) makes a guest appearance in my recent collection updates/walkthrough video 😉 At least us plant people appreciate each others collection!! 😄
I love Staghorn ferns but have always been a bit intimidated by them. This video helps so much! I will be buying a fern & mounting it soon. Thank you!! Yours look great btw!
Thank you! So glad it helped- you can totally do it! They’re so lovely and interesting to watch grow 😊
Great video, thanks! I would also recommend a spider plant. They add some “fluffy bulk” and they are very easy to care for, not demanding at all.
Yes! And so easy to propagate if you have other places to fill!
I mounted my very first Staghorn earlier this year after watching a few YT videos. Your video is great! Now I want more. Your collection is adorable. Maybe sometime show how you water yours. I dunk mine and wait for the bubbles to stop, LOL.
Thank you! I can definitely show that, I normally just prop them up in the sink and spray them down but your way seems more threatening 😆
@@leaveswithles ha! I saw it in a video of a guy has dozens of staghorns and that's how he does it. It's not rough at all, like a gentle lowering and submerging.
this just made me so much more confident in mounting 😅 i was so nervous to do it but you made it so clear and simple. will definitely try on mine soon
You can do it!! 👏🏻
That elephantotis grows really fast watch out got one 3 months ago was about the same size as soon as I mounted it it absolutely took off and is now taking up a good bit of the corner it's in it's beautiful but demands to be a center piece whether you want it to or not
Omg that’s so exciting!! I have some room where I can move him over need be but I sure hope I’m having that problem soon! 😆
Ive been wanting a staghorn......putting a order in now
Yay! They’re so rewarding and fun to watch grow 🤗
That little baby is adorable -- it'll be fun to see that one grow. Your grouped collection looks fantastic! I just have one, but boy has he gotten large and in charge 🤣 Great video!
Thank you! It’ll be fun to look back and see how much it’s grown (hopefully) in the future! Can’t wait for them to get big 🤗
Where did you get your anthurium liberty????❤❤❤
I got it off Etsy but sadly can’t recommend the seller because I had a really bad experience 🫣 You can find a lot of beautiful anthurium on there though!
