Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.
Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy, in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable.
Smaller farming fields may help you yield more. When the Ox ploughs a field it kicks off all the farmers off that field and farmers cannot get back on the field to plant seeds until the Ox has finished ploughing the entire field. If the Ox doesn't finish ploughing, it doesn't get planted.
Don't think you established the trade routes for flax/wool/bread
It will be cool if you recreate historical medieval villages using old maps like how you use google maps with Thessia or Ilos 😊
Definitely something I'm interested in!
Can you rename provinces? if so Eichenhau ought to be Eggenhau!
Superb stuff Egg. The farms look just so nice! Can't wait to see how it plays in person. The Benny Hill stuff with the ox nicking the planks was priceless, it really was.
Couldn't write it could you! Cheers bro
Pronunciation police here! Great job on the Eichenhau pronunciation. In German, Immenreuth (which is actually a real place in Germany) is pronounced with a soft I (more ‘ih’ and less ‘eye’) and the back half of the word is pronounced like ‘royt’.
Loving the manor lords content (:
I really hope you continue with this game on your channel. You and CPP have great series on this
Thanks Lauren 😌 glad you're enjoying it ❤️
FYI 📖 : Bing AI says: One morgen is equivalent to 0.61776 acres. This conversion applies to the morgen as used in Germany. However, it’s worth noting that the morgen can vary by region; for example, in South Africa, one morgen is equal to 2.11695 acres
Morgen is a german measure:
"A Morgen (Mg), regionally also called Acker, is a historical but still occasionally used[1] German unit of area. While today it is equated with 25 ares or 2,500 square meters, in approximate agreement with the Prussian Morgen, its area once ranged from 1,906 to 11,780 square meters.
The area was determined by the area that could be ploughed in one morning with a single-furrow horse or ox plough. The acre was usually defined as a rectangle with sides of an even number of local rods, since turning was avoided as much as possible when ploughing." (Wikipedia)
I am absolutely loving that house with huge backyard in Zweiau. Build more houses like that!!!
Coming up!
The first thing they need to add to the game is the "plank police department" 🤣That was hilarious!
Hi Egg! I think the hunting limit is set as when the families stop hunting, so if you set it as 3 they will keep hunting until the animal population reaches 3. I might be wrong since I have not played the game 😅
Correct although I have seen them hunt below the set limit, perhaps a bug!

Finally able to play myself, your videos did not promise too much - loving the game 😍. The first 3 hours went by like nothing.
Yay Enjoy!
You need to setup a croprotaions on your fields, for example wheat-flax-fallow, so the fertility doesn,t go down that much and you should ploughing in the spring, so your grain grows in the sumer and your people starts harvesting in fall
In Europe, wheat is mostly planted in the fall.
What I did with the Clay Furnace was turn it into a trade resource supplier. It's a trick I learned playing Banished back in the day. Basically importing cheap raw resources and then crafting them into expensive trade goods for export and just keeping the net profit. Clay only costs 1 gold per unit and Roofing Tiles sell for 4 (I think). I'm doing a similar thing with Hides and Shoes to keep my cobbler busy and you could probably do it with a lot of other commodities like Barley and Ale,
Egg! I don't know of any historical documentry, but maybe try One Proud Bavarians Manor Lords series for more historical context
Hi egg, great video as always mate.. LOVING the manor lords series! Just so you know you keep forgetting to purchase the trade routes 😅
I wonder, are vegetable plots also influenced by fertility scores somehow? And will your game see major changes when the EA release hits?
these are fun builds
Thank you for the VOD. 🥃🥃
remember to actually establish the trade routes! I think you've told them to export some things that don't have open routes
You probably already know but I haven't seen you really don it is you can draw roads over roads. You can make roads wider, as wide as you want. This can help blend in the roads that the Burgage Plots, Markets etc automatically make wider. Roads along desire lines/paths also helps logistics.
Great episode. When starting a new town, does the settlement camp take away pop from the originating province, or is there some free pop included in the purchase of the camp?
Pop is independent in each region, you start in the new town with negative pop and you build from there
Hi Egg, you mentioned that you are interested in historical town layouts, and there is an interesting scholarly link with the Institute of Historical Research , Chipping Norton, with a map showing "Chipping Norton’s medieval market place and burgage plots" ! ...and some great info on the medieval wool industry there. In the map its interesting a couple of large rectagular open areas where the market is, surrounded by he buildings with very long back gardens. I LOVE watching your ML series, so much. Thank you.
Can you put a Manor in each region?
I'm just trying it out for the first time, but I can't find the 'save and exit' button or key!
Where is it hiding?
Edited to add: I've found it, it's an option under the Escape key.
I hope everyone has fun playing this game since it came out today!!! Such a stunning game with so many things to do!! I love they have just a build only option as well. Sometimes that's all you want to do and not fight battles!! Love watching you play it Egg and I hope you will continue on for a while!! 🤩Learning so much from you for when I am able to get either a new computer, or this one fix so I can play it myself!!
Thinking about that house with the massive garden, do they produce more food than a house with a smaller garden (if they were both set to grow veg for example) or do they produce the same as they're not fields?
Episodes just get better and better!
Thank you!
I love this series! What a way to end the week
Manor Lords looks so insanely realistic. I can't wrap my head around the graphics of this game!
jork made me laugh so hard
Great to see that the settlements are starting to become autonomous and self sufficient! Can’t wait to see the fourth settlement get established
Your ML content is my favorite ML content. Keep it up!
Thanks for this content! If anyone loves manorial warfare and society I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's relative playlists
What happend with Thessia today :( / Cheers Daniel Jeppsson
Will be over the weekend, more Manor Lords as the game releases to public Early Access today.
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Ok. I just always miss Thessia ;) Cheers Daniel
Just hope you're not omitting some game play features like you did on CS 2 !
What gameplay features did I omit from CS2? I was honest with what that game was missing right from my early access series in August.
Zweiau (sp?) is such a cool little community, real quaint.
