I have a question about those tiny shunt looking things beside the power stages, are those for how AMD monitors power draw? Asking because I have a GTX 1050 and trying to defeat the power limit the only shunts the card has are like those but when I short them it doesn't help lower power draw reading at all...

Hey, couldn't you make a PCB comparison between a REF 5700XT and REF RTX 2060S/2070. But not in terms of which layout is (better), but rather which cards uses more expensive components. I think many people including me are curious about who's is making bigger margins from their respective cards.
the BIOS switch is there because you have the choice between normal BIOS and quiet bios (slight underclocking, but i'ts much quieter 37dba instad of 39dba. noise is doubled every 3dba, so it's like 60% less noisy) anyway, 37dba is still too much. The 5700(xt) red devil is still the king in terms of silence
It just has a very aggressive fan curve. You can modify that. Also realize that this is a pre overclocked card. You can drop it down to reference speeds and it will be quite quiet.

If you're really intent on buying the THICC, no, the EK block will not fit the THICC. Pretty much the only reason to buy the THICC is if you _really_ like the look of all the cheap plastic components covering the card and are willing to pay a premium for it. The VRM's aren't as efficient as the reference card, and the heatsink barely outperforms the blower and only does so when making slightly more noise than the blower. If you're going to eventually watercool the 5700 XT, buy a reference card.
Hello, I have just received a used Taichi X470 which was supposed to be in a working condition but as soon as I plug it on it turns on its blue LEDs and nothing else. Have already tried different working PSU while the CPU 2700X and RAM are tested successfully in another mobo which means the motherboard is dead. The mosfets are really tiny and can not diagnose them with a multimeter. Please do e repair video on that or provide an email address for further coordination if you want me to send you the board.

So it's nothing special but it's probably enough to do the 2 GHz overclock to push it to the 2070 super level, just like the reference but not as loud. I also heard the XFX card has a very aggressive fan curve out of the box, so changing the fan curve and overclocking it might not be a bad idea.
@@AtamrarisTibia The 2070 super is constantly 5-9 % faster than the 5700 xt which has a 1755 mghz game clock. If you get the 5700xt to 2ghz with some power modding it WILL match it. I believe there was even one tech UA-camr who got a powercolor red devil to 2.2 GHz.

@サイレス The red devil costs €500 and is out of stock pretty much everywhere. The sapphire pulse is available for orders but won't be back in stock for a while either. The thicc II is available for €449 amd the red dragon for 470 This is quite a mess... However. Since the thicc II spins so fast I'm afraid that it will shorten the lifespan of the fans. And it also consumes quite a bit more power than most other Navi cards, so that's a no So honestly idk what's the best option. I'd rather not buy a mediocre card so maybe I'll just wait for the red devil's price to calm down

suddenly I don't feel so bad for getting a reference card. AMD said they will stop making blower cards but continue providing the PCB to people to use, but no one is really using the PCB are they? The reference really is dead once sold out of blowers.
i think it's safe to say the blower card isn't the reference design. the layout used by the pulse etc is reference and the blower is a blower reference

All that matters is the performance. There is no point in overspending on components when the headroom for overclocking is small anyway. The thicc Ultra is on par with the red devil in performance so it is not relevant.

nope those are just 0 ohm bridges to configure which connector provides power to what.

looking at the disassembly part of the TPU review it looks like that 5pin is unused. Since the heatsink only has a 4pin connector from what I can see

I eeally messt up my rx5700xt thicc II board, I have pulled the fan cable on the board and 2 pins been removed so is there anyway too fix it ???

with +10% core in MSI Afterburner:
217W Core.

Furmark tends to bounce of all kinds of safety systems so it produces basically useless data.
