I had severe eczema as a baby it left when I was 7 then returned when I was 14 it was like a 7 year cycle . Through life it tended to subsid but in it's place I got asthma .Now in my menopause years I tend to get eczema on my face in all my eczema years and how severe I had it I never got it on my face but I found through trial and era I found cerave it helps my skin
Cetaphil actually has some pretty decent body washes, even the salicylic acid one is very hydrating & moisturizing. They just don't lather, which is off-putting for some.
I apply moisutrizer right after I shower and again before I go to bed but sometimes after a few hours of sleeping my skin feels dry again. It's like all the moisturizer is gone. And I get woken by feeling itchy. Cant sleep because of this
Dear Doctor, I want to know if Methylparaben is healthy for the skin, I know it's not healthy, maybe I'm wrong, ceraVee and cetaphill have it, thanks in advance😀
Ethyl, methyl and propyl parabens (I call them the wicked paraben sisters) are preservatives which are NOT healthy for your skin especially if you are allergic to them, which I am. Avoid them at all costs which is difficult because they are in almost everything!!! Use coconut oil and castor oil (for hair and skin) instead.
So tempted to try cerave Moisturizing cream but i am scared if this will be too oily for the combination but dehydrated skin... doctor will you recommend this for combination skin?
@@dr.jennyliugreat options! I find eczema products are terrific for my dry skin - and I don’t have eczema! My two cents about shampoos: though I live by Vanicream’s cleanser (can be drying) and the cream for my face and body (I am dry/super sensitive)…sadly, their shampoo dried out my scalp, turned my hair to straw and is not suitable for color-treated hair. I know everybody is different. Hope others have better results. It’s very hard to find a fragrance-free shampoo that does it all. I think I need to invent one.
Thank you for the valuable feedback on the products and educating us. I wondering if you could please recommend the alternative of cicaplast as you have suggested not to apply daily. what could be the alternative as I really need thick moisturiser. Thank you.
Thank you so much for posting such well researched and presented material. I was wondering about laundry soap. Are there products, out in the market place that you would recommend?
Daily use of any mineral sunscreen causes eczema on my neck that clears up when I stop using it. And I have to alternate brands daily or my neck gets annoyed. There is no product I’ve found that I can use twice a day on my face or neck. For a short time, I can use separate morning and night routines on a daily basis while my skin barrier recovers. As soon as it’s okay again, it’s back to having to alternate products daily or my skin barrier starts being compromised. I have an absurd amount of skincare as a result. My skin has always been difficult and has become more difficult as I’ve aged. It baffles dermatologists.
late response, but if you have an eczema + dry & sensitive skin combo like me, i use the cerave hydrating cleanser. it tingles my skin a little sometimes, which idk if that’s bad or not, but i’ve been using it for a long time and it’s hydrates my face. just make sure you pair the right things with it, or it’ll have that tingly sensation.
I am very disappointed in Cetaphil. I bought one bc it said fragrance free but I went online and researched every ingredient and at least four ingredients are scents. Explains why my face goes red after I use it. Now I’m looking for Vanicream in stores but no luck yet as their ingredients are much better.
My skin is sensitive with rosacea. I have several favorites that I've been using for years - Neutrogena Ultra Creamy fragrance free cleanser, Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion and SPF 30 - this sunscreen is lightweight and fragrance free, a nice matte finish without the white cast 😊
@@champagenroses I will look for Vanicream sunscreen next time I head south of the border. I’m in Canada and we don’t have Vanicream in stores here. Sucks. Luckily I bought two cleansers and a moisturizer I use daily. My skin is very happy with it. Couldn’t find any other Vanicream products though. I’ve tried Neutrogena but my face still reacts. I don’t even order Vanicream from Amazon anymore after the first time bc the price doubled since then. I’m just glad I’m not far from the nearest store that sells them.
@@dccd673 There is an online company in Canada that you can purchase the Vanicream products - allergy canada - they do have sales regularly. I recently bought the Moisturizing Lotion from Amazon 🙂

Can you recommend a moisturizer that has the same ingredients as the eucerin advanced repair, but no AHA? I find my eczema cannot tolerate long term use of ahas on a regular basis.
@@dr.jennyliuI used the CVS dupe for eucerin eczema today! thick, but not emollient or rich for my needs. Hard to spread, and almost leaves a white cast upon application before it's absorbed. Going to try to add some glycerin to help combat this so I can finish it.
I have been showering in lukewarm water for years now even in the winter and I am used to it now. So much better for skin!

Hi dr❤
Can we layer Tretinoin with copper peptides will that decrease the effectiveness of the copper peptide❤
No fine to use together
Wanted to love the LRP cicaplast baume on eczema flare up, but it burned and made skin itch like crazy :( also felt like my skin became more dry
So tempted to try cerave Moisturizing cream but i am scared if this will be too oily for the combination but dehydrated skin... doctor will you recommend this for combination skin?
Should be fine. You can try the lotion version first. Both are pretty watery imo
Thank you so much for this!

Is there a couple lip balms you recommend for eczema prone skin?
Thank you for sharing. Do you have SPF recommendations for eczema prone skin?
Cerave and cetaphil both have great options for sensitive skin so does eucerin and neutrogena

Hi doctor, could you please do a video on skin psoriasis
Thank you so much❤❤❤
Awesome video!
😢how can I get the cream to get rude of it
I find the eucerin advanced repair lotion (havent tried the cream yet) thicker than cerave. Stickier too, cerave is quiete watery imo
Can i use all of these for face as well? And the cerave SA is for face too?
Yes but if you’re prone to acne, you may want to use Face specific moisturizers
So natural and beautiful 🫶

Eucerin has an eczema line does not have AHAs
