It's 5am in the morning and my skin is so so bad I can't sleep and somehow this video was recommended to me... hope it helps and also I wish everyone out there with eczema, there is a mental health aspect to this too, you are not alone, seek help, talk to people, I know how much suffering we go through. We will get better!! Take care everyone
Thank you so much for this video, I have been struggling with eczema for years now and I keep going back to my doctor but my eczema is still very active and spreading. I went to get a referral to a dermatologist but the earliest appointment is in 5 months and this video has helped so much in the mean time.
I have had exzema for the last eight years and I tried a psoriasis and exzema cream called Sorion from Amazon, it is around $25-$30. It immediately started working. I haven't had any flare ups since applying the cream those several times that first day, two months ago.
one way to limit the bathing water time is to sit on the toilet bowl bending forward to wash your face and hair first then only stand up to do a full body wash lesser standing time too lol
Our baby girl has horrible eczema, to the point that her entire abdomen, legs, and arms are covered completely in dry patches. Normal baby lotion wasn’t doing the trick, so we tried Foderma. It works great! We apply it 2-3 times a day and it keeps her skin hydrated and her eczema at bay. The scent is super light and the lotion itself goes on smooth and spreads evenly and absorbs nicely into the skin. I highly recommend!
I had exmea for 6 months. Skin itching, peeling even after using steroid creams. I couldn't sleep. I worried lot I stop going to dermatologist. I use coconut oil. Daily Expose the body 20 mins. in morning sun light. I reduced non veg. I applied nivia moisturizer Cream 2 time a day. I reduced dairy products and meat, chck, fish. I eat daily omega3 supplement and probiotic. Now itching stopped. Skin peeling stopped. Now i 95% relivei from excema. Iam happy.
I love your talk! I suffered eczema for the past three weeks. I hope the cream you recommended can be at the store here in Canada. Thx for the knowledge:) God bless
Thank you for this video! Can you make a video of the different types of eczema, with photos? My son and I have eczema but ours look very different from one another.
Hi there!! I've had a lot of eczema as a kid (aggravated from my dust mite allergies). I've gotten most of it under control (it was all over-- on my neck, arms, legs, butt, face...). I've been getting a new location lately-- it's on the lips of my eyelids now. It's been tough figuring out what I can do for this and my primary care isn't being the most helpful. Any tips? :) Thanks for this channel! Def will explore your vids more!
@@alexeng9688 Still working on the whole dust mite thing-- it's a daily struggle involving constant sheet washing / exercise in the sun / Aveeno body wash / a lot of CeraVe Getting to a sustainable amount of eczema was something like 2weeks of skin steroid (my doc prescribed triamcinalone for the body). It didn't have success with it at first, but this time, i was given a tub (as opposed to a tube) of it to use generously twice a day. It worked super well-- I felt a slick surface on my skin as i took showers and saw the improvement over the first week. As for the eyes, I was prescribed a some non-steroid ointment-- it makes my skin burn a little (i was told it was normal so continued; no adverse effects). I also used this twice a day for about only a week tho and then started using aquaphor to maintain the eyes-- of course my pillow was the biggest trigger of this, so... it might be good to mention that I use a folded up throw blanket and place my pillow cover on top of it (so yea, i don't use a real pillow anymore). Hope this helps!
I just bought the Dove Sensitive Skin body wash to help with severe chronic eczema, which my allergist thinks may be triggered by using scented deodorants and body washes. I just used it, and I noticed it still has a bit of a fragrance. Will that be a problem? Should I find another body wash?
Hey Dr Jenny, love your videos. Just have 1 question if I may, the skin on my back feels dry in the middle of the night while sleeping, even if I apply moisturizer before bed, what do I do? I have no visible eczema patches on my back, but it's so itchy and it feels inflammed that I get woken up by my own skin and I cant sleep well.
I have an ecema when im 9n kuwait. Expensive stuffs doesnt stop it from itchy and pain. But, GLYSOLID GLYCERINE DOES. In my skin its perfect. 4 dermatologist looked at my eczema, and still no benifits with meds they gave. Only this red glysolid, so cheap price. Its only half kuwaiti dinar.
I have developed eczema at the age of 80. I can’t believe this is happening. I’m currently using Vaseline because everything else has alcohol in it and that stings. I don’t know of any others that don’t contain alcohol . Currently it is on my face and no where else.
Dr. Lou, do you have an opinion of yarrow oil possibly diluted with olive oil as a topical treatment & moisturizer? I have been moisturizing after a daily shower for over a year and just stopped using steroid cream (just about through the withdrawal symptoms) and now trying more natural remedies. I tried baby oil, various moisturizers and switched to just olive oil and now using black current seed oil and am slowly seeing results. Next up I plan to use the yarrow oil. . . . .
I have a question about hand soaps. One day I happened to rub my hands together after washing my hands and noticed a white residue appear which I assumed to be from the soap. The more I rubbed my hands the more white residue I saw and it took a very long time to remove completely. Among one of the questions I have about hand soaps is if it is normal for soap to be like that on our skin. Does skin have a sponge like quality to it where you have to rub and squeeze to see more soap on it? Some hand soaps contain moisturizers could that actually be what the white residue I am seeing is rather than soap? How do you recommend getting all the soap off our hands as we are rinsing them? I think I am at a point where I am making myself crazy trying to get all the white residue off my hands each time I wash them.
Can you help my dog has eczema what can I use. The Veteran prescribe Mycosyst but when I Googled the word it doesn't say anything about eczema,I need your help
i've tried the cerave moisturising cream and the la roche posay lipikaur baume, and none of them work! my skin is still red and dry and tight (to the point where it hurts) and flaky. i can see areas on my skin where it looks like the top layer has been stripped off. my skin feels rubbery. i use cerave hydrating cleanser too but my face feels stripped after. nothing i've tried has helped at all.
try aveeno skin relieve moisturizer, i use that and it’s work wonderful for me, or if u hv more budget, buy the aveeno eczema therapy, but if both of the product doesn’t works for u, u should go to the dermatologist so they can see what’s the best treatment for u
i'm facing the same situation, i did put a layer of vaseline after moisturizer and it helped a lot. In these days, I'll stay home in order to avoid putting on sunscreen which will require cleaning afterward and it irritates my skin greatly. Besides, literally every sunscreen burn my face so....
Firstly you should use your moisturizers when your skin is still kind of WET. Also you may mix your moisturizers with pure squalene (The Ordinary or Biossance both work) to make them more moisturizing. Personally think you should try Avene's Cicalfate+, I used to have a very small itchy patch on my face, I mixed this with a few drops of squalene and use it every day, weeks later that patch disappeared. This product only comes in very small tubes and is a very dense, white cream, so might be a tad costly to apply all over your body, but it is really soothing.
Hi! I'm a person of color with severe eczema on and around my eyelids. I don't have health insurance; therefore, I can't afford the services of a dermatologist. Can you recommend an over-the-counter alternative to a steroid ointment for use on that area?
Veganism is a cure. No doctor would tell you this.... including this one. I am a walking testimony. It takes time and it will get worst before it gets better but once you go thru that and possibly TSW, you'll be back to your original self. I PROMISE!
My baby constantly itches her vaginal area for months and ive tried everythjng doesnt work. Ive tried aquaphor didnt work . Do u think vanicream is good for her bottom
What has the pronunciation gotten to do with the info...sit there focus on pronunciation n forget the good infos she is sharing...pipo r really ......let me not say it

Was it a typo for “Foderma”? Do you mean “Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Balm”? Thanks!
Very thorough and helpful advice in managing eczema. Thanks Dr. Liu!
Such great information for us eczema sufferers! TY!
la Roche posey lipikar line has changed my life!!!!!
Castor oil and Vaseline treats my eczema… it’s been a game changer for my skin (my cheek area)

Please do a review of Facetheory products. Please 🥰
What do you recommend for the scalp?

That first laroche posay cream you recommended stings and it’s greasy. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have severe eczema like I do
I have an ecema when im 9n kuwait. Expensive stuffs doesnt stop it from itchy and pain. But, GLYSOLID GLYCERINE DOES. In my skin its perfect. 4 dermatologist looked at my eczema, and still no benifits with meds they gave. Only this red glysolid, so cheap price. Its only half kuwaiti dinar.
is it possible to develop eczema at 20 years old? also hormonal acnee and allergies?
I didn't develop eczema until I was a teenager, so I think it's possible but I'm no doctor.
it is possible, my eczema comes in my early 20, i didn’t even know at first that i hv eczema until i see dermatologist

Try Vanni cream has nothing in it they will stay
I had eczema when i was 34 😢

my doc prescribed hydrocortisone for it
out of all things, for me, cerave moisturising cream for dry to very dry skin works the best for my eyelids
Thank you pretty clear, next time slow it
I can't stand dove. it's heavily fragranced it fried my face
Use the un-cented, Dove!
Literally, the worst. So drying, so heavily fragranced.
My eczema gives me a mental Ness just so unbearable

She lost me when the use of Dove came up

NO CURE? That is not what an alternative doctor would say.
