- As Physical Therapists, we strongly encourage all of our clients to establish a daily walking program. We have our clients strive for 7,500 steps per day (if possible). The benefits of walking are numerous, check out my latest video to learn more!
I really appreciate your straight forward advice. I am 66 years old and have to keep up with my grandchildren!
Awesome and thanks!
Thank you.. for years on UA-cam I have been walking with WALK AT HOME videos. rain, heat, cold....no problem.
Excellent!
Good advice! I added 10# dumb bells in each hand, making a 30 minute walk a bit harder, but yielding BIG stamina benefits after a few weeks. Even 1-2# would have a good affect.
That’s great, keep it up 👍🏻
So happy to see a video from you… and more inspiration on walking! I recently had MOHS surgery on my nose -and plastic surgery…and my walks definitely help with my mood and energy. I walk at 6:15am(to beat the sunrise at 6:40)to 7:15, and this sets me up for feeling accomplished. (Plus helps keep me out of heat and strong sun.. I’ve had enough skin cancer, thank you!) plus I think the early sun in my eyes has really helped with my sleep cycle and it’s so much better.
When you did your walking video from India I found it so inspiring.. I stopped taking one day a week off and go for every day..no less than 7500 a day.
You always have great information and help. Thank you for these terrific videos!!
Hello Barb, thanks so much! Wishing you a speedy recovery from surgery and excellent job on the daily walking 👍🏻
This is great! ❤ I'm so glad you mentioned that 10,000 steps a day is great, but 7,500 or even 5,500 is still beneficial, depending on your age. I have beat myself up over not getting in 10,000 steps everyday, but I'm not inactive. The important thing is to keep moving. Thanks for setting the record straight! 👏
Awesome Mary, keep it going!
@@FrontRowwithEd Thanks, Ed; I will!
💯👏👍❤🙏 wonderful❗ thank you❗
You are very welcome Carol!

You bet!
Thank you, excellent
You are so welcome 🙏🏼
Im also a walker at 71 with a hip problem but I walk through it.
Awesome Merion, just remember to keep moving even if you need a walking stick! I have many videos on hip pain at the channel, just look for the hip pain playlist. You might find something that helps.
Can you speak more about walking with hip discomfort?
Funny, you should say that, I’ve been thinking about a video about walking and hip care, so stay tuned!
Thanks for the reminder...I shoot for 7, 500 or more per day.
Excellent, Debbie, keep it going!
I also have a hip problem when I walk too much
You can try walking backwards. Take a look at this video ua-cam.com/video/TLGgc3NBNjY/v-deo.htmlsi=HtrbbUJjK-qBDG3i
I am 70 years old and walk 25,000 a day
25,000 a day is incredible, wow, keep it up!
I wish I could walk, just going to the store, takes me hours of lie down to recover. The pain is so severe after walking. During lockdown, I was able to walk on my treadmill and bike on my recumbent bike but now I will be exploring a shot in my knee and a new drug when I visit with my rheumatologist in a week. I want to WALK so I can exercise and lose more weight, but it has become too painful. What are you doing to work on that ladie's hip?
Sorry to hear about everything you’re going through, but I think you have the right attitude as you want to try to stay active the best you can. I will be posting another video soon on hip pain with walking, so stay tuned, best wishes.
