If you have access to Ginger Island, you can get the recipe for Ginger Ale within the volcano and drink one for an extra +1 luck, since Drink buffs are separate from Food buffs. Getting 3 Ginger and 1 Sugar is also quite easy and inexpensive, so even if you don't feel like you need 2 buffs it's a viable alternative to the other luck-boosting foods. Just make sure to not accidentally override it with coffee! On that note, the desert trader always offers spicy eels in exchange for 1 ruby each, so you can get one there in a pickle. You could even set a crystalarium aside to duplicate rubies every 2 days and either sell the excess ones or use them as an almost universally liked gift.
Ohh nice tip! Magic Rock candy is your best bet here! +5 luck overall! But that can be very expensive to get. Ginger Beer + Lucky Lunch is the most cost efficient for sure!
