Q: How do you not take damage in the mines?
A: To make my life easier and make this video happen faster, I used one of the mods linked down below to pause time and take no damage.
Q: How did you get so many prismatic shards?
A: I had about 35 or so before making this video, found in my unmodded game. I used the item spawner mod to fill my house with more shards for dramatic effect.

Be sure to take a lot of ladders with you. So you dont have to look for ladders in the caves if you get to a monster heavy floor

guys if you’re feeling discouraged, try not to! i found my first in a fishing chest, then in a mystic stone in the quarry, from killing a skeleton in the normal mines, and then at the volcano forge. then recently, i got six in one skull cavern run! don’t give up!
I got my first for killing a bat. Fun fact: the moment you reach floor 120 in The Mines all enemies (and I do mean All) have a 0.04% chance to drop them indiscriminately meaning you can go Murder Mad on weak monsters at the early Mine levels and depending on how lucky one gets…

The first and only one I’ve gotten so far was from a lucky break in the quarry. Then I accidentally gave it to Pam 😫 when I meant to give her a beer. It was traumatizing.

Got my first shard today out of an Omni geode. Straight to the desert to get my sword. Afterward, I went to the Quarry for the first time on this character and got another one out of a Mystic Stone. That one went to the museum. Such a fun game.

I remember the first time I found one. I immediately went to donate it and found out the next day what you could use it for. So much retroactive pain.
I knew about the most interesting uses of the shard when I donated the first one.. I think I found it in a mysterious node down in the mines in my first year.. My thought was that I have to waste one for Gunther anyway and that I want to complete the museum.. xD I think I'll use the next one for the Galaxy Sword..

I found my 1st prismatic shard yesterday! I found it in the quarry. It was my 1st time ever seeing a rock with swirls, so I was super curious. Thankfully, I knew to take it to the desert instead of donating. The skull cavern feels less intimidating. I definitely have the check the guild for more galaxy weapons if they are unlocked now.
I go to the Skull Mines fully-stacked! All 3 types of bomb-boys (bought from our friendly neighborhood dwarf), as many triple-espressos as I can grow, brew, and make, along with purchasing (from our friendly desert trader) as many spicy eel meals via rubies and staircases with jade!!! Yet, I'm still super uneasy going into the skull mines, despite having all of the best equipment, "tools," and food. I just don't know what it is about it. Maybe it's just my brain having issues. In any case, I hope you're having a blast playing Stardew!!!💚💜💚
It sucks! I guess it'll just take practice. It's hard for me to take in and learn new things due to a variety of health issues and head injuries, though I keep trying. The last visit to skull mines ended with me dying while trying to escape and eat food. Luckily, this type of thing has happened to me so many times that I was fast enough to reset back to groundhog day before it saved. I swear, I played that day so many freaking times, never finishing (for a multitude of reasons). It sucks to see others who are so freaking good at it and then I can't get even a tiny part done in the same timeframe... But I won't stop watching because I enjoy them so much... Or stop trying to improve my own game. But man oh man, is it hard to find the proper motivation.

In my experience, the easiest way to get them is deep in the skull mine. The deeper you go the better. Build staircases and bombs to help clear floors fast and rush down as far as you can go.

The burglar ring is insane, it straight up doubles all drops. I've gotten pretty much all of my shards from random monsters in the mines and skull cavern, along with some other good stuff. Farming dust sprites is now one of the first things I do in a run

@@senbebe3320 nope. The game only checks if you have at least one burglar ring equipped, so multiple rings make 0 difference. Also, prismatic shards might not even be affected by the burglar ring from what I have heard.
@@senbebe3320 Nah they don’t stack. You’re better off combining the burglar with the luck ring, if you want the best chance of drops. Personally I use the burglar ring paired with the slime ring, and the iridium ring paired with the luck ring for maximum drops.
Ironically, I got 2 prismatic shards farming dust spirits
@@brayerkh luck ring has no effect on drops, because player luck and daily luck for that matter have no effect on the monster loot chances

Also, a tip when coming to the dino egg, use it in your chicken coop first before putting it in the museum. It took me 7 real life months on my save before I got another one.
i mean, you can just go to the skull caverns go down until you run into a pre historic floor and kill some dinos and get a dino egg
@@witha1 yes but the Dino egg is rare drop compared to what the other drops are as well as the floor itself. So yes, that is the "easier" thing to do but why potentially waste as much time as I did and go the actual way route, ya know?
@@larchan1350 the icubator way is a lot slower since it takes like multiple days to hatch and like an entire in-game season (i think) for the dino to grow up and then a few days till it lays an egg, while going to the skull caverns could take like one day bc you're bound to find at least 1 pre hostoric floor while going to floor 100+
@@witha1 it takes a while yes but as long as you don't rid of the Dino after it hatches, you can have multiple eggs without having to go to the mines and if you do multiple coops, you can do different chickens as well

I got my first prismatic shard on Day 1 fall year 2. I was on an infested floor in the mines. I was thinking about skipping it but I decided not to because I thought there would be grubs on that floor (I had to slay 50 of them for clint). Instead of finding grubs, I found a prismatic shard.

I got my first prismatic shard by one day deciding to revisit some of the lower levels in the mines. I was wandering around and killed one of those bugs that just fly back and forth and can die really easily. I killed it, it dropped a prismatic shard somehow, and I nearly threw my switch across the room

iv got one prismatic shard from an iridium ore in the quarry, and used it for the galaxy sword, a HUGE upgrade to my insect head, also farming in skull cavern is a good way, due to the sheer amount of enemys, iridium nodes, and mystic stones

I've found three Prismatic Shards in my time, one from fishing, one from mining, and one as a lucky monster drop. Used them to get the Galaxy Sword, donate to the museum, and finish the last bundle, in that order.
You get one in a chest at the end of the volcano dungeon on ginger island.

I thought the one chest by the forge is supposed to be a prismatic shard, to use for your first enchantment I believe. Not sure what to make of what happened in your playthrough. :/

Or my personal favorite method...
Constantly invade the skull caverns with loads of mega bombs and stone staircases in hand. That and plenty of meds for the very lower levels from holes in the ground. Did I mention stacks of iridium ore in the process?

@@sexygarfield5001 They only show up lvl 100 or lower in the mines. So no. She probably got the stardrop, then dropped it from a monster by a 0.05 chance.
I found my first prismatic shard from slaying a bat in the mines, screamed in shock and immediately went to the desert the next day for the sexiest sword.
This channel is the best! The first time I got one was in the skull cavern, but I was on a race to level 100 and made a mistake so I had to restart the game and lose the shard 😂
I got lucky while "mining" on the quarry and got my first 2 prismatic shard in a row somehow... really helpful for getting the galaxy sword before diving to skull cavern. Haven't turn it to Gunther yet, it's too precious. 😭🤚
I know I found mine in Skull Cavern, either from an enemy or a rock, I was dying the those caverns, but because of this video I'm now a proud owner of that sword! I'm still dying though!

I got my first prismatic shard the same time as my second one while fighting two slimes on a level 40-60 floor of Skull Caverns. I was super surprised and still am, considering how low those odds had to be.

That’s funny, the first two days after I acquired the bridge upgrade via the Community Centre. Three had probably been there for a while or recently spawned which I harvested on the first day and one had spawned in the following week on my second visit, I am currently saving it for the Galaxy Sword as gifting to NPCs isn’t my main priority.

A little extra tip if you have access to the geode crusher, place one in Clint’s shop so that if you get a prismatic shard you can throw the next Omni geode you have in it to get a second prismatic shard.

I'm in year 5 in game and i found 4 of it by mining and slay a green slim in secret woods and omnie geods
If you happen to be on PC (I think it’s possible on another device type but I’m not sure) you can get them by buying a farm animal and including the item ID for the prismatic shard in the animals name, it will only give you one per animal but that’s still pretty good :) I know some people don’t like to use this method tho

In one of my first ever games, I found a P-Shard earlier than ever since - and gave it to Gunther!
Until recently (v1.4), my favourite way to get a Prismatic Shard was...not to.
Due to a coding duplication, if you held the plain, pale green wallpaper between the pillars - Hey Presto - Galaxy Sword! **This does NOT work anymore**
One exploit that DOES still work is to add item codes to your animal names.
Is it "cheating"? - YES.... but it's "adjustable" cheating. ;-)
If you call your first chickens Layla[74] & Eggatha[74] (square brackets required), then as Marnie names each, sending them to your coop, you will get one Prismatic Shard. I have more often used [645] (Iridium Sprinkler), which can be made "less-cheaty" using [337] (Iridium Bar], or even [386] (Iridium Ore)... or, for the random chance detailed in your video, [749] (for an Omni Geode).
I got my first out of an omni geode my 2nd was out of the quarry a few game days later.
I still remember being so happy cause I had donated the 1st on to the museum and I knew how rare they were.

I actually found my first one with some iridium ore the second time I went panning! on that particular file I managed to do it twice more. panning is definitely underrated!
I got my first prismatic from mining and my all time favourite use is peeving off Hailey! Second favourite use is sword.
I got SO lucky - found one in the Quarry - and my second one when Fishing (treasure box). I used one for a Museum Donation, and the other for the Missing Bundle in the Joja Mart Ruins. 3 years on and still not found my 3rd LOL - I've bred Rainbow Trout, I've explored Skull Cavern a few times, but no luck since those first two.....all good fun :)
I'll definitely go to the quarry and in the mines more often because I have yet to find a prismatic shard, haha. I did luck up and get a magic rock candy from (if I remember correctly) defeating some monsters the other day in the mines.

I remember that me and my friend both got prismatic shards in summer year 1 from the mines, oh wow we were surprised.
My third play through, I had the bugs from 10-20 drop them 3 times, and it honestly spooked me.
I had never heard of the magic rock in the mines until watching this video, LITERALLY 3 minutes after watching i found one and got my shard haha. Last week i got a random shard from the flying bugs in the early mine levels!

The first time I found one was while I was in skull Cavern 4 the second time. I was really scared because the last time I was in skull Cavern I didn't have a weapon strong enough to kill the monsters so I just got swarmed and almost died immediately but I needed iridium and being in the mines all day mining Omni geodes didn't help give me the amount I needed fast enough. While being attacked by monsters I got caught in my mega bombs' explosion so I couldn't tell if it came the monsters I killed, the monsters that got caught in the explosion, or from any of the ore&rocks destroyed by the bomb
Well at least you got something out of that stressful sounding situation

Also! If anyone is still here, there’s a monochromatic greeny-blue wallpaper that will work as a prismatic shard in The Missing Bundle! This works in 1.5 (my bestie and I did that on our save file). No such luck getting the galaxy sword though! Hope this helps someone.

Got one from a mystic note on my quarry as I was watching the part with the mystic stones XD

In my first playthrough i got it from the swirly rock, but in my second I got one from rainbow trouts without knowing they could drop it

I just got my first one on a sever with my mom! There were two of the mystic stones and I guess I choose right because her mystic stone didn't have a prismatic shard. Then I got my second one a day later in a omni geode and gave it to her.
One of those flying serpents dropped 2 (two) at the same time!!! I was so lucky, couldn't believe
I litterly got the shard in year 2 while not even trying. thats my biggest flex ever
I got my first pristmatic shard from the dust spirits so heres the story: I was grinding up for the burglar ring to get a higher chance on getting a prismatic shards and I didnt need it I got my prismatic shards i run as fast as i could to get the galaxy sword and I go to the Skull Cavern and found 5 iriduim ores and I got a lucky ring I was so shocked that I got hose items in 1 day
Recently started playing Stardew. While trying to get gems for my midnight squids, I randomly got a prismatic shard from a red slime in the mines. First, and so far only, prismatic shard i've gotten.
Used it to get that galaxy sword so I can mine Skull Cavern for iridium.
I remember that i found my first prismatic shard at the quarry in the magical looking gem rock. I also got a diamond and some iridium as well.
