@@goutfromfriedokra7099 not really. The only thing and I think you get this with all Tesla’s is that some parts of the interior seem a little cheap. Most of the price is in the tech and batteries I think. But I don’t really have any problems with it.
Love that every reviewer specifically mentions that there is no rear middle headrest, despite it being incorrect and you can even clearly see it in this video. (10:52) Tesla did too good of a job hiding that thing, lol.
Having owned both a Model 3 and a Model Y, I definitely feel that the Y is a more functional, everyday usable car, especially if you have a family or need to haul things frequently. The Model 3 however is a better performing car, especially with handling. It's like driving a little race car and can be driven very aggressively if desired. The Model Y is a bit more clumsy and definitely doesn't handle as well. But, it's still a blast to drive.
@David Amendola I'm not an automotive engineer, so I can't answer your question, but I can affirm the truth of Jason's statement. I test drove both models. The Model 3 was exciting and handled even a little better than my BMW M Coupe. The Model Y just did not feel sporty. I have no need for an SUV, not having to haul around a bunch of brats.
@David Amendola The weight sits higher though in the Model Y. It's like if you put wide tires on a Jeep Wrangler, it's still not going to turn well at high speed and could just roll over because it is so top heavy lol
Cybertruck dual motor FSD on order. I would have gotten the model Y a long time ago if it could fit all my kids; unfortunately a 7 seater is too small to replace my family vehicle. Luckily my vehicle doesn’t have to fit everyone and the truck is more functional which is how I made my decision.

The sunroof does not block all the heat. It gets extremely hot when the sun is out. You feel the heat bearing down on your head and even with air conditioning high, it gets VERY hot. I like the Model Y for most of the same reasons you do. The things I dislike are: 1) the front bumper area is not sleek/beautiful; 2) lack of visibility out the back window. These are a small price to pay for all the things I do like. I would never buy a Model 3, because I can't load my bicycle into the back (without a lot of hassle). It has the HW4 and newer cameras and got the Dark Midnight Silver/grayish body color with black interior. My older Monte Carlo is Silver with Black interior, so I got the same thing in this Tesla. The vehicle has all the features I would ever need. I am retired and will just be driving around town and short single charge trips. Charging done in home garage. About the ghost braking, I’ve had it on my EAP equipped S for the past 4 years. Ghost braking happens to me most often on the same multi-lane road when driving under tall trees that cast shadows on the road. The surface is quite light and the shadows seem to disturb the autopilot. It wants to brake. It also happened when something small was on the road. Have to add that Autopilot has effectively saved me from a crash at least 4 times. One time it detected that a car driving in front of the car in front of me, performed an emergency brake manoeuvre. It allowed my car to reduce speed significantly even before the car in front of me started braking. It’s fractions of seconds. He was surprised and nearly crashed into the one in front of him. I initially thought it was another ghost braking case, but it quickly became clear the system prevented an emergency stop. The cars behind me could brake normally. This kind of situation can quickly cause a pile-up. Not perfect, but still way better than nothing. It really feels like being a pilot in the car.
Having test drove the Model Y last week I was a little disappointed in the handling ability compared to my Model 3. My model 3 sticks to the road like nothing I've ever driven but the Y rolled around and it felt a little unsafe a high speed. Obviously its bigger and a better looking car but when I got back into my Model 3 LR it put me off upgrading to the Y. But given the fact Tesla upped the price of the 3 from £50k to £55 I probably will buy the Y at some point in the near future. I will miss my 3 though such a better car for the driver.
Also, almost everything on the screen can be controlled via voice control with the right scroll wheel on the steering wheel, simply push hold and speak
Brilliant thanks. Really in depth review. I test drove the Model Y and the 3. Sure the 3 was more refined but I loved the Model Y more , felt better and more spacious. Will put an order in for Quicksilver color with black leather ( vegan ) seats
Great review of the car. Did you notice if this car came with the heated steering wheel? Some owners taking delivery are not happy that the heated steering will was not installed! Also, still disappointed this car does not come with "heads up display" or even a "garage door opener". Seems silly to have these as standard features when most all cars at this price point have them.

I had the FCW with my Nissan Rogue and I also had the same problem. The car when passing an underpass it will sometimes phantom break. It is one of the most scariest experience because you automatically get concerned of getting rear ended.
Phantom braking is still there. My wife and I have owned an MS and MX each a M3P each and we are now swapping to two MYPs - suffice to say we love a Tesla. However, phantom braking is awful when it happens. Low bridges tends to be the thing that triggers our cars. We have the latest tech and software versions so vision only hasn’t solved it. Great review and aren’t they great cars.
Tesla only takes off the 1-foot acceleration on the Performance/Plaid models, not the long range. So the acceleration gap between performance and long range models isn't as much as the numbers appear.
It's still around a second faster. But the difference is not in the 0-60 but past that, the LR model uses the old motors which rapidly lose power the faster you go
Great reviews👍👍. I have a 2018 model 3 and waiting to upgrade for a model Y once it's made in Texas and has front and rear casting along with 4680 battery cells 👍. Bonus would be U.S federal tax incentive 😁.
21:27 Hope you didn't just corrupt the owners flash drive taking it out that way. You should have powered the Model Y off first before taking it out. The flash drive that came with my Model 3 didn't even last 2 months and Tesla won't replace it since it's normal wear and tear even though it was taken out properly which you didn't do.
Currently has a 2022 Acura MDX and Thinking of buying a 2021 Model X with 40k miles. How far do teslas run til approximately. Thank you in advance for your answers
Phantom braking did happen to me today for apparently no reason, there was nothing to break for. The other day phantom braking occurred when a camper had an open latch swinging in the air, though it wasn't going to hit the car.
I bought my model X in 2017 and now have 100k+ miles and I still am in awe of the handling and acceleration. For me it never gets old.

best model Y review on yt
Thank you for this awesome video! Just ordered mine and delivery is in a few weeks!🤩
Would you recommend a Y LR or a 3 performance?
The door closing sound its like close the trash aluminium bin 😂😂😂
This is the exact 👌 video I was looking for..
beautiful review man nice work
12:50 you said there is no headrest... I have the 2021 model y and there absolutely is a headrest. But it is hidden, you have to pull it up ;)
It was a good review 👍
Tesla only takes off the 1-foot acceleration on the Performance/Plaid models, not the long range. So the acceleration gap between performance and long range models isn't as much as the numbers appear.
It's still around a second faster. But the difference is not in the 0-60 but past that, the LR model uses the old motors which rapidly lose power the faster you go
1 second is significant
You can add the acceleration boost for $2000 USD as a download. 0-60 mph goes from 5.8 to 5.2 seconds.
LR is a great car. Performance you also get 21 in. Uber rims, carbon spoiler, performance breaks, and lower suspension. Also a great option.
Great reviews👍👍. I have a 2018 model 3 and waiting to upgrade for a model Y once it's made in Texas and has front and rear casting along with 4680 battery cells 👍. Bonus would be U.S federal tax incentive 😁.
You forgot it also is missing basic functions any other cars have like parking sensors or ultra sonic sensors
The LR can have a boost upgrade making it very fast.
I ❤ my Model Y....great car!
Great review I think I am going to buy one
Currently has a 2022 Acura MDX and Thinking of buying a 2021 Model X with 40k miles. How far do teslas run til approximately. Thank you in advance for your answers
Best review of the Model Y I've watched so far. May I ask where you got the ceiling lights from?
Phantom braking did happen to me today for apparently no reason, there was nothing to break for. The other day phantom braking occurred when a camper had an open latch swinging in the air, though it wasn't going to hit the car.
