I have one of these and it's awesome but they do need to improve the suspension and a little more sound insulation. I still prefer the Y over those German SUV's overall due to environmental issues, performance, efficiency, and tech.
It's the tires. Performance tires have very stiff sidewalls which help us take those sharp corners without much body roll but the negative is the road noise, transference of more vibrations to the car and harsher ride. Change those to something quieter and softer for a more comfy quiet ride. Also change from 20"" wheels to 19x9.5 light weight racing wheels aka rims (Enkei RPF1's are 17lbs vs stock 19's at 25lbs on the model 3) which improves suspension response and range / HP gain due to reduction of rotational mass. If you have 19's as on the model 3's, drop down to 18"'s. I'm on lightweight racing wheels by Enkei 18x9.5 +38 (17lbs) and 245/40/18 performance tires on my model 3. Comfort is perfect for me.
It seems exaggerated responded to the instant torque for the acceleration. The first time I tried on my Model X P100D with Ludicrous mode on ran 0-60 in 2.87 seconds as the device showed. I did not even have your exaggerated reaction. Yes, it slapped me to the seat, but the sensation is just like a rush of power pushing your forward and that only lasted less than 2.87 seconds for me. I drove my wife's Model Y Performance, which ran a 0-60 3.66 seconds time and I did not even feel that great of a rush anymore. I see many youtubers trying to exaggerate the reaction to the acceleration. It isn't really that crazy, it is manageable and quite under control and that rush of power will be gone between 2.7 and 3.7 seconds for the Performance versions of Model X and Y. May be it is just me. I don't even drive fast, but the first time doing the 0-60 time test, I did not even feel that crazy.
This is true. Tesla is an innovator in the car industry but it's not as refined as the older manufacturers are. I think the more reviews and criticism they get on their cars and hopefully more funding, they get more high quality engineering instead of money saving. But then again, maybe they are the Dodge of electric cars. Who cares about quality when you can go from 0-60 in 1.99 seconds right?
Good review. Lots of details on vehicle features that aren't covered in other videos on the Y. And some of your reactions to the performance are a riot ;-)
Great video, sir!! Question, how’s the driver’s seat leg room given your height? I am 6’5” and am concerned with the comfort in the driver’s seat. Thanks for the informative video!

Review said 4680 cells and not 2170 which isn’t true. 4680 cells are not in mass production and will not be for months.

@@DenisDamulira23 why not 18" wheels on the Y performance?
A-YYYYY I'm here for the T-Shade 🍵 and the CK

@@gokaruna best of both worlds. 18” would affect cornering and sharp response but they’re def more comfortable

Great video ! Are the seats from model 3 and model Y not the same ???
Wow thank you! I don’t think so. The base of the seats seemed to have more cushion in them.
