Close, but not quite. This cartridge is slightly longer than the Mauser 7.92mm, but a smaller diameter .270 bullet. The .270 gives you a flatter trajectory at longer ranges for deer.
always loved when rifles have those stocks that go right up until the barrel like this. Reminds me of the Karabiner 1888
