You can actually get a clue as to whether to expect a round in the chamber by looking through the cocking handle channel. If the hammer it's forward, it's unlikely a round is in the chamber. Because when the hammer comes forward, the round in the chamber is fired, bolt comes back and re-cocks the hammer. Now the hammer is back (where you can't see it) until the trigger is pulled again. The only way to have a live round in the chamber with an uncocked hammer is if the round was a misfire.

For all of you who didn’t know this: there’s many channels on YT just like this one, where they will “restore” a random firearm. 90% of the time they’re just scrapping rust off and oiling it 😂 clearly they rust it themselves and are just re-cleaning it. Bro had a modern mag on it, he’s not even concerned about anyone questioning that (which some of yall did) . And no, he probably didn’t find this submerged underwater lmao. Had that been the case this thing would be bright orange with clumps of rust. Also it would be deeply discolored from the water itself. Moral of the story, stop believing everything you see on YT.
