Signal on the left: 4 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights, an NEG electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of GRS Lex-C 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, an NEG incandescent gate light (on the ped gate), and RECO LED gate lights.
Pedestrian signal on the left: a US&S Model 75 gate mechanism and a RECO LED gate light.
Pedestrian signal on the right: a US&S Model 75 gate mechanism and an NEG LED gate light.
The day after I got to New Jersey, I went out to the CSX River Line to catch some trains. Unfortunately, it was rather slow that day but I did get a few crossings recorded. This was the first train that I caught: CSX Q403 heading south with a YN2 AC44CW leading a YN3 AC44CW and a YN3b ET44AH with a large transformer (undoubtedly heading for a substation) right behind the engines.
This crossing is a rather neat one, IMO. Not only does it have what are the last GRS Lex-C lights along the line (at least in New Jersey), but it also has US&S gate mechs and an NEG e-bell that rings while the gates are down. This crossing also has a few cameras set-up at it by UA-cam user Big Trains TV and they stream the crossing 24/7, with videos recorded from the crossing being uploaded onto their channel. In fact, in their video of Q403 from September 11th, 2017, I can be seen periodically throughout the video, just as I was seen on their livestream:

Great Catch
Thanks!

Good job men nice video new Jersey weather is warm up there hotter than Orlando Florida be safe out there
Thanks!
Great Crossing! Love those GRS LEX-C 12x20” lights!
Thanks! Same here!
It seems like the gates are hit or knocked down a lot. On July 2nd a bus ripped the gate on the right off and it got ran over by the train! Then on July 27 a car crashed the the gate on the left that was already down, and missed the train by 3 seconds! The gate on the right was also hit by a truck not even a month before this video.
What Brand Named Traffic Lights Are Those?
Great crossing and video! Love the Lex-Cs!
Thanks!
Nice video! This crossing remains completely the same in 2021, except for the safetran gate mech closest to the camera was replaced with a Siemens gate mech because the old one dropped to the ground bending the gate! But those cantilevers are really cool!
Thanks! Good to hear the Lex-C lights and Model 75 gate mechs are still there.
@@freebrickproductions yup! I’m glad there the same two!
Nice
Thanks!
Great catch! Nice YN2 leader and K5LA too.
Thanks!
Long train
Looks like it's slow down and coming in a stop by CP10 by Teaneck NJ
I like the fact that they do not have yellow trap at that light
Great video, that train was really long wow!!!!!
Thanks!
Yea, ever since Hunter Harrison took over CSX, hes been pushing for long trains, and this is really putting a strain on this line.
I want a crossing tour of this...
A bit too late, as I'm not gonna be back up in that area any time soon.
Awesome Video David!
Nice catch with the Transformer. Might be another delivery for the NYS&W or something
You have to let me know when you'll be back to New Jersey so we can film together, i would've filmed this time, but we had a death in the family, so things have been really hetic
Thanks! I've got plenty more videos from New Jersey coming. I'm hoping to get back up here sometime within the next year or two, but we'll have to see. Sorry to hear about your loss.
if you do make another trip north, please see if you could visit Massachusetts.
I live in Bergenfield I like seeing trains for by there
These shots are better than mine at this crossing
FYI, Lincoln County, WA Has 5ish crossing with US&S Gate Mechs
BNSF uses a lot of US&S Model 95 gate mechs, so I'm not surprised.
How can you tell the difference between a NEG and GS2 bell?
Base, coloration, and the fact that NEGs have an external volume control on the side of the bell that GS e-bells lack. Newer NEG e-bells also typically have an NEG branding sticker on the side of them too.
Is that the first time going to New Jersey?
Yes.
Freeebrick its cool talking to you!(:
Nice video! Did you also see Q010 here?
Thanks! No, I believe I missed that one as he was passing when I got to Columbia Avenue.
Freebrick, just a question, did ya check out that crossing image i sent you?
Where'd ya send it to me on?
Province line north side.
Wow nice!
Thanks!
Bells at this crossing keep ringing once the gates are lowered. This is uncommon on csx crossings
That's from the Big trains live
Yea, it's the crossing he has his camera set-up at, as it says so in the description.
I know that area
Kasey wait you do!?! wow!😱😱😱🤔😀
Yes
Hmmm, did the equipment here get replaced? Some of the equipment seems shiny for some here...
They were in the process of repainting the gate mechanisms here at the time.
Yeah i now sigal man to! Pal(: i hop he makes new
Is that a preemption?
Yep!
freebrickproductions never seen a preemption with a green light
Cool
Freebrick com to hammmond la railroad plz
There's actually another railfan in your area who records railroad crossings. I think his name here is TheSignalMan2000, IIRC.
