Crossing Gates Having Seizure! Malfunctioning Railroad Crossing Gates Shaking Like Crazy!!

- Railroad crossing gate malfunction on CSX mainline! Crossing gates not operating properly. Crossing gates were shaking nonstop with no Amtrak Auto train or CSX freight for miles! Millenniumforce and I railfanned Tracy Rd Hilliard Florida. This is northern Florida just south of Folkston Georgia. Mrs Tooth and I filmed this on February 2, 2017. After I show the malfunctioning crossing gate, we filmed both sides of a doublestack intermodal southbound freight train. looks like CSX knows they have a problem with that gate as the trains are going very slow on that track plus looks like they even slow more when they get to the crossing.
Wow. That shaking gate might have been caused by the moon. I saw it right above the gate!!! Shout out to Mrs. Tooth!!!

It was like summertime when I was in Florida. the weather was great. A few days ago I caught the flu or a really bad cold. I spent most of the weekend in bed. I can't wait for summer also. Awesome I hope you make some chicken noodle soup. That's what I'm getting my wife to make for me. Lol. This flu really has me down. I haven't been sick in a long time. A neighbor of mine lost his drone over my farm. The winds blew it back into the woods somewhere and he looked for it and could not find it. I'm going to help look for it when I get better.

My neighbor found his drone today. I went out to look at it for a few minutes. It wasn't very big. I can see how the wind carried it out of range. Glad he found it finally. It was chilly and windy today so I didn't stay out side very long. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warmer so I will probably be outside for a little bit. Its about 45F here right now. What is the temperature where you live?
While I wouldn't necessarily have called it a huge malfunction thats still pretty weird. Great catch none the less.

Looks like the motor which keeps gate upright is slipping, and has to keep correcting itself, if you notice the gate goes all the way up then immediately sags and starts jittering. Report it to the number on the crossing, isn't a hard fix.
Ratchet assembly malfunction but gates worked properly. Call the number. A little squirt of oil will probably repair malfunction

There RR crossing all ways does that whenever I see the particular crossing.its common know for a simple wire outage.

The problem you see with the crossing is. It's obviously the epicenter for some serious super heavy weight railfanning.

the shaking railroad gate has to do with the motor and the settings inside the box of the crossing.
The reason it's messed is cause someone pushed it in causing it not to go back between the 2 metal pieces

According to Millenniumforce: the gate was not locked in the 'raised' position; so he might have pushed the counterweight to lock it in that position...

The Hold Clear mechanism is out of alignment. When it is, the catch and ratchet for the gate motor acts like the rocking wheel inside of an wind up clock. The guy in this video shows how the railroads fix it;
