The seventh and final train that I caught in New Hyde Park was an eastbound double-decker train with a DE30AC pulling it! Due to how long the crossing was down before the train arrived, how the horn sounded, and how they were blowing the horn, I had thought that this might've been one of the LIRR's freight trains at first.
This crossing is the only crossing in New Hyde Park to feature cantilever signals, and like the 12th Street crossing, it also has the bells ring while the gates are down. The crossing also has all Alstom LED gate lights for the road gates, likely from people wiping out the old gate arms. Oddly enough, the pedestrian gate on the right-hand signal lacks any gate lights what-so-ever. The extra pair of front lights on the gate mast of said signal also exist for extra visibility of the mast lights, as you see in this video. Unfortunately for this crossing, there was no-where really good to set-up on the south side of the crossing, though of the two angles I chose, I prefer the this one, mostly due to the fact that the left-hand cantilever's lights aren't blocked by numerous poles. Also note the extra crossbuck on the gate mast of the left-hand cantilever.

BTW, this crossing is now closed permanently as the LIRR is adding an underpass here as they continue to expand the 3rd tracks project. im heading out here Wednesday to see whats been done

Sounds like a third track will improve efficiency along this line, so I'm personally for it (even though I don't live there). Also, trains are 20x better for the environment than cars, so...
