I'm always so proud of the working homeless. My partner got a job when we were homeless for three months this year and held it down but he had all sorts of health issues at the time, like trench foot, and found it hard to find a shower. They have to go through so much, and still hold a job down anyway. That is to be respected.
@@hh-ck3yw Well the leisure centres at Tenbury Wells and Malvern, Worcestershire, you have to pay for a swimming session to be able to use the shower facilities, whether you swim or not.
I'm in the same boat I live in Oxfordshire and it's disgusting the prices around here to rent a room is 550 650 a month thats just for a room a flat is around 1200 a month your just working to live in housing no money for fun or pleasure just live for a roof over our heads no wonder people are suffering with mental health things need to change!

Totally agree. Minimum wage is not fit for purpose. It was brought in to stop farmers taking advantage of imigrants workers. Then all the factory's jumped on it to save themselves on wage bills. And governments have done nothing to stop them. Minimum wage is not a recommended wage. It's the lowest you can pay without breaking the law.

@@adrianrouse5148 actually the minium wage is extremely successful. The idea behind a minium wage is to set standardised minimum price for hourly labour cost. Without the minimum wage today, one company could employ some for £3 an hour while anther paid £12 an hour.

I learned tonight that there are homeless people who do work. I volunteer at a homeless shelter regularly but I am always doing overnights. So I never got to talk to the guests. But today I worked an earlier shift and learned something new.
Let's get something straight, sleeping outside for one night teaches someone nothing about rough sleeping. Sleep outside for one night is called camping and children do that.
1. Before they could build up the millions affordable housing in some areas, why not transform some old buildings into shelters ? 2. The system has failed the peoples in many ways . a) Insufficient jobs b) wages are too low c) Room and house rentals are too high d) Rent and price of the properties are damn high without control e) Inflation rate is not under control f) Is there anything been doing to solve the poverty and homelessness ?

But at least many years ago there were a lot of squats and cheap lodging houses which acted as a safety valve. But over the past 20 years or more squatting has almost totally vanished and there is no cheap accomodation anymore anywhere.
It's almost impossible for somebody to go to work when they' are sleeping at night on the streets living on the streets they have no where to cook a meal and no where to have a wash and have to get up in the morning and go to work,, nobody could do this for a very long before they give up.. I find it hard to understand why somebody would even want to go to work and pay taxes when the government of the day are prepared to allow these people to live on the streets.. When Norman tabith said a few years ago go out on your bike and look for work it won't come to you he put nothing in place for those people that may have found a job to have somewhere to sleep at night..

I remember being homeless and living in shelters and looking at Christmas trees and people going home and just wishing and waiting for it to be me. And finally I was able to get my housing. But I live in the u.s.
That is the absolute WORST part about it..watching people go home every night and knowing that you have nowhere to go home to. Sadly I'm likely facing this situation again very soon. I've honestly been considering ending it all rather than having to live like that again

At some point in the last century, someone came up with a unique and workable way to make houses faster and actually affordable. Cement anyone? This individual made a contraception that had the MOLD of an actual house. Cement was poured into this mold and left to set. When set, the mold of course was removed. These houses were finished off in record time. The reason it did not take was because people did not like the layout of the house - or something like that. Nowadays, this is a real solution and should be reconsidered as a viable way to solve a deliberately created problem under a pretense to force people to find work that is not there relative to the population. In Europe and Canada you can sleep in a park in summer and is OK A few times I got a bed in a hostel by agreeing to clean which is a good deal The upshot is I am now 50 and worth over a million so it worked out Problem now-a-days is that the dope-cannabis is too strong and makes you dumb, empty and 'gloomy on the pipe', i.e. short fused when not smoking usually
Homes should be built for the homeless. Perhaps those with a lot of palaces in this country should all share one Palace and one holiday home as they are very big and require a lot of staff and heating.

I've seen "few" time homeless people has been assaulted on London streets. You can try to stay at work place if your boss will agree - keep place clean and tidy ...

That is in Ealing. A lot of the people that attend that Centre are not homeless. Around 65% that attend that Centre are lonely and find it useful to obtain handouts meant for homeless user's.
