This whole world needs more love and compassion.
This isn't the whole world most of these people are active addicts or mentally ill and refuse services because they are required to stop using or take their mental health medications.
@totalfaith4375 Yes - all the churches should open their doors overnight, to allow these people to sleep under a roof.
No, it needs more social housing, lots more.
@@rayclam8079 and to stop housing illegals
There are thousands of Lindy on streets. Sad and heart breaking.
No there aren’t.
There are things that can be done for homeless, some of them lived in tent cities but they get treated like terrorists
This was a very compassionate piece, thank you~
This is truely heartbreaking rest in peace lindy
No one rests in peace unless they had a close, saving relationship with Jesus, the Son of God. Seek Him today before you die. We aren't guaranteed tomorrow. Don't put this off! Jesus loves you, but He's holy. Confess your sins and repent. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to come into your life and save you.

This is absolutely shameful. Smh. Get this government out.
I believe it would make no difference, all governments are the same. The people need to be more helpful and responsible for the homeless and to stop ignoring them and treating them as a burden, they are human beings who need help and support.
Exactly all elite bastards
Cardiff City Council
The government is not responsible for anyone's decision. Most homeless people put themselves in the position. The people need to take responsibility.
@@addictcar69 that may be true, but some bad decisions shouldn't mean you need to become homeless for the rest of your living days, and once on the streets it's near impossible to get off of them.
Everyone deserves a second chance don't they?
This is heartbreaking. Xx No one should feel alone and certainly not without a home.
I read this today on Facebook then seen this. The police are part of the problem it seems.
"Had to go into town today, decided to get chips, i got a small cone for a young, very cold looking homeless chap. As i was giving him the chips a copper came bounding over and threatened both of us with arrest! The young lad looked terrified and tried to hand me back the chips at which point the copper took them off him and started walking towards the bin. I took them back from him and asked him what the bloody hell he was playing at. He rattled off the usual bollocks they do when they feel put on the spot and threatened to arrest me (again) for a social order offence, so i told him to go ahead, he didn't. By the time this shit was over with, the homeless lad had legged it, i couldn't eat the chips. Who are theses people? 🤬"
Glyn Mills Perhaps you can make a complaint, also ask for their police number in order to do this. You can also phone the police station and ask why they would of done this.
they do this all over the UK, you must have to stand your ground with the authorities, they will class it as encouraging homelessness, not my view but what i have seen here in Norwich, i run a group that help the homeless and they would rather we werent there and have said this to one of my volunteers in the past.
As a society, we need to maintain certain fictions that we present. Why would anyone work if we didn't think it provided success? Any view of non-success, or of those who choose not to partake has to be scrubbed away.
Glyn Mills awful.
Charles Kinsley?
Extremely sad for Lindy and her man. We must help humanity. 😞 💙
@@Donnell0303 - What does it have to do with you?
At 4.49 "They had a council flat in Aberdare but abandoned it six months ago after disputes with neighbours". This really glosses over the details. What disputes? Why would you abandon the roof over your head to go and sleep rough? I really wanted to understand how they ended up homeless but I don't feel this report clarified things. Nor was it clear why Lindy & Michael didn't move in with Lindy's sister. It's a sad story but I feel none the wiser.
Thanks for shouting at me with caps. It's a C4 News item that's meant to investigate what happened. Yes I want to know what happened. If that makes me nosey, then ok but it's natural to want to know what happened and why. Please don't shout, I doubt you would do that in a real life conversation.
I agree completely. It's clear that this wasn't made to give information or understand the problem. Kinda sensationalist.
There's a reason or many reasons she chose to sleep "rough" rather than stay at their flat or go with family even though it was cold and she had a medical condition. Also, FB posted about marrying in November but no mention of an actual wedding planned when she died in November. Appears this young woman didn't have healthy support from anyone and/or she had issues that kept her from being supported by family and her fiance.
Whiite shirt
Were they targeted by neighbours.?
Perhaps they fled from feeling unsafe it must be something pretty damn serious to do that must it.
So sad ... Every town in every country has a story like this and it is soooo unnecessary
Britain seems to have more than most.
true, but I have to say I was shocked to see SO MANY homeless people in the UK when I moved there a couple of years ago. I didn’t expect that at all for some reason

This is the point we've reached. The homeless in this country freezing to death. Fucking disgrace.
A sad story.....RIP Lindy.
What happened to her?
I was overwhelmed with sadness and couldn't watch the whole video. Did it explain why she couldn't live with one of her sisters? Any explanation about why they couldn't get another apartment through the housing counsel? Too sad. She was so young. May her soul RIP.
Suzanne Olivar I have occasionally tried to help the homeless, and it can be surprisingly hard. As a medical student years ago there was a homeless woman with moderate medical problems in the Emergency Room, and when I asked if I could help her find a shelter spot, she enthusiastically said yes, as she wouldn’t stay with her daughter because she disagreed with the daughter being gay. It took about an hour of call after call to find an open bed, and when I told her she said wonderful, but she had no way to get there although it was pretty close. The hospital would give free cab vouchers when needed, so told her I would get one, and she said thanks so much. When I returned 10 minutes later, the room was empty, and staff nearby said she grabbed her bags and left. I looked for her outside, but she wasn’t there and never returned for the rest of my shift. Still not sure what happened, but I am sure there was no misunderstanding...she was very well spoken, etc.
This is Lindy’s neice and if my auntie was still alive today she would be the best of the best. We don’t listen to hater👿👿
Georgiavlogs 9 I've been homeless and addicted to drugs, it's an awful experience. I hope she's at peace. X
My condolences to you and your family. I’m a functioning heroin addict myself, I’ve never been homeless as of yet but I know I’ll end up homeless if I don’t turn my life around. I live around 10 minutes away from Caerphilly. I hope you all the best and R.I.P. Lindy I didn’t know you but wish I had

Wish her family would of insisted she go back home till she could make it on her own.
Not to detract from poor lindy, but i remember glancing at some news article that blared out
*One in four homeless people are women!* "Something must be done!"
Took me a couple of seconds to realize...men really are invisible.
If you loved Lindy that much why when you saw her sitting on the wet floor, why didn't you offer her a nice warm place to stay at your house ?
And how do you know she and her family didn't? You don't know.
@SIDDY JIDDY....EXACTLY
They had to leave there last place because of disputes with neighbours that makes me think that they are antisocial, so no I would not like them living near me
Why didn’t Thatcher Pig Torie rejects take care of these problems
Dear lindy may she be at peace
Rest in peace Lindy, just heartbreaking.
Giving that the number of people sleeping rough rises with each year, you can't help but think,... much more could have been done to tackle the homeless problem that keeps on growing all over the country.
For those saying why won’t the family help her, it can be surprisingly hard. As a medical student years ago there was a homeless woman with moderate medical problems in our Emergency Room, and when I asked if I could help her find a shelter spot, she enthusiastically said yes, as she wouldn’t stay with her daughter because she disagreed with the daughter being gay. It took about an hour of call after call (some had too many stairs, some said only one bag, etc.) to find an open bed, and when I told her she said wonderful, but she had no way to get there although it was pretty close. The hospital would give free cab vouchers when needed, so I told her I would get one, and she said thanks so much. When I returned 10 minutes later, the room was empty, and staff nearby said she grabbed her bags and left. I looked for her outside, but she wasn’t there and never returned for the rest of my shift. Still not sure what happened, but I am pretty sure it was not just a miscommunication...she was very well spoken, bright, etc.
Aw
Strange .😑
While I don't doubt that this is true, it's also very misleading as if it's always so easy for a homeless person to get help. To underline this point, you're probably remember that experience for the rest of your life and now will try less hard in the future to help them. Imagine that effect on a large scale.
@@Donnell0303 I became homeless once, because people wouldn't pay me for work I'd do, its not always drugs
Thank you for this story.
Well done Ch4 for this. Unfortunately we have a parliament and media so obsessed with Brexit that it's easy for them to ignore the estimated 100 per cent increase in rough sleepers in the last 2 years and a callous PM only focussed on her own survival.
Grey Chip It's always easy to blame every problem on those who are somehow 'other'. As though everything will be better if they were all just 'sent back'
Grey Chip couldn't of put it any better myself bud... People so need a reality check.
G Dog Gaming think you'll find that when you flood your country helping others and not even building houses for the future and your own people you'll always get this result.. When you except people into said country don't go cutting the council funding when they already can't build any more homes.
I thing i am sure about is that, i would rather eat mud than let my brother or sisters sleep rough out at park!!!!!
that sounds nice until they do drugs or sell drugs out of your house then they invite all their druggie friends over to your house n cause trouble....

@Jannah Sweetie...lol I agree with you. However I think you meant to say help them get back ONTheir feet, not OFF.
Sort of agree, but if you have had a difficult family member, be it addiction, illness or just temperament, it can be incredibly hard...they can want everything their way or claim you are unsupportive and ghost you...very little in between. There are some heartless relatives, of course, but most have tried and tried.

Is it sooo difficult for governments (who spend billions of Dollars on wars) to give these poor people just a warm place to sleep???
@California's Best Businesses
It's rather the whole satanic capitalist system.
our country is a developing country not very rich but no one is left to die or out of shelter in the streets.. how come this is happening in one of the richest country of the world?
Because too much money makes people selfish and greedy, always wanting but never giving in return.

Priority Housing hundreds of thousands of Migrants in the UK while the indigenous population lay dying on the streets is Shameful.
"Charity begins at home". First we must take care of our own. It is not right to hive the available resources to outsiders at the cost of our people's life.

So so sad to see this. An the poor man was scared to say why they were on the streets cos he didn't want to get anyone into trouble. What he means is the places that are on offer are full of drug dealers waiting to pray on the vulnerable people that live there constantly putting drugs in there face plus places like these are riddled with anti social behaviour. So its safer for people like lindy and her boyfriend to stay on the streets. This is happening all over the United Kingdom FACT

I haven't seen marches in Westminster to draw the Government's attention to this issue.
Dave Long do you expect foreigners to be chucked on the streets. Are you only bothered by deaths through homelessness when it only affects those born here? Hardcore nationalists like you make me sick we’re all humans, it shouldn’t matter if someone’s a briton or a foreigner
Instead of complaining about it why don't you do something about it. You have two legs, two arms and are able bodied I can't see why you can't start a movement, Mr Keyboard Warrior.
It is slightly presumptuous to assume that every keyboard warrior is able-bodied.
no marches but plenty of sleep-ins [in shop doorways ]

I'm just curious whether they consider homelessness as an adventure at first without giving any thought about it. Things seem easier when you're young but later you just can't end this adventure when you realize you're an homeless now. If the weather is dead cold and I'm homeless, I would find a warm place to spend unbearably cold hours. What exactly prevents homeless people to act in this way. Survival instinct is the most powerful chemical reaction in human brain. I believe what leaves you homeless must be coming from some kind of mental illness that affects basic brain functions. You can't even believe how many homeless dies from reasons they can easily manage to get away. It hurts me. That's why I'm giving so many thoughts about homelessness.
Why didn’t her family help her?
The person concerned did take name and number and I'm told taking it further. We can't just take it laying down .if we do then welcome to 1984

Shame on this very rich country and the people that so called run it
Shame on anyone for judging or looking down on another human being, for any reason. Remember, not one of these people, want to be in this situation. We don't know their story. But I do know when you feel so low about yourself, it is hard to reach for better life when you dread even waking another day. We need better mental health provisions. We need long term care for addicts... I say cut all these useless politicians salaries in half, and that alone could help thousands. Spent wisely and keep Government out of it, and it could work.
I agree because I hate waking up.
