      Hope I'll go far and make it entertaining along the way :D

    • @CoredumpedGaming

      WoTR is an excellent game. It has many quality of life features that would be quite welcomed in kingmaker. It also reaches a much more epic level in terms of character builds with the mythic paths which is very cool.
      On the other hand I tend to prefer the story and companions in kingmaker. WoTR is also *very* heavy on demons.

      Mr. Roguenbauld :D How have you been? I've missed your LA runs on kingmaker and WotR :(
      I actually spent some time watching your twitch VODs of WotR in Last Azlanti when I had my surgery and had to stay in bed for a few days, but those ran out quickly. I know you're currently doing Rogue Trader, so sadly I can't participate in the streams as I'm also playing it and don't want to get spoiled :p
      All the best and pray for me! I'm already sweating about those mandragoras if I reach that point xD

    I personally find that Kingmaker generally forces you to get 3 skills on the main PC. Trickery, Persuasion and Perception.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  7 місяців тому +2

      I feel like the only one that is really benefitial is persuasion, at least on my typical playthroughs. Thievery is a really good one to have if you want to maximize the exp your main char gets as disarming traps gives a nice chunk of experience.
      Since I normally don't abuse that I just have a companion take care of that, for which there are multiple good choices like octavia, jubi or noknok.
      Edit - perception is also a really nice one to have but I typically also delegate that to someone else

    • @ballinstalin2225
      @ballinstalin2225 7 місяців тому

      It is more so for the items that can only be found in settlements that I take Perception and trickery on the PC. For example the hidden gems and minor magic items in the first capital map are good but so is the hand item that saves you 25% of all scrolls.

    Oh its awesome that you finally got to play this one)) i love your playtrhroughs and guides so much. i have been watching your content almost religiously recently. your piller of eternity videos inspired me to get back into crpgs, and learn things about crpgs hidden mechenics, that i never knew existed. well mostly because i probably never bother looking , or had the capacity to understand the basic d20 mechanics. also flat foot is quite important too i think for assasins.

      As for flat footed you are totally right, I forgot to mention that. Attacking a character that is flat footed (or flanked for example) will count as a sneak attack.

      Thank you :) Definitely pros and cons for real time vs turn based, the eternal debate eheh I just want to mention that what I'm doing in this playthrough would also apply to turn based, in fact, it would likely be simpler in turn based as you do have more control over your actions and generally what is going on in the battlefield.

    HI Coredumped. I have played this game and I liked it (not the kingdom management mechanic though). However no matter what I did I could not finish this game due to so many bugs. Same thing with Wrath of the Righteous did not finish it for the same reason. I will never touch an owlcats game again but I am glad to see you are playing this game.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  7 місяців тому

      These games do tend to have a few bugs here and there (I'm trying out Rogue Trader as we speak and... it's not a pretty release let's just leave it at that).
      But for the most part, at least in my experience, I've never had many issues with bugs in my playthroughs. Though I did hear a lot of complaints about bugs from numerous other players.

    • @wennetthadley2304
      @wennetthadley2304 7 місяців тому

      @@CoredumpedGaming I am going to watch your playthrough of Rogue Trader since you mentioned it :) When I played the other owlcat games I did not expect a bug free game (I knew about the bugs) but I at least expected a better experience than what i got.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  7 місяців тому

      Yeah, so far I've seen some annoyances and visual glitches which is a bit sad, but nothing gamebreaking.
      The biggest problem for me to be honest is that given that bugs are expected on theses releases, at times I don't know if certain abilities are bugged or if I'm doing something wrong lol It's going to be a wild ride :p

    Ah finally a series i can watch again, after i didn't want to get spoiled for bg3 :D. I wonder, do you feel like kingmaker has a class that feels lore accurate? for some reason i always felt like, a feyspeaker druid or slvan sorceror seemed to fit the story the most.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  7 місяців тому

      Enjoy my friend :D As for lore accurate, hadn't really thought about that very much but I get what you mean by the Feyspeaker and sylvan sorcerer. My first thought was actually a Barbarian given their presence throughout the game. But I think most everything works quite well. You are just someone that lives in that world, connections to the first world and stuff are not really necessary in my opinion.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  7 місяців тому +1

      Ahah sorry :p
      Well, the reason is actually quite simple. I've been planning and preparing for doing a pathfinder playthrough for the channel. And then, I found out that rogue trader is coming out :p
      Since I had already commited to doing pathfinder I didn't want to delay that, but at the same time I'm also really excited for rogue trader eheh
      But worry not, today you will have the regular pathfinder episode and an additional pathfinder content video ~1 hour later!

  • @raevenblacke
    @raevenblacke 7 місяців тому +1

    I'm sorry if you already answered this in your video (I might have missed it), but, out of curiosity, why real-time with pause instead of turn-based? Are you planning on changing that when you up the difficulty?

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  7 місяців тому +2

      No real reason other than personal preference. There may be times where I feel I may need some control over the fight and in those circumstances I may swap to turn based. Or also if I want to show something in a fight with some more detail. But for the most part I enjoy the flow of rtwp more, I find it more explosive and fun.

    What did I say some way back? You play all my favorite games. I like this one significantly better than its successor, mostly because of the main story and the characters, which did not appeal to me in WOTR. Also I know its story and maps inside and out, but I've never attempted Last Azlanti. I guess you know what you're doing, but the last chapter on Unfair *and* Last Azlanti seems....extremely unpleasant.
    BTW, I'll have to disagree with you about difficulty yet again. Unless you're a general expert at this kind of game, playing the first chapter or two with "Challenging" is an absolute no-go if you don't know the system already, and learning it is *very* much harder than learning BG3. Personally I think the system's complexity is a bit much. I'm curious to see how you will develop your party. This will probably be another long series, LOL. And I also like Amiri.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  7 місяців тому

      I also think that Kingmaker is superior in terms of the story and the characters. WoTR for me has some really nice quality of life features that kingmaker doesn't and goes into other categories of character building with the Mythic stuff which can be quite fun.
      I have completed Last Azlanti before so I feel at least somewhat confident that I can get through this (if not we shall all mourn the loss of our character lol), but I will be changing to Unfair earlier than I did on my test run, hopefully it goes well.
      As for the difficulty, well, just like in BG3, maybe I'm biased given the amount of time I've dedicated to this game. I don't exactly remember too well, but I believe that when I first played the game, after bleeding from the eyes due to trying Unfair and Hard (lol) I changed to challenging and went with it somewhat ok, although of course suffering through the nasty stuff the game throws at you such as poison effects, swarms, curses, etc. (hence why I also mentioned that for Challenging you need to have some tolerance to frustration and trial/error).
      Pray for me friend!
