      Nice! It was actually one of my favourite places to go for a ride as I really love that it's so green and cozy. Well, there are several forested and very pleasant places in Portugal, but they are usually in more remote locations. I actually lived most of my life near Sintra ~20km
      Was also funny to see Sintra used as a location in a movie that I enjoyed quite a bit - The Ninth Gate (I like esoteric mystery movies :D)

    I'm glad to see someone who love leopard over smilodon. They miss like 90% of time i never understood the purpose of it... plus leopard insane dex make them go first (if you are turn base) and they dont fall easily if they run into grace.

      My preference for the leopard really stems from the fact that they are so incredibly tanky even quite early on in the game.

    So you're going for that one ending which requires doing a lot of stuff in very specific ways. I did that once, but the number of hoops through which you must jump is quite constraining. For once, I like Amiri much more than Tristan and tend to prioritize her quests. In fact, I don't like Tristan much at all and having him in the party in a certain chapter 4-quest sucks. Also, I like the Tiefling twins too much, both of them. More to the point, though, that branch of the story was not satisfying, because (spoilers follow in case anyone here hasn't played the game)...
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    I might be willing to forgive Nyrissa for her actions against our kingdom, but to romance a person who treats you with condescension for 90% of the story after her betrayal? Feels to me like, regardless of alignment, you have to turn into a doormat to get that outcome. Never felt right to me, so the so-called "true ending" isn't that for me, in spite of the requirements having been loosened a bit since I played it.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  9 місяців тому +2

      To be quite honest, I don't even know the exact steps to get the true ending from memory, I will have to check them as I go, but I believe that at least from my previous test run, it wasn't that convoluted to obtain. As a comparison, I never bothered and I believe I never will either with getting the true ending in WotR, as from what I read that is just way wayyyy too silly and complicated to accomplish. I don't even know how anyone managed to figure that out in the first place (I would even call this bad game design to be honest). Like the slab puzzles... oh god those puzzles.
      I shall use your spoiler tag strategy as well for the following :p
      .
      .
      .
      .
      .
      If I remember this right, as long as you forgive her and don't do something specific with the crown you pickup in the castle of knives, you're good to go for the true ending. Now, if it makes sense? In my opinion, not really. My instinct is and will always be to murder that good-for-nothing nymph and be done with it. And it would also be my go to suggestion for anyone wanting to beat the game in Last Azlanti for the achievement as the game ends with her death and you don't have to bother with more deadly fights after that. I would, however, like to be able to also deal with the "true ending bad guy" if I chose to kill Nyrissa. Since that's not possible, I bite the bullet on the "if it makes sense thing" and just go for the extra content.

    26:38: coup de grace isn't instant kill its auto crit. So you need to take into account damage and crit multiplier.
    I have sleep on my MC in my quest. Coup-de-grace with a Scythe is broken since it deal x4 damage. But i like to play turn base (since i played Pen and paper before) so i use a lot a micro management and a lot of CC spells. I know sleep will fall off later since it cannot affect creature above 4 hd, but the DD on my main was too tempting to not do it (19 cha + 1 on enchantment DD from my race).
    If you really want to be munchkin you can also give a scythe to Amari as a secondary weapon, you swap weapon in fight and crit x4 with rage and power attack on, but that take 2 turns so its only valid for big guys you are afraid to wake up.
    Also, when they wake up they will need to get up, so if you position your party properly you will have attack of opportunity (if coup-de-grace was not enough). So yeah basically its a death sentence. But this game is kinda brutal at unfair and i think its even worst if you lay turn base... I have 2 hero dedicated to only do grace turn after turn ahah (MC and Jaethel, she is multi class sorcerer for the charism hack that will give me constitution as well). I'm heading toward eldrich knight with her.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  2 дні тому +1

      Coup de grace *is* an instant kill effect:
      As a full-round action, you can use a melee weapon to deliver a coup de grace to a helpless opponent.
      You automatically hit and score a critical hit. If the defender survives the damage, he must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + damage dealt (which is calculated as: attacker's base attack + melee damage attribute modifier + weapon's critical modifier)) or die.
      It will always hit and always crit regardless of anything else, but if the enemy survives the damage and fails the save, they insta die. This is why you can also use coup de grace to get around enemies with regeneration if you don't have the other necessary tools to remove it.

    So I am thinking when it comes to the companions that you don't have are you planning on using Reg or will you just build him to be a General advisor. For Harrim are you making him a bad batter priest or a blaster. For Jethal honestly I dont have a build that works great on her for the mid game. Octivia seems redundant with your PC but at the same time you can never have enough blasters. Tristan always just feels like a bag of heals and sadness. The other two I will leave as a surprise and ask question when they are more relivent.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  9 місяців тому

      Ahahah I have to say that, first of all, I agree with your assessments for a lot of the companions you mentioned, but I especially like the "bag of heals and sadness" XD
      As for the Harrim/Tristian question, you will have your answer in the next episode so I won't spoil it here. I am planning on using Regongar as a frontliner damage/tank, he will likely stay with us the whole time. Octavia is indeed redundant with my PC, she will stay for a while until we pickup another friend that will take her spot forever. If I did want to take Octavia in the long term, I would either 1. choose a different PC or 2. ignore her rogue level and build her more as a control caster. One can never undervalue the relevance of early game stinking clouds. So she will stick around for a bit, I'll level her up as the game "planned" her, which also has some value for viewers that may want to build her as such and then she goes her merry way to become a full time advisor.

      Looking back at my past saves you can do some broken shit with the fact that jeathal will res after battle. But I think the play is you ignore her first level because lets face it she took honestly the best 2 inquisitor spells for her and build her as a two handed scythe crit build with cleave and the shaken on kill feat.@@CoredumpedGaming

      Oh, I am well aware of it lol Pretty much the best way to cheese Unfair is to have your main character completely out of combat range, send Jaethal into the enemies and go to eat lunch. Eventually she will have killed them. But even though I know of it, that's the type of thing that I would never do myself. I can tolerate some cheesy tactics for certain things, but stuff like that is way too much :p That and the necklace that has a damage aura that cannot be resisted and does not put enemies in combat, which can basically solo the game for you (I forget the name at the moment).

    What i dislike about the pathfinder ruleset (same as with eht old DnD ruleset), actual fighters or heavy army classes are not the best frontliners. the best frontliners are always those where you mix arcane casting into the mix. personally, i dont like that. a knight in the heavierst of armor should be the best frontliner. I think pillars of eternity did that much better by having damage reduction being tied to armor.

    • @jareddaniel3009
      @jareddaniel3009 10 місяців тому

      Yeah best tank is someone not wearing armor at all lol. Using some form of monk multiclass

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  10 місяців тому +3

      I have to agree with this. The so called pajama tanks are the real best tanks, normally with a dip into monk for either wis or cha AC stacking.
      If I go for a tank on higher difficulties I also go for this as nothing else really beats it. And also having access to arcane magic on top of that for stuff like mirror image is priceless if you want to survive a cyclops crit for example.
      I would much prefer if an armoured character would at least be able to obtain more AC and damage reduction that these kinds of classes. I believe itemization also plays a big role in this. When you have bracers that give you +8 armour, robes that give dodge bonuses and belts and helmets that increase stats to crazy amounts it's hard to beat.
      I don't mind that characters with access to arcane magic can become very powerful defensive characters, but that should come in a different way.
      At this point I'm kind of numb to that however and just have fun trying to stack numbers in any way I can :p
      But especially for newer players it can feel very odd.

    • @ballinstalin2225
      @ballinstalin2225 10 місяців тому

      I find that Valeria even as a "pure" tank can get enough AC that most attacks don't faze her but the middle of chapter 2, now in a perfect world she wouldn't have had insane con but with the right buffs and scolls of mirror image she is more then fine on any difficulty but unfair.@@CoredumpedGaming

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  9 місяців тому

      She does a decent job at it, and I will use her in this playthrough as a frontliner. But I would not feel confident in taking her into higher difficulties without giving her the ability to cast arcane spells. Mirror image is a *huge* spell for anyone that wants to tank. What I mention in the comment above is that while she's decent, she can't really compete with what you can get from the "monk dipped pajama tanks".
