Damn, Jackie Chan looks fucking SERIOUS in the middle of every jump. Even the smallest hop is treated like a death defying leap haha.

I played this game all the way through about 50 times as a kid. Gorgeous sprites and 10/10 Hudson-level soundtrack.
I played this game a lot as a kid on my Famiclone back in the 90's. Still one of my favourite NES games :) Nice graphics, responsive controls and superb music.

Super Game Mega luckily i got for $5 bucks on Pawn Shop over by Ludington and every Nes game to this day is $5 Bucks. no joke.

Wow, this actually looks like a TurboGrafx-16 games moreso than an NES one. Very impressive Hudson Soft.
Its a port of a TG16 game.
Ah, well still, I'm impressed it managed to retain such graphics.
You can tell they're best friends by how they can relay a conversation piece by piece by only using sound effects.
This was one of my VERY favorite games when I was a kid!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It is really good and will always hold a special place in my heart and memory.
For anyone interested there is a Mario bootleg/hack of this game called Kung Fu Mari - also known as Super Mario bros 10

The idea that James can't do a avgn episode because it's a good game seems constrictive to creative possibilities.
Sure it's great watching avgn play and review bad games but i think doing episodes with good ones also can be just as fun to watch.
One of the best games of my childhood. I've finished it recently because of a nostalgia attack.
This game is one of my favorites. Although it gets pretty challenging at the end I didn't find it that hard in general.
Played this game like 80 times. Soundtrack is incredible, really memorable

One of my favorite NES games of all time. It's actually not too hard once you know what you're doing up until probably the two final boss fights.

It's not exactly a port. Both versions were developed simultaneously.
You two should try out the GI Joe game on NES. It's actually pretty good (its sequel Atlantis factor, not as much)
I know this is late, but I had played this as a kid & loved it. But later in life forgot the title. I found it decades later and still love this game.

+Troyus That's the cons of LP - while their reaction are true and genuine, sometimes they make the game look way stupid. And sometimes a game could be judged unfair this way just because someone won't try to read the manual or at least a basic guide online somewhere.

i used to beat this game EVERY DAY as a kid in elementary school. i would even impose self-challenges like beat the game using only a specific special attack. LOVED this game. and btw, this game uses the konami code. it's in the manual. up up down down up down left right b a then b on the 2nd controller. do it once for 99 lives and again for stage select.

Man, all of this game have been bought off on eBay. This is one of 54 NES games I have left to collect. Didn't even know about it. You guys sure have a huge influence on the gaming market lol.

God the number of times I've beaten this game...I've been playing this one since I was 10 and its still one of my favorite side scrollers.

Very disappointing vid, considering this is one of the best games on the system. Why did you seem to want it to be bad? It's not as hard as Contra on the nes, or even Mario or Batman. It can be finished with a few sessions practice, it's incredibly imaginative, the bonus games are great and the music is exceptionally good. The turbo grax 16 version has more content but this is an excellent port; looking more like snes than nes. Play it again guys. Give it the attention it deserves.

This game is like the movie where Jackie Chan fights two of every animal. Adapted from a good book, i think.
I remember playing this in primary school, top game, big sprites and colourful.
I'm surprised you guys don't remember. There was a commercial for this game. It was like a combo commercial advertising a few of Hudson's games but I remember my brother and I LOSING OUR EVERLOVING MINDS over this game. We never go to play it, and we didn't know who Jacki Chan was, the the graphics in the game looked MIND BLOWING. It's hard to envision it, today, but back then having a character who's face you could see and who made expressions was like something from another world. There wasn't anything like it on the NES.

On the bottom right hand side of the screen those 5 balls, beside your orb count are actually shots. I think you press up and b or something and Jackie shoots these triangle shape thing. When you run outta shots the orbs you collect replenish your shot. Can't remember how much you have to collect to gain one shot back.

Oh man, this game. I used to play the hell out of this back in the day. Absolutely loved it. I remember having lots of trouble with the final boss as a kid, which got me super upset. I eventually got the brilliant idea to drink chocolate milk, thinking this would give me super powers. I immediately beat the boss afterwards. That's probably one of the few times kid logic somehow worked in my favor.

I always just read it in the same way you'd read "Action Kung Fu: by Jackie Chan!"
When I was 9, I saw the name of this game printed in a Nintendo Power and misread it as "Jackie O Han." I was later surprised to find out he wasn't Irish. :)

I remember renting this as a kid-my friend and I beat it; I recall it being a lot of fun. This is long before Jackie got big over here-only due to a Nintendo Power article did I even know who he was. Eventually Rumble in the Bronx came out and I remembered him being the guy from the video game.
