Glad you enjoyed the video. This is just a one time thing as I’m mostly focused on streaming. We shot a contra video several months ago as well. I’m sure we’ll shoot something again just not on any type of schedule.
As much as viewers might dislike this, it's the right call. I don't care if it's your wife or your best friend. It gets old being around the same person all the time and gets to be too much like a business. You can tell they genuinely had fun because it was like a nostalgic get together on their own time. It's great to have the freedom to do your own thing.
Forgot how much I miss these friends chemistry. So much better than being talked over nonstop on the podcast, hearing incoherent ramblings and pointless stories from everyone but James.

I know you guys getting back together "regularly" is a pipe dream, and asking for it is silly. But man, seeing you guys back on the couch just playing a game like this is amazing. It doesn't feel produced or forced in the slightest. It's got the 2 close childhood friends, just sitting around playing a game, vibe to it. Or like late night college dorm room gaming session... It's one of the most real things on UA-cam, especially in the video game genre. Where others try to force nostalgia, these two just shooting the shit playing a game, is pure nostalgia. +10 for not having to see, or hear that Silverman dude at any point in this. Probably why it's on Mike's channel and not Cinemassacre, as He'd have insisted on being involved... Probably sitting between the two, talking about stuff nobody wants to hear, and just in general interrupting good conversations. Derailing them every time any kind of momentum or humor was starting to build up. Alright, I'll just leave that where it's at.. Negative shit is no bueno.. But thanks again for getting the old duo back together. It's like seeing Jake and Elwood back in the bluesmobile one more time. I was a freshman in college when I first watched you guys.. And now I'm... Old. Lol, and the whole world has gone crazy. So it's great to have something that reminds me of much better days back on the old screen.
THIS is the type of wholesome, awesome content that has been missing from the cinnemassacre channel. The channel needs you, Mike! I think the fan base always had love for you, but when you left, it became extremely evident how much of an impact you have on the content. Your absence really put things into perspective, for me at least, and I’m sure many others can echo this sentiment. I hope you and James keep in touch more often and we see a comeback from the greatest duo on earth 😆 do what makes you happy though Mike. That’s what matters most.

None of us truly know the behind the scenes stuff either, like the financial side, or the differences they may have had when it comes to the direction they may have wanted the content to go in. There are probably personal reasons why Mike took a hiatus from things, and that’s why I was sure to add my last statements about putting his happiness first. I hope he goes back because as you said, he is the mastermind behind a huge portion of all the classic AVGN videos. Those who criticized Mike are probably the same ones now leaving comments about how James lost touch, and how much they hate Justin lol .. I laugh, but people take it too far with their comments..I’ve seen people say some REALLY fu€ked up sh!t about Justin. My brother and I spent many many many hours playing ToeJam and Earl... we always liked working together and though it was sooo cool when we found the secret level (Level 0) with hot tubs and hula girls 🤣 So many good memories. I been a constant viewer of cinemassacre since 2009. When the original J&M Monday 'Toe Jam and Earl' episode came out about 4 years later, it instantly became my favourite video on the whole channel. The fact it was 45 minutes long made it feel like christmas to me, time to give the game real focus, time for shit talk, conversations that branches off in random directions mingled in with team work about the current game ("you take that pizza! you need it more! get in the elevator! oh shit the bee's!") I was alone, but yeah it did make me feel like I was hanging out with a friend in my youth again playing co-op. I liked that in general about the show too, some obscure or forgotten games from yesteryear getting a moment in the spotlight decades later, and not some playthrough or speed run, not some quick 5 minute review, Like 2 people chatting throughout the game, a decent 40+ minute video for it Anyway I was really happy to see you go back to this particular game as it was my favourite J&M Monday episode, and when I saw it was double the length of the last one I was thrilled to bits! 😁

Last weekend, I reunited with my cousin to get him into playing D&D with our group, I helped my friend move into his new apartment, AND I was able to clean up a lot of my house. I know its not much by most peoples' standards, but seeing you and James together for this video, however brief it is, validates all my work with a reward, bud. Thanks Mike.
Like you guys, I was born in 1980 and I grew up watching Scooby-Doo which was a decade before my time and the Super Friends and a bunch of other early 80s shows. I still remember Voltron, and Transformers. Though, I never really liked live shows or movies before my time, they always felt old as a kid. Which made me wonder if children today feel the same way about movies form my youth like all time Masterpieces like Ghostbusters and etc, like I did with movies before my time. Sadly, my theory has been semi correct. While hanging out with a close friend, their daughter (8-9) was browsing through Disney+ and found the original Lion King. She immediately exclaimed "There's a lion king cartoon!!?!?" Then when we told her it was the original, and tried to get her to watch it... she replied that she wasn't interested because it looked old. Which made me joke that my friends are bad parents.
This made my fucking week! Made me so hyped to see u guys back together even if its just a one off type thing. Please consider bringing back James and Mike Mondays
This is nice and props to Mike for not namedropping James in the title for clicks. It is still a shame to me the J&M Mondays ended. They didn't have to do it every week, once every couple of months would have been great but you could see how utterly bored, checked out and arrogant James had become by the end - resented doing even the slightest amount of work if it meant taking him away from his lounging around at home doing nothing. Mike never stopped putting in the effort and still does so to this day.

This was a real nice surprise! I have always loved this game. My brother and I spent many many many hours playing ToeJam and Earl... we always liked working together and though it was sooo cool when we found the secret level (Level 0) with hot tubs and hula girls 🤣 So many good memories.

Ive missed this shit so much. Guys I know youre both busy and have your own stuff to do but I hope you do more of these in the future. Its always cool to hear you both shoot the shit and discuss stuff. Alot of us dont get to do this with our friends or siblings the same way anymore so this brings us back.

I love watching James and Mike just chilling and playing games. You both should do it more often. You guys made my day. This video made me play Toe Jam and Earl for the first time and other genesis games, thanks to the sega collection. I have been watching you both since early youtube.
I been a constant viewer of cinemassacre since 2009. When the original J&M Monday 'Toe Jam and Earl' episode came out about 4 years later, it instantly became my favourite video on the whole channel. The fact it was 45 minutes long made it feel like christmas to me, time to give the game real focus, time for shit talk, conversations that branches off in random directions mingled in with team work about the current game ("you take that pizza! you need it more! get in the elevator! oh shit the bee's!") I was alone, but yeah it did make me feel like I was hanging out with a friend in my youth again playing co-op. I liked that in general about the show too, some obscure or forgotten games from yesteryear getting a moment in the spotlight decades later, and not some playthrough or speed run, not some quick 5 minute review, Like 2 people chatting throughout the game, a decent 40+ minute video for it
Anyway I was really happy to see you go back to this particular game as it was my favourite J&M Monday episode, and when I saw it was double the length of the last one I was thrilled to bits! 😁

Like you guys, I was born in 1980 and I grew up watching Scooby-Doo which was a decade before my time and the Super Friends and a bunch of other early 80s shows. I still remember Voltron, and Transformers.
Though, I never really liked live shows or movies before my time, they always felt old as a kid. Which made me wonder if children today feel the same way about movies form my youth like all time Masterpieces like Ghostbusters and etc, like I did with movies before my time.
Sadly, my theory has been semi correct. While hanging out with a close friend, their daughter (8-9) was browsing through Disney+ and found the original Lion King. She immediately exclaimed "There's a lion king cartoon!!?!?" Then when we told her it was the original, and tried to get her to watch it... she replied that she wasn't interested because it looked old.
Which made me joke that my friends are bad parents.
This made my fucking week! Made me so hyped to see u guys back together even if its just a one off type thing. Please consider bringing back James and Mike Mondays
This is nice and props to Mike for not namedropping James in the title for clicks. It is still a shame to me the J&M Mondays ended. They didn't have to do it every week, once every couple of months would have been great but you could see how utterly bored, checked out and arrogant James had become by the end - resented doing even the slightest amount of work if it meant taking him away from his lounging around at home doing nothing. Mike never stopped putting in the effort and still does so to this day.
