I went to school with Courtney and hung around some of the same people she had. This case was crazy I tell you real crazy. I'm glad the family finally got justice R.I.P Courtney coco may God rest your soul. And what this show isn't telling people is that the Alexandria pd done a horrible job investigating this case and if it wasn't for Woody overton they wouldn't have and the push from courtney family
The sad thing about this case is yes they got Anthony in prison for life but someone else got nothing. I lived next door to Lace and Anthony on Gene Ball Drive. We were very close and so was the Ex con that I was involved with While I lived there.. When he and I 1st got together I had no idea that he had a record I didn't know he'd been in prison... found out after he had developed a relationship. He And Anthony & friends...just as I was of Both Lace & Anthony. While We were living next Doone of his friends that was in the halfway house with him was arrested and made the news for being a person that was breaking into females rooms and Performing oral sex on them and leaving. He got caught and hes back in jail I don't know how much jail time he got for breaking Probation for doing this bizarre Freak show Crime.
So the original detective was right! He gave the sister a polygraph and she failed it! Turns out her ex did it! I’m not saying she knew, but there was definitely some red flags! The detective said I think she knows something! And then they took the original detective off the case! Smh
I just listened to the podcast. IMO, the "killer" , Anthony Burns, and the sister Lace were there when Courtney accidentally OD'd. They freaked out when she died, and ditched her where she died. Lace is telling the truth when she said she didn't kill her. But she certainly was involved.
To the family, I am glad (under my circumstances) that you finally got the justice that Courtney deserved. Love & prayers to you. From another native Louisianan.
Why did that sister withhold so much information for 16 years? They could have had this case solved years ago if she had mentioned the promise ring/possible affair and that her boyfriend was MIA the weekend of the murder... but silence for almost two decades?
@@ghostchick5275 Gee, I just watched the episode & it never occurred to me what the sister had withheld for all that time. Thank you Ask Why. Yes, many secrets. It was really gross when he related his alibi (to investigators) claiming he & Lace were scr*wing all day long. When you're relating what you were doing at the time of your fiancee's sister's murder, try not to come across as if you're talking w/your beer buddies over your epic adventures in the sack. I suspected him early on, trying too hard to be present w/the family. I get being a pallbearer but that humungous cross in her memory seemed like overkill & then when Lace referred to him as her "ex fiance", that kind of sealed the deal for me. Why didn't investigators take a closer look at him from the beginning? Don't they usually start from the closest and work their way out? Btw, if you can access the site "Dateline" uploads newer (quality) "provider" accessible & free episodes regularly @ "Dateline NBC". I just saw this episode (free). They usually air the episodes for free before they go into the "provider" accessible only menu. 🌺

Nah the Sister doesn’t sit right with me. She waited till her ex fiancé was a main suspect to some pretty important info. Who knows she probably was in on it too.
There's hope here's the answer. God so loved the world He gave His son Jesus that whoever believes will have everlasting life. John 3:16 Jesus died for you believe & repent.

The original Sargeant was absolutely right about her. She did know more than she told the police. She kept so many secrets.

A case where true crime podcasts actually might help solve instead of just reporting. Excellent! Waiting for sure. Friday night!

Also, Woody has to be one of the most self-aggrandizing podcasters I have ever seen. And that is saying a lot.
That family wanted to lock up a black man so bad lol... all that egg on their face.
Look at you people, always pulling the race card whenever you can. Tell me, why is 13 responsible for 60% of the nations homicides?
🥚 🍳😊
I came here from the podcast and was looking to see if any other people of color got racist vibes cause I was like ehhh🤔
@@whatshotvlog girl they just knew it was a black man smh
Not only that but you see how fast they got that black man taken off the case?!

Amen!
Praise Jesus and hail Satan!
This girl grew up too damn fast but the cops screwed this case up.. The black guy go figure
What does his race have to do with anything? Just like the white detectives don't care about missing and murdered black women. Guess we are even.
What about the black guy?
What did the black guy do? He know that the sister knew more than what she was telling him....... and he was right
