I picked up that exact MKM pocket Tango when they first came out. It is my first fixed blade pocket knife and it hasn’t left my pocket since I bought it. Couldn’t be happier with it.
Wish it had more flat on the blade, the way it's designed really only works for cutting on a board, so great for food prep, less great for cardboard and rope. If only Spyderco would make a fixed blade PM2 I'd buy 5 of those and never buy another knife in my life.
Just wish there was more 14C28N sandvik steel available... It's hands down my favorite steel... Anyways, thanks for the video and your time as always 😎✌️
Yeah I rotate between the Izula in S35v and the CR 2.5 great pocket carry knives. I just loop paracord through the bottom of the sheaths and hang them upside down in my pocket.
Love the cold steel safe maker. I keep it in my edc rotation. Obviously, this dagger is intended for self defense purposes. I have the 4.5 inch blade. Highly recommend
Made a big mistake not including the Artisan Cutlery Sea Snake. For 40 bucks the length weight and sheath are one of the most pocket friendly on the market. I tried several of these and ended up with the sea snake. Highly recommend!!
My EDC fixed-blade is a 1950s-era Imperial Prov RI hunting knife with a bakelite handle and the original leather sheathe. You have to keep it stupidly clean because of the steel composition, but it's a great knife all around. A bit bigger than some areas may allow at almost 9 inches. 😅 I put my belt through the sheathe slot and then let the sheathe sit in my pocket.
A real budget option would be the Schrade Delta Class Adder with a 2.75" AUS10 blade and injection molded sheath. Don't know what that sheath looks like. I sometimes carry its predecessor, the Schrade SCHF66 that has 7Cro17MOV steel and a nylon sheath. The old nylon sheath has a belt loop but I always just put the whole thing in a pocket, not suitable for jeans but looser cargo pants with multiple pocket options, which is what I usually wear these days, makes it easy to carry in a pocket.
Korvid S really grew on me...came scary sharp out the box. I got the copper mesh fiber scales, S35vn steel blade...this specimen is the one that showed me the potential of S35 as a blade steel.
I purchased the Muk and Cleaver versions of the Pocket Tango and they are as good as it gets! I wear mine inside my waistband and they ride weightless and invisible, even in PJ shorts! Fantastic work!
I'll be ordering the Terzoul fixed in CF in 12/2024 I purchased Handy 2 in Green Micarta in 09/2024 and I am EDC as always great reviews and great tutorial
Thanks to you, Mr Anderson, I’ve been hooked on fixed blades. I need to snag some more aftermarket sheaths… but I have thrown my LT Wright Frontier trapper in my pocket, I’ve carried my WRKT Backpacker in my pocket and my WRKT Aways There Knife with an ulticlip. I really want something t more slicey than these. WRKT make some knives for Argali I want to try… but that Boker and MKM are super enticing.
I swear I'm not a paid shill, but the Pocket Tango is an excellent, classy design. I have the nessmuk version in olive wood and I love it. I also pocket carry an ESEE Izula 2 and a Boker BFF Packlite, both just dropped right into the pocket without a clip and they do fine. They're the perfect size for it: I can just get a 4 finger grip on both with average-sized hands. I'm glad to see so many good options for this style of knife, it's really an underrated style.
@knifecenter another confirmation on how good it is! Also, I love your MKM collab and hope to get my hands on one, straight out of Italy 😅 Greetings from Austria
While it does not come come with a sheath for your pocket you can get them easy enough and the Falkniven WM-1 is the best I could think of and what I carry in my pocket.
The MKM Mikro was a great little pocket fixed blade until I lost it. Might have to get a Makro or Pocket Tango. MKM's magnetic retention leather sheath is classy.
I love the pocket fixed blade movement, buuuuuuuuuuuut, how is a folder less dependable? In the last 15 years, cutting root balls, scraping gaskets, trimming drip line, and skinning squirrels, I've never had an issue opening my "flippers". Yes, they've been crunchy but never failed to open or lock, and after cleaning, always run smoother. Can we just say fixed blades are another option for those that have extra pocket space, or those big enough that can carry a fixed comfortably while driving/bending?
I got a D2 knife like the bastinelli with a kydex sheath which is pretty nice. Bought my own ulti clip. Was like 26-28 all said and done. I know knives are pricey. I have a few. Just happy I guess for not paying a lot for something I hopefully won’t have to use.
I generally wear Wrangler cargo type work pants or wrangler blue jeans. I put an Ulti clip on my Cold steel AK-47 FIELD KNIFE an front pocket carry it regularly with no problems. occasionally I even carry a 7 1/2 inch Warcraft Tanto this way. of course I live in Texas so legality is not an issue.
You have some great choices there, but you missed out on the three I think are among the best (and currently make up my fixed blade EDC rotation.) 1) Esee Izula in S35VN with the extended G10 grips. 2) Esee Sencillo in MagnaCut. 3) (and the best choice for me) Esee Pacaya, CPM-3V Olive color in an Armatus taco holster. I think my Christmas present to myself will be a TJ Schwartz Confidante, Overland, Overland Sport, or maybe all three.
DCA, timely review, thanks. One minor complaint from the husband of a video set designer: black blades and black grips disappear when held in front of a black polo shirt. 😄
How come you left out the Viper Handy? That is my pocket fixed blade of choice right now and it work beautifully. I have one with the kydex sheath. After removing the straps on the sheath, it slipped into my pocket easily.
I’ve been toying with the idea of switching to a pocket fixed blade, but I wasn’t sure if I’d like carrying a fixed blade. So, I purchased a few inexpensive options to test. I bought the Joker Erizo, which is a really nice knife but too big. I got a Kizer Bowtie, and the Civivi Baby Banter, which I think I like the most.
I've only really owned fixed blade kitchen, skinning and fillet knives. I like the idea of a fixed blade, but not really sure what I would prefer. I'm used to carrying a Case mini stockman.
Nice selection! I do own five of the models on the table 😂 Pocket Tango is already on my list, but a couple of those more premium options are new to me. ❤️Bastinelli. I also have a La Sanction Akeron collab that would fit in this category.
Best trick for removing tape goo from knife blade... Cape cod clothes. Breaks down the glue and polishes the knife at the same time. A small cloth with a lubricant such as tri-flow or remoil works too but doesn't smell as nice as cape cod clothes.
You mention the Makro, but not the Mikro. Definitely a more "friendly" size and worth mentioning. The Buck paklite series is also noteworthy. Super slim and heck of a lot of grip area (too much for me, honestly). Lastly, not particularly relevant to the video since it is not out yet, but I am definitely looking forward to my Lander 4s.
Like how those mini $20 tool boxes are popular right now(HF/Lowes); knife makers should take their popular full size fixed and folders and make some promotional pocket fixed blade versions of them. Imagine all the Cold Steel line in mini but usable versions.
I've been looking at US made options. Hogue Extrac, White River M1, Benchmade Hidden Canyon, maybe a Bradford 3.5. Huh, those are all hunting or hunting adjacent.
How can a blade shape be called a reverse tanto if the "tanto" section isn't sharpened, like how a traditional tanto blade is. It's a sheeps foot, or lambs foot like DCA said!
Actuality is waiting for the M390 MKM Makro 2 and hopefully in the near future the Pocket Tango Exclusive that I like will be available soon. Thanks DCA
Love this channel and the fixed blades we’re seeing here. Just be sure to understand your local knife laws. These are illegal if “concealed” in my pocket in my state.
Some budget-friendly EDC size options would have been nice - I love my Waxahachie for example, maybe there are alternatives. Question to DCA: Do you feel that the prices of EDC fixed blades are justified when compared to the prices of comparably spec'ed folding knives which are more complex to produce?
I carry a little dragonfly daily. Walking around with a very obvious fixed blade really takes a certain type of person. I do love these sized knives for a nap sack.
I have the Mechforce Forager. It is very nice, but damn is it expensive. I was surprised about how small it really was when I got it. But I have bear hands. Its been a great EDC blade.
I love the Boker, but they are essentially Benchmade money for a steel and sheath not as premium. I LOVE that Burnley classic design, but it's not worth a Barlow pattern in aeb-l
Agree about the reliability argument, but still wouldn't have hurt to stress folks should first check their local state knife laws before committing to a purchase of a fixed blade. In Massachusetts for example, it's a felony to carry a fixed blade (Stiletto) regardless of length, save for bringing a kitchen knife from point A to point B, identifying them all as dangerous weapons.
That Benchmade Dacian looks like edc and self defense perfection, but I struggle with their prices. Nearly 3 bills for something that would get little usage is a big pill to swallow.
May I ask you, to put the filter feature in the wishlist page, on your website? It's essential that we can search the products price wise not only by the date we add them in our wishlist. Thank you.
Hi KnifeCenter crew. I have a Bradford Guardian 3 with the sheep foot’s blade and the leather scout carry sheath. This is my first fixed blade edc. While I love the knife I have come to realize I really don’t like anything hanging off my belt. Are there any attachment options like an Ulticlip to convert leather sheaths to pocket carry as there are for kydex?
Hey DCA et al, thanks for all the info! I'm headed to Europe for the new year. None of my edc knives will work. Can you recommend some classy but small bladed slipjoint (nonlocking) knives for me?
What’s the point of choosing a stronger construction if the ridiculously small handles don’t let you exert enough leverage to take advantage of that strength?
I picked up that exact MKM pocket Tango when they first came out. It is my first fixed blade pocket knife and it hasn’t left my pocket since I bought it. Couldn’t be happier with it.
White River M1 series makes a great pocket fixed blade when you throw an ulticlip on the sheath. Great knife.
The Boker Barlow BFF is a small knife but it's actually a knife and a half; so good. I got the aeb-l and micarta variant.
I’ve carried the esee cr 2.5 for a couple yrs. I used to carry the izzula2 for yrs. I found the older I get the smaller my knives get.
Yeah I rotate between the Izula in S35v and the CR 2.5 great pocket carry knives. I just loop paracord through the bottom of the sheaths and hang them upside down in my pocket.
I carry my pocket tango 1 everyday, hands down my favorite pocket fixie.
Just got a Tops Street Scalpel a few weeks ago from KC and love it. Could've been a contender on this table, for sure.
I got a Böker Vigtig vs Wild... needs to be on the list... I got some scout straps and love it...
Aaaaahhh my favorite category… well small to medium fixed blades anyway. Thank you for the vid
Love the cold steel safe maker. I keep it in my edc rotation. Obviously, this dagger is intended for self defense purposes. I have the 4.5 inch blade. Highly recommend
Nothing better than waking up to coffee ☕️ and a table full of fixed blades with David's excitement!
Made a big mistake not including the Artisan Cutlery Sea Snake. For 40 bucks the length weight and sheath are one of the most pocket friendly on the market. I tried several of these and ended up with the sea snake. Highly recommend!!

Flitz and a dremmel polishing wheel. Suprising how good it makes my big blades look.
@@obsever97 A good tip. I don't have a dremel, but I may have to pick one up.
My ideal pocket fixed blade is the Buck 662 Alpha Scout Elite. Shouldve been on this list. Paired with an Oak City pocket sheath it’s perfection!
Every folder dreams of being a fixed blade, congrats on Pocket Tango success! Much deserved!
A real budget option would be the Schrade Delta Class Adder with a 2.75" AUS10 blade and injection molded sheath. Don't know what that sheath looks like. Not sure if you carry Kunwu, but the Stiffy P in Vanadis 8 is really nice. Stays razor sharp.
I just got a Kizer harpoon mini in 3v. It’s an excellent choice for a pocket fixed blade.
Love some pocket fixies... and Christmas is coming
I purchased the Muk and Cleaver versions of the Pocket Tango and they are as good as it gets! I wear mine inside my waistband and they ride weightless and invisible, even in PJ shorts! Fantastic work!

DCA. You know I’m waiting for the Skipjack to become available. I love your new design MKM fixies. Great content from Knifecenter.

hey David, I got one of those Castrom mini hunters you showed recently, and thats is about as perfect as you can get, its now my current pocket FB,
IMO the best are tkell blades and stroup knives , amazing for self defence and can do anything every EDC can
Kizer Muskrat should be on this list
Absolutely. We were sold out at the time we filmed unfortunately -DCA
@knifecenter another confirmation on how good it is! Also, I love your MKM collab and hope to get my hands on one, straight out of Italy 😅
Greetings from Austria
One hundred percent agree 💯💯💯
@@knifecenterexclusive muskrat - orange Dark matter CF & s90v
Is that a pocket fixed blade in your pocket or are you just happy to see me DCA!!!! Great video man 👍
My pocket fixed EDC is a Bradford G3 Sheepsfoot, with a kydex sheath and UltiClip
Mine is a Bradford G3.2 drop point, kydex sheath and tek-lok.
G3 with a kydex sheath here also. One kydex sheath has a ulticlip and the other has a tek mount.
Love the Makro and sheath setup. My favorite pocket fixed blade is the Bastinelli Chopper with an ulticlip
While it does not come come with a sheath for your pocket you can get them easy enough and the Falkniven WM-1 is the best I could think of and what I carry in my pocket.
Esee Izula s35vn has been my throwback go to. Back loven, Esee!
Mr. Bigger than average hands! Glad to see your content pop up in my feed again
The Reiff F3 has become my favorite EDC fixed blade. Not sure if KC carries them; but if not, you should.
I have two Kizers in CPM 3V, the Smolt and the Harpoon Mini, both fit in the coin pocket of my jeans.
I carry at bbq, an old Hickory bird and trout. About $14 bucks. Nice patina on it.
Lucky Dog knives is another option. I really like that pocket tango with the nessmuk blade!
My absolute favorite knife category. Let's freakin go.
The MKM Mikro was a great little pocket fixed blade until I lost it. Might have to get a Makro or Pocket Tango. MKM's magnetic retention leather sheath is classy.
I've been carrying my mkm makro 2 recently. Can't go wrong with getting it used for $75
Great video as always. Tpf sheath?
I thought the Makro was a Pocket Tango at first glance, good looking knife. I like the red lava carbon
For self defense i have a Bastenelli picour and spade. i love how the ring sits just above the pocket. would love that dopamine 🤤
I like the L T Wright Small Northern Hunter as a pocket fixed blade, you just need a different sheath than the one that comes with it.
I got a D2 knife like the bastinelli with a kydex sheath which is pretty nice. Bought my own ulti clip. Was like 26-28 all said and done. I know knives are pricey. I have a few. Just happy I guess for not paying a lot for something I hopefully won’t have to use.

This year I got my first fixed blades one of them being the pocket tango and it gets carried more than my Sebenza xD
Just picked up the twosun ts247 m390 mini fixed blade and an ulticlip for $69
How come you left out the Viper Handy? That is my pocket fixed blade of choice right now and it work beautifully. I have one with the kydex sheath. After removing the straps on the sheath, it slipped into my pocket easily.
Really like your Pocket Tango designs, but I think a kydex sheath would be great.

Although it has a bit of length, the Civivi Stormridge is actually very comfy in the pocket.
@ thanks for the recommendation. I really like the one with the desert tan finish.
I've only really owned fixed blade kitchen, skinning and fillet knives. I like the idea of a fixed blade, but not really sure what I would prefer. I'm used to carrying a Case mini stockman.

Hey state of michigan! Look how cool these are! Fix your laws! I don't want to have to get a CCW to carry a pocket fixie
I think the Spartan Blades Phrike and Formido knives should be in the lineup
These people on this UA-cam channel seem to be so cool and down to Earth. Dave is a cool man. This is a real comment bTW lololololololo
I still would like a weekly new fixed blade video.
I love the Boker, but they are essentially Benchmade money for a steel and sheath not as premium. I LOVE that Burnley classic design, but it's not worth a Barlow pattern in aeb-l
YES!!! fixed blades!!!
Hmmm yall must have small pockets, I tend to run either a Ferrum Forge Lackey XL or a Civivi Stormridge in my pocket....
Cute lil Civivi
Why no Giant Mouse or Viper, both excellent pocket fixed blades?
Agree about the reliability argument, but still wouldn't have hurt to stress folks should first check their local state knife laws before committing to a purchase of a fixed blade. Brisa Necker for me, thanks.
Kizer muskrat is a winner also
Thank you!

Could you do a list or mentions for small to large daggers for edc?
Hi KnifeCenter crew. I have a Bradford Guardian 3 with the sheep foot’s blade and the leather scout carry sheath. This is my first fixed blade edc. While I love the knife I have come to realize I really don’t like anything hanging off my belt. Are there any attachment options like an Ulticlip to convert leather sheaths to pocket carry as there are for kydex?
Somehow, I'd love an Opinel fixed blade
Lionsteel m1 and h1 ❤
Hey DCA et al, thanks for all the info! I'm headed to Europe for the new year. None of my edc knives will work. Can you recommend some classy but small bladed slipjoint (nonlocking) knives for me?
I'm interested in this category anyway, but David could be selling bad eggs and I would still buy.
