That was me that went out fast. Even though I'm 59 my body still remembers going out fast in high school cross country and track. And it really helps to avoid trying to navigate all the other people (and dogs and strollers). You missed out on interviewing Max Jenson who is one of the best USA marathoners for his age.
I love seeing some attention brought to American Parkruns! I've just completed my 80th in the UK, and they're a great weekly motivator to keep improving my fitness. It's awesome seeing you enjoy the race and the community in this video! There aren't hundreds of Parkrun locations in the US, but I'd love to see you explore the few that are local to you. The 16 minute 29 second course record at Des Moines Creek could be a nice challenge for you in future.
Parkruns are massive here in the UK, a few years ago I set a challenge for my border collie Dylan to drag me round to a first at the local parkrun, he over achieved with 3 firsts , Dylan was the local Legend!
I live in London. There must be over 50 parkruns within 8 miles of me let alone across the whole of the UK. The most attended ones have over 1500 runners. A small one is at least 250. It’s super popular!
Thanks for coming out Spencer. It was fun to have you here, and it seemed to really energize a lot of our parkrunners!! Would love to see you visit more parkruns, but Icant think of anything better than to see you back here in a battle with @allie_ostrander. In case you haven't seen it, our course record for males is 15:30 and females is 18:01. It would be fun to see what you both could do to those records 😁
3 videos in a week!? Consistency is what separates "The Local Legend" from the others; keep it up Spence! And thank you for the new content -its awesome.
Park run at Perrigo Park! How cool is that! I literally live very close to that park. Play a lot of adult league soccer there. Great to see you run the course there. I never knew they did this on a weekly basis.
Victory Insoles, 🤔. Do they really work? Nice run Spencer! I was also thinking of running that, I think it is one of the few parkruns around the Puget Sound.
North Bay, Ontario, Canada Parkrun next. 2.5k out and back, couple small hills. Course record on the 15s. When will we see you here?! Parkrun got me in to running too, after I turned 40. I was a football player and weightlifter, it’s quite the transition! Great vids, just subbed.
I guess my beagle has a ways to go to keep up with Piper!😂 Every time I see your microphone cover, I think of the story where the lady found a pom and the side of the road and thought it was a hedgehog and put it in a box and left it food and then took it to the vet.
lol the dog world record is like 12:30ish i think - but again, who knows how many people actually document their dog's 5k lmao. might just be fairly uncontested or tested world record. Good job doggies!
God bless you guys the only way to heaven is by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and savior! Do you need prayer or praise over anything my friends?
Seems like you're having fun doing this, which is great! I like the format of getting a couple of minutes with the director, a shot of the course etc. I think it's a great way to drive attendance and interest for the races as well - including the name, location, or a link to the race would help (especially for recurring races)

Allie needs some more appreciation

Great video--you did a wonderful job capturing the feel of this race.
i'm loving this local legend series, seems like you're enjoying it too
Every week he keeps dropping 30 seconds, forget the Kenyans and Ugandans, even the dog's 11:20 time is in danger from this man

Love these new videos Spencer!

Beautiful course!
Dude you run the same time I do, I haven't even ran a top 20 in local races, how slow are races in the US?

Hey Spencer, I love watching your videos and with cross country season in a few months I would love to see a training guide video.
Good series 👍
Congrats!
These are fun and still stalking the world record.
Sub 16 coming soon for sure 💪🏻
After sub 16, sub 15 is just around the corner, and by then, you’re back baby
great job spence!
Loved this.
Okay I’ve officially lost my chance to randomly show up to your race and give you any competition
Agree, great content 😊.
Didn’t you run 14:2x not that long ago? How long do you think it’ll take to get back to that level?
Shout out to John, local stalwart masters crusher.
Thanks a lot Bryan! Hope you're still racing!
@@johnleo8363 In my mind I am :)
If you're joining Allie for the Payton Jordan invite, there's also a parkrun not far from Stanford
What's the name of it? 🤔

Oh my god I was gonna run this race last week but decided against it 😭😭😭 missed my chance to meet Spence 😭
Nice 👍
those insole are crazy expensive
Doing renton parkrun the week before I come back from college 😢
What if you ran a 5k race that's not a park run. Would you still be a legend
👍👍👍👍
I sure would love to run a 5K in 11:20. Any advice will be welcome.
What are you even saying?
@@muttyvisuals577 11:20 is how fast the pup ran it in. I'd take advice from that dog too 😂

Didnt Spencer run 14:XX lat year?

There’s no way that dog ran that quick

Hey Tony! Hope to see you out there one of these Saturday's if you are in town!

Nope I just want you guys to go to heaven because I love you guys!
2nd guy pretty much beat you since he was 40 sec slower but over 10 yrs older. You got 2nd place
