I'm an idiot. After 27 years, I'm just now realizing that the lemonade tastes like ass because Edgar ate all the damn sugar...😂
son of a bitch i never considered that 🤯
I was watching another reactor last year and it hit me. I love it when that happens tbh.
I too am stupid, I didn’t notice that the flame thrower guys were incinerating alien guts at the beginning.
If someone’s ass tastes like sour lemonade, then they’re into some freaky deaky sh-it.
Ooohhh I never realized that either 🤦♀️
“A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.” - Agent K
Sad reality he's right
@schadenfreude5349 Well, except for the ones who turned into Reavers.
That's how we ended up with certain political movements at various points throughout human history. Not talking about any particular movement, please don't target me, I have fish. 😢
@@mr.joshua6818 I’m not accusing anybody of anything.
@@victorhernandez8723 good, cause I have fish...
Vincent D'Onofrio casually dropping one of the greatest physical performances of all time
i bet he had a blast.
Absolutely. Really impressed with his performance in this. Overlooked.
One of the most underrated performances out there. It’s actually incredible how good he is in this role.
He steals every scene he’s in, truly.
I heard that he wore locked knee and elbow braces to help with the movements
"Those books are way too advanced for her, she about to start some shit"
One of my all-time favorite lines: "Elvis is not dead, he just went home" 😂
It's not a lot to ask, but it's a 2 letter word - he - you have to amend the double ee. Just sayin.
I make that joke to this day, still. xD
Tommy Lee is hilarious even when serious.
I think it's when He hollers 4 Me.. in all His movies LoL
he's not dead, thou...
This movie has one of my very favorite quotes:
A thousand years ago, everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew humans were alone on this planet.
Imagine what you'll know tomorrow.
J was actually correct about the alien thing during the training test. That's why Zed looks at K. He was the only one to think outside the box, hence him saying "This was everything we expected from you all" aka an insult to the others trained to fire first and ask questions later. Plus, in the animated series, they reveal a dangerous alien in fact does look like Tiffany, meaning J was correct to analyze and say "She's the one that's a problem".
Fun tidbit: the written test didn’t matter, Jay passed because he was the only one clever enough to use the table
The test was about thinking outside of the box. Unorthodox and Unconventional.
wana get down on this
*_FUN FACT:_* They gave Tony Shalhoub helium for the parts his character spoke while his head hadn't fully regrown. That's how they raised the pitch of his voice.
If anyone else remember watching the animated series as a kid, raise your hand!
I miss Saturday morning cartoons and Kids WB😢
Alpha: ah I see thst you had to put down your dog when you were a child.
Zed: That's the ending to Old Yeller you senile old fool
🖐️
🖐
🙋♂️
The Intro to the cartoon was classic
I loved that part "why did you think little Tiffany deserved to die". Laugh every time.
Tommy Lee Jones has equally great line deliveries. His “Try it,” in reference to having loved and lost, was actually heartbreaking, making that happy ending perfect.
TLJ was perfect in the role and should have been showered with awards. Rip Torn too.
I was watching the making of mib and they where saying how they wanted will to be the obvious funny one and tlj to be the dry humor one. Tlj even said he thought he wasn't funny at all until he saw the whole movie
Edgar/The Bug is Vincent D'Onofrio's best role ever. And arguably one of the best physical comedy *and* body horror performances of all time IMHO.
He starts out like a frickin' Beetlejuice character while his skin's still all fresh and elastic... but by the time the movie ends and he does his magic trick? He's straight out of The Fly.
And he somehow manages to make the transition between the two totally seamless as the stakes get higher.
holy shit thats the full metal jacket or punished dude right. I've seen this movie countless times and never knew that.
@@thepimp31 Yup.
Idk I really love him as kingpin in the daredevil show
Vincent is brilliant in pretty much everything he's in. He was my generation's Thor, from Adventures in Babysitting. And he was in one of the most devastating episodes of Homicide: Life on the Streets.
One of my favorite actors for sure. He's amazing whatever role he plays.
No joke, I consider this one of the best written films of all time. The test and the shooting range scene are perfect examples of clever writing without spoon feeding the audience.
"K, did you ever flashy-thing me?" "No." "I ain't playin' witchoo, K! Did you ever flashy-thing me?" "No."
Vincent D'Onofrio doesn't get enough credit for his fantastic physical acting. His portrayal of Edgar the Bug is a tour de force. My favorite bit is him outside the jewelry store in the van trying to 'act casual.'
And did you recognize Tony Shalhoub ('Monk') as pawn shop owner Jack Jeebs?
Vincent D’onofrio is brilliant in this, utterly convincing as a giant bug in a human skin 😂
"A person is smart... People are dumb panicky animals." One of my all time favorite quotes.
Also, this movie never gets old. Easily rewatchable and it's Will Smith in his prime.
One of my favorite as well.
With the follow up, "Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."
Watch him in little-seen "Enemy of the State."
I've always kept that quote in the back of my mind.
U forgot dangerous bewteen panicky and animals xD
This movie is to the 90’s what Ghostbusters is to the 80’s.
this comment deserves more likes, i really dig that.
Good comparison
This movie is a testament to how good of an actor Vincent D'Onofrio is. How many actors could play an alien in a man suit and make it one of their best performances?
I unironically think Vincent D'Onofrio should have won Best Supporting Actor for this.
he probably could've, but he didnt get much screen time and when he was it was physical acting standalone.
he wasnt beating out Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting
It’s Vincent D’Onofrio who played the alien. He was Pile in Full Metal Jacket, Kingpin in Daredevil, and Detective Goren in Law & Order Criminal Intent.
Law & Order Criminal Intent was my favorite
@@brandonrobinson529it was my favorite after SVU
@@AnimalAlmighty Cool I love Both
he was also in adventures in babysitting.
And Pooh Bear in The Salton Sea. Another great character.
This was huge when it came out in 1997. 1997 was a great year for movies. So many bangers. This was on the heels of Independence Day and this was the movie that really cemented Will Smith as a Hollywood star and box office draw. As Good As It Gets is a 1997 Oscar nominated film that has been almost forgotten, even though the winners for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor are all in it. Gran Torino gets a lot of praise, but As Good As It Gets is where that kind of character was at its best.
The '90s were a great era for writing. PERIOD.
I am so glad I was a '90s kid
You were right that 1997 wad a great year for movies. Good Will Hunting, Titanic, Men in Black, Face/Off, As Good as It Gets, Jackie Brown, Donnie Brasco, Chasing Amy, The Fifth Element and many more. Although the Best Supporting Actor Oscar of that year actually went to Good Will Hunting, but As Good as It Gets is a really good movie, too.
It's the 1984 of the 90's, really.
@Knight-Bishop that's actually 1993 for me. But you're right. 1997 is one of the best 90s years for movies.
@@rosefriday4287 I know. Lucky you. I'm an early 2000s kid. And while there were still a large handful of great movies made then, they don't compare to the movies of the 90s, 80s or 70s. But I don't think that you need to be a cinephile to know that.
Funny mention of Elvis being an alien when in Lilo and stitch there was an Elvis record playing and Jumba, an alien, said “oh i love this song!”
That part of Lilo & Stitch was an intentional nod to this movie.
Little detail, the lemonade that Edgar's wife made was horrible because the bug in Edgar's skin drank all the sugar.
that's sad that she couldnt go get more, sure went to talk to the tabloids though.
@@UltimateGamerCC The tabloids came to her. She can't go anywhere, the truck's busted.
Who remembers the Men in Black music will smith did which was aired on MTV years ago.
This film has so many subtle hillarious 1 liners: "You're everything we've come to expect from government training.", "We at the fbi do not have a sense of humor we are aware of."
The whole scene where J helps the alien give birth still has me dying of laughter
That baby alien was so cute. My friend and I looked forever for a doll of that.
To me is Will's face when Tommy Lee Jones asks him if "anything about that seemed unusual to you?"
3 Fun Facts for you:
1. The Worms (the aliens in the coffee room), were actually speaking the language of Jabba the Hutt from "Star Wars".
2. If you notice, the Edgar suit decomposes all throughout the movie, up to the point he straight up looks like a zombie in the climax.
3. The one roach that Will Smith stepped on to anger the Bug was actually just a mustard packet.
20:50 "The last suit you ever wear" There's a phrase meaning the one you wear in your coffin
Remember in Independence Day, some woman said she hoped the aliens would bring back Elvis.
Will WAS the Fresh Prince and it never completely goes away. Because of this it's important for his scripts to allow for that, even if a tiny bit cause sometimes he just can't help it.
Fun fact: Edgar was basically a giant bug wearing a straight jacket of human skin. To help emphasize the movements, the actor put braces on his legs
Hands down one of the funniest Science Fiction action comedies and Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones make a fantastic duo in Agents J and K respectively, and Vincent D’Onofrio does a funny but terrifying performance as Edgar the Bug/The Farmer.
Finally, Frank the Pug is voiced and puppeteer by Tim Blaney who also voice for Number 5/"Johnny Five" in _Short Circuit 1-2_ (which the both of you should check out) and an additional puppeteer for certain productions of _The Muppets_ and the voice of Goofy Goober in the _SpongeBob SquarePants Movie_
My kids rented this so many times we could have bought our own video store. It was one of THOSE movies that seemed to appeal to everybody. There are so many great throw-away lines in this.
*"There's always an Arquillian Battle Cruiser, or a Corillian Death Ray, or an intergalactic plague that is about to wipe out all life on this miserable little planet, and the only way these people can get on with their happy lives is that they DO NOT KNOW ABOUT IT!"* ~ Agent K
Finally! I thought you never react to this one! This is one of my all time favorite movies!
Small little detail of how good Jay is a good cop. On the shooting training scene. Jay was the only one that check the safety was on before putting the gun down on the table.
And he did it while pointing the gun in a safe direction.
First one feels a lot like ghostbusters, very down to earth with a wild premise and tech.
Another solid trilogy to enjoy. The table scene alone is comedy gold
Men in black had a cartoon in the 90s where the morgue doctor was actually brought into mib but they couldnt get her back for the second movie.
Also the cartoon is on youtube for free
Vincent D’Onfrio came up with the idea to have those wierd jerky movements. At first the director was skeptical but it worked.
Ha ha. I never noticed the cameo from Riffraff from Rocky Horror Picture Show. And it turned out Riffraff was an alien.
I like the theory that Tiffany was the intended target, J does make good points. Also I remember hearing that aliens are allowed to be out of disguise at night ,so having Tiffany wondering the streets at night with a bunch of aliens while holding those books kinda makes sense
It’s the obviously correct answer and the movie makes this clear.
I liked this scene because its a subtle reference to racial profiling. Just because they are alien or look like monsters, don't mean they are *menace 2 society* .
This is just the best example of the great work of Vincent D'Onofrio! He's just fantastic in this movie. Love Edgar, the Bug! Great reaction!
I’m happy you guys are getting into this series. The third on makes the first 2 look like highscool plays.
After you watch part 3, you figure out why Agent K knew Agent J's elementary teacher as soon as he mentioned her.
Shhhh
@@xxl_aydodamenace7605 Thats not a spoiler, not even close.
Ngl best part of the movie. 🥲
@@enzyme181no he just knows all the aliens that's all
@@ASKMEABOUTMYGARDEN Thats almost as likely as him watching agent J grow up his whole life.
The men in black triolgy is so worth watching!
Man in black 2 and 3 please love you guys😂
I don't know if you noticed it, but I love how the skin the bug was wearing was slowly rotting and getting worse throughout the movie like real skin would.
One of the best duos ever. I love K's dry humour and J's snarkiness
I saw this in theaters and, to be honest, I wasn’t a fan of it. But then I watched it again. And again. And again. Now it’s one of my favorite movies! Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith play off each other so well and it’s so enjoyable. Glad you guys liked it.
Edgar was played by Vincent D'Onofrio ... also played the soldier who killed himself in Full Metal Jacket... one of the best actors in the game! ...doesn't get enough flowers
11:02 that lady with Will Smith was supposed to be in Men In Black 2; a lot of women in Sci Fi were taking inspiration from Agent Scully/Gillian Anderson on the X Files.
The tests are simple but brilliant, problem solving and assessing the situation before acting and J passed them all.
Men in black is definitely one of those movies that I swore I saw years before I actually did, but nah it was all the toys and references in other pop culture that made me think I saw it
One of the first movies my parents bought for me on VHS for a birthday gift
This Sci-fi classic has aged very well. Great reaction bros! 👍🏿
Immediately when I saw the notification I got so happy because I knew you two are gonna enjoy this movie so much lmao 😭 and don't forget the rest of the trilogy!!
“That lemonade is ass”. If you remember the bug alien had all the sugar put in his sugar water. So the joke here is that she made the lemonade with no sugar so it didn’t taste good.
The 2nd one is even better and you'll love who guests stars in it
I LOVE this movie, it moves at such a brisk pace. Brilliant screenplay
Smith and Jones...
I loved that the poster highlighted the last names...
If anyone didn't noticed, Jeebs was the actor from Monk and Galaxy Quest.
I absolutely LOVE this franchise. Would recommend all of them. I still have them on VHS 📼
I'm so glad you guys watched this! It's so cute! Now watch the sequels! Please! You won't regret it.
Fun fact: in the Italian version, Dennis Rodman name was replaced with Michael Jackson's, since almost nobody here knew him at the time, so nobody would have gotten the joke aaaand... Michael Jackson actually appears in MiB2, as an alien :-)
Interesting, you both got the orion's belt twist pronto. Like 99% of the rest of us didn't at the time.
Bravi ;-)
You guys talking about Jedi Academy at the end there just made my day. :D
0:29 I mean, a little girl with a Quantum physics book is suspicious. Especially since there are disguised aliens on earth.
Thanks, Guys! I had a good time watching you react to it.
Holy cow, I never realized that Edgar’s wife’s lemonade sucks because he ate all the sugar in the house!!!!!
Vincent D’Onofiro is appropriately rated and underrated all at the same time always and this performance😘🤌🤌
Great reaction guys!
You guys seen The Cell w/VD from 2000? Another great performance from him!
OMG I've seen this so many times and only just figured this out - the little guy isn't trying to say Belt, he's trying to say Bell, J guessed belt because everybody does. I always thought the little guy just called a collar a belt but Orion's bell makes more sense, duh.
Or am I the last one to get it?
I dont think anyone realized the clerk at the mourge was played by the same guy who played Ian in Alvin and the chipmunks
I still call supermarket tabloids "the Hot Sheets", LOL.
Awesome Movie and Work Guys, Thanks!!! Greetings from Helsinki,Finland🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
❤Love the fact that the “Bug Edgar” ran face first into the screen door when he first put on the Edgar skin.
"You're breaking my heart. Show me your face, and I'll cure all your ills."
Too funny
Now you guys absolutely have to watch the rest of the series cause it's all amazing 🤩
This was such a great movie when it came out. MIB 2 wasn't nearly as good - but MIB 3 was amazing. Maybe even the best of the series.
Mr. Adwen is so chill. I have a soft spot for fat Chihuahuas.... My fat boy was named Burton Guster. We called him Gus. He lived a very happy, pampered life!!! Lobe the channel!!!!!!😜

I love the whole series, but the 3rd one is my favorite though.
'This is swuillyup and Bob!' 😂
fun fact Little Tiffany was the correct answer at the shooting range :)
Real quick.. before I finish this episode with y’all. Nothing better than making and hearing your own brother laugh at a joke you made.
I did whatever I could to make my brother laugh growing up. Also make him cry but let’s not judge that part 😂
When I watch you guys you remind me of my and the little brother. Anyways I enjoy your guys channel I know you’ll love these MIB movies. 🤟🏽💯
Great reaction, looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd one too! ✨
"Let's put it on...the last suit you ever wear" Me hearing that for the first time was like oh yeah time to get suited up and now hearing this since I'm older...wait the final suit like no more suits...casket ready style.
1 Edgar/Bug = Vincent D'onofrio played Gomer Pyle in "Full Metal Jacket".
2. Tommy Lee Jones' roommate in college was Al Gore.
3. Jones has claimed that he's never had a part that he didn't love and doesn't have a job.
Just a hobby that pays very well.
4. "Congratulations Reggie........It' a squid".
5. Having a weapon with a recoil like that defeats the purpose of a human using it.
