"Come with me if you want to live."
Fun Fact: Both Linda Hamilton and the Security guard getting coffee in the institution have twin siblings, so their twins were used in the movie when both Sarah and the guard were on screen with their duplicates. No camera tricks needed for those scenes. Sadly, Leslie Hamilton Gearren passed away in 2020 from cancer, but while not officially an actress and was a nurse in real life, she had a pretty neat screen presence in one of the greatest movies ever!
Also, you have to give a lot of credit to Robert Patrick, his performance made the T-1000 an intimidating villain despite being half of Arnold Schwarzenegger's size.
yeah the twins were also in gremlins 2.
There's not arguing that this movie is one of the greatest sequels ever made.

Indeed. Along with Godfather 2, Aliens and Mad Max 2.
Honorable mention: Predator 2 (very underrated)
@@CliffuckingBooth Agree with all the mentioned, except Predator 2. Danny Glover was the highpoint in that movie, that's about it.

My thoughts, to the letter.
Godfather 2, Aliens, T2, Empire Strikes Back are definitely the Mount Rushmore of movie sequels.
And of course you get Vasquez ;)
@@joemckim1183Absolutely!!!!
Fun fact : When John Connor is on his motorbike being chased by the T1000, Robert Patrick was a real life track racer and could practically catch up to the motorbike. :)
Yep! That’s why John also looks so scared! They didn’t tell Edward Furlong that Robert was going to chase him. They only told him to jump on the dirt bike and take off. So when Robert started chasing him he was legitimately shocked and scared 😂😂
he DID catch up to the motorbike on the first take apparently
Cameron had to ask him to slow down because he kept catching the bike.
Quite so. He had been training really hard.@@Serai3. He even trained to not blink when shooting to make himself look more robotic
@@Serai3 It's because they couldn't have the bike go faster because it didn't work well with the shot. The man cannot catch one of those things at full-throttle. Absolute max human speed is maybe 30mph.
Now, one WOULD expect a humanoid machine to be somewhat faster, but probably even a lightly-built terminator could only manage 40mph.
T-1000, on the other hand, has no moving parts...so it's purely a mass/force ratio, because there are no mechanics. It's actually all fluid-dynamics.
In its humanoid shape, it could maybe hit 50 or 60mph. But if it changed to something that serves no purpose but maximum speed, It could probably turn into the ultimate ball/wheel and hit 150mph easy. And it would have unmatched agility on top of that.
Obviously, it's just a movie, and the whole point of the scene is to show that the T-1000 is almost impossible to escape from. Hence the illusion of the shot that the kid is on a bike and he's still keeping up with the kid. But in reality, the bike isn't going very fast at all, nothing in the shot, is.
That doesn't take away from Robert Patrick's dedication or skills, but it's not some incredible achievement.
Kudos to James Cameron for not making the Miles Dyson character completely one-dimensional and cliché. Usually, we get the scientist who'll do anything to protect their work and research. Nice to see he actually put humanity over progress.
He started with the assumption that he could, but was persuaded to think if he should.
Joe Morton was also the police captain in Speed.
@@joemckim1183
And The police Sgt and later co lead singer in Blues Brothers 2000
Joe Morton also made a brief cameo in Godzilla: King of the Monsters as the scientist character (cannot remember the name right now) that was prominent in Kong: Skull Island. And just so happens that Joe Morton was close enough to the right age to be the proper continuation of that character. Basically - they needed an older version of that character in the small group of Monarch Scientists who was watching Mothra spread her wings from beneath the Waterfall. He's the one who is most visibly moved by the beauty of her - with a big old smile on his face.
@@logandarklighter And let us not forget that he was the Brother From Another Planet.
I can't even begin to describe how obsessed everyone was with this film when it came out. I was too young to see it in the cinema but my brothers went 6+ times, which back then just seemed insane but they weren't alone. Actual god tier film right here.

Judgement Day.
The stunts in this movie are incredible. That helicopter flying under the bridge is real and it's still crazy to see.
Same pilot that jumped out of the copter....Vietnam vet!
Check out a helicopter scene from the old chase movie, "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry". It comes around a street corner low to the ground, flying TILTED. The rotor blades were nearly cutting into the pavement.
“He killed Todd and surfed on him!” 😂 I don’t know why that made me laugh so hard.
its such a nonsense line and it reminds me of Source engine Liminal space levels; like writing you see on the wall
Robert Patrick was the silver surfer before the silver surfer 😉
These guys have the best off the cuff one liners.
😆😆😆
the effects still hold up today. one of the best movies ever made
This is literally my favorite movie of all time. The rush of watching this when it came out hasn't been replicated... Not even close. Maybe The Dark Knight.... But this is legit my absolute favorite movie. It checks all the boxes of what I want to see in a movie.
Good point. This film was seismic when it released. A film experience like no other.
The dark knight is a leprosus prostitute compared to this film
Best action movie ever made. Still a masterpiece to this day
Also my pick for greatest sequel of all time 🙌
Edward Furlong's acting in that very last moment with The Terminator is just phenomenal.
From pleading "It'll be okay, stay with us, it'll be ok!", to anger "I ORDER YOU NOT TO GO!", tipping over the edge into despair as his voice cracks on the last scream.
-I've seen this plenty of times, starting with the four times I watched it in theatres back in the day, and that scene never fails to punch me right in the heart!
11:22 that running sequence was All Robert patrick; he PRACTICED that shit so much that he was able to catch up to the bike during film shooting; probably felt really good after running that much; like health wise.
Such a great lesson in how to make a movie, I really wish the newer creators would learn from this. This movie was a masterpeice. Practical effects with minimal CGI (which still holds up to today). Real stunts, etc.
Amen! You can't make me believe that there aren't millions of screenplays, in Hollywood alone, to find a new idea from. Stop remaking movies that don't need to be remade! Have some balls and try something NEW! I mean, there's almost nothing special effects can't do these days! 💙
It was the most expensive movie ever made back in 1991 and the special effects were mindblowing at the time. This was before CGI was even a thing!
Why do people continue to believe CG didn’t exist, it did, a decade prior, it was just difficult and costly.
What T2 DID do was change the dynamics, and cost effectiveness, of CG thanks to ILM.
The scene in Jurassic Park where T-Rex eats the lawyer out of the outhouse, that was the T1000, the data was reused for that scene. Source: the ILM special on D+, the person that did it describes it.
Side note: Pixar was a computer first, developed at ILM, not a company.
@@c1ph3rpunk T2 put CGI on the map. Before this most people only knew CGI from the brief sequence in The Abyss.
Later on Janet Jackson & Busta Rhymes used it in 'What's It Gonna Be' video, as well as TLC in 'Waterfalls' video !!!
Not a movie but first music video to use CGI was Dire Straits's "Money for Nothing" in 1985. And of course there is the movie Tron released in 1982, which had CGI, and it was developed in the last 70s.
@@SherriLyle80s and The Last Starfighter and others.

Not only is this a great reaction (thanks guys) but the source sound comes through quite well in this YT upload also, those thuds and crunches and all the juicy sound effects that made T2 stand out even more!
So good, cheers guys! And cheers editor!
So glad you two were finally able to get this uploaded. Lots of fun.
I'm still amazed at the stunt pilot flying the helicopter under that highway overpass, that guy has skills and huge balls!
He really did, Tamburro was the stunt pilot and the pilot the T1000 told to get out. Glad they gave him a part because he more than earned it.
He's been playing GTA Online too much :D
First time I watched this legendary masterpiece, I didn't watch any trailers, I had no clue which of the 2 Terminators was the good 1, such an epic moment when it got revealed and what a rollercoaster ride until the very end, this movie was in all forms just perfect!
The dog barking was a reference to part 1 and Dr. Silberman was also briefly in part 1.
I heard that it was spoiled in the trailers 😄😄
@@0626polyboy It was spoiled in the trailers, but it was done that way on purpose. It's also worth remembering that not many people had the internet back then, so unless you saw the trailer in the cinema, it was unlikely you'd have too much knowledge going into it.
Definitely one of the best sci-fi movies ever made!
Also a great example why you should never try to brawl a shapeshifter.
The musical score for this film is friggin epic!
One of the rare occassions where a sequel was BETTER than the original.
Disagree - original was better as it was original. This is more of the same on a bigger budget.
@@Paul_1971 Harlan Ellison would disagree about how original Terminator was 🤔
Absolutely agree 💯💯💯💯
@Paul_1971 disagree everyone knows the second is way better
I wouldn't say better, it's a different genre of movie. The Terminator was a horror movie rather than action, T2 is pure action.
It's amazing how Robert Patrick manages to be terrifying despite being half Arnold's size.
it's that menace that is not merely 'cold killing machine'. but sadistic uncarring killingmachine.
For me, it’s his line at 33:21. “I know this hurts.” This model is advanced enough that it not just unemotional, it’s actively sadistic.
Robert Patrick that played the T1000 specifically trained himself to sprint run and not appear to be breathing hard or out of breath because he said that an artificial robot would not get tired
He also trained himself not to blink or flinch when firing a gun. He did not blink once in the whole movie!
Fun fact: 16:23 Twin brothers made this scene to make the movie more realistic
“Left on 3”
“2.. 1.. Turn”
Perfect!👍
The original Terminator holds a special place in my heart, but this sequel was even better. James Cameron takes every great element from the original film, showcases them with an enormous budget and tells an even more compelling story! This sequel can be watched a million times and you are guaranteed to not get bored at it!
Effing eff yeah. “Liquid Metal.”
Terminator 1+2 and aliens are Camerons finest

@@jimtatro6550 I agree completely.
It's still surprises me that there are people in the world who have not seen Terminator 2. Glad you guys saw it because it is one of the coolest movies ever.
I saw it and it was amazing can't watch the first terminator yet not old enough 3 or 4 years away
Fun fact: The actor for the T-1000 trained himself to run that fast while taking shallow breaths through his nose (or not breathing at all) to maintain the illusion that the was a machine. He was so good at it that he outran the moped and they had to reshoot it with him purposefully running slower. The man was a beast
T-1000 is the Silver Surfer. That's a good one.😂
It kinda looked like the silver surfer when he was shape shifting
Best thing about the parking garage chase?? Robert Patrick was actually able to outrun the dirt bike. Dude got in incredible shape for this movie.
And because of that they had to keep refilming the scene. Man was totally dedicated to the Terminator completing his mission lol.
I was 13 when this was released and that kid was on the cover of all the teen magazines. All my friends had a crush on him. Funny looking back. He was so young, but I guess so were we.
You just witnessed one of the greatest sequels ever made.
The T-1000 is one of my favorite movie villains of all time. That nightmare scene gave me nightmares.
"He killed Tod and surfed on him", that is pure gold :D.
You can tell when reactors have seen this film, when they are not shocked at the first act reveal in the hallway of the mall.
i went to cinema at 15 year old to watch T2 I loved it a total master piece and all visuals at the time was awesome.
Big ups to Edward Furlong for getting sober. And his new teeth
Not only is this one of the VERY rare sequels thats actually better then the original, it's one of the best action movies ever made. Also, Robert Patrick as the T-1000 is one of the most stoic, creepy, menacing villians ever. Dispite being like half the size of Arnold, you fully believe the T-1000 is more dangerous then the older Terminator is.
He did a much better job than Arnie himself at acting like a machine. No blinking, no breathing through his mouth, even while sprinting, no excessive emotions. Arnie did pull a few faces in T1 and T2.
That’s EXACTLY how I felt about him too!!
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) is so good that people react to the movie 2 times. It's not only a good movie is a 90's masterpiece
It's an all time masterpiece
Remember on the first Terminator movie Kyle Reese tells Sarah Connor that they wouldn't exist for 40 years and that movie was made in 1984, well add 40 years to that and you get 2024. We now have AI robots like that which is scary.
Umm..no we don’t…lol
No, we do not have AI robots like that. Whatever we have is light years away from what you're seeing in these movies.
@@Serai3 You better be careful when these AI robots become self aware.
@@joemckim1183 Why? What if they determine that we can be "fixed" and we enter a Golden Age of Humanity? Nobody ever thinks that.
the AI stage we are at are Dumb AI; like the Halo 3 ODST city; The Super intendent. we dont have Smart AI like Cortana yet.
I saw this when it came out...the CGI blew peoples minds back then...and it STILL holds up today
The hype before opening day was insane.
Arnold said John Connor sent him back "35 years from now." This movie came out 33 years ago. We are almost there, baby! JUDGEMENT DAY 2026!

When I was a senior in HS in 1992 my friend's dad had a laserdisk player and this movie on disk. We thought it was so hi-tech and crazy that we could watch it at home on a big screen TV. At the time we believed it was hands-down the greatest movie ever made and watched it repeatedly.
The greatest action movie of the 90's, hands down!!
Man, I wore out my VHS tape of this movie, I watched it so much! LOL
I SO miss the days when you would talk about the movie afterwards! SO much better than doing it later as its more spontaneous, more natural, more real! PLEASE bring it back!
TRIVIA: The photographer with his finger stuck on the camera shutter when the T-800 is thrown through the store window is the cop from the first Terminator film _"This is 1L-19..."_ who had his head bashed into the side of his squad car by the T-800.

This movie holds my record for most re-watches in the theater at 7 times.
Fun fact: once in a college class (I think a class about semiotics or post-modern cinema or something) our teacher made everyone say what was their favorite movie. Everyone tried to say something fancy or very cult. I just said f*ck it, "Terminator 2" everyone laughed but I still don't care.
The arc every one of the characters go through is perfect: John learn to be less of a brat and be more mature, Sarah let's go of her insane doomsday obsession and regains her humanity and finally a machine actually learns what to have humanity is. Then, the action is perfect, the acting is perfect, casting, the effects ah god I love this movie so much

It truly is great that such a duology of films exist. Terminator and Terminator 2 make up a perfect short series.
The Easiest way to think about ALL the Terminator movies/TV is think of as if they follow Different/Multiple Timelines:
- T1, T2(Director's Cut), end
- T1, T2(Theatrical Cut), T:Dark Fate
- T1, T2(Theatrical Cut), T3, T:Salvation
- T1, T:Genisys

Imagine what a shock Arnold being the good guy was for audiences when this movie first came out. People already were probably assuming hebwas the villain again, and they do a great job of making it appear that he's there to kill John
Actually, one of the TV trailers blew the twist by showing Arnold saying "Get down!" James Cameron decided that revealing the twist was a good strategic effort of bringing more intrigue into the movie.

Still amazing driving scenes n effects that still keep up today . we had 7 different john Connor figures and every bike . I lost my mum at 13 n she always reminded me of Sarah Conner too . Great throwback . The books are great too. I herd they were attempting to go back and follow the original directors timeline to create the proper sequel .
This movie set the standard for what sequels strive to be in today's cinema since then. 😊👍
that music will always be hands down the coolest musical score!!!
Why do people in movies always stop to look behind them when they're being chased?
The CHEER that went up in the audience when Sarah beat Bottles's head in was so gratifying. Every woman there; we ALL knew what she was feeling. It was like Sarah was taking revenge for all of us. So. Fucking. Satisfying.
Did you notice how Future John, in the prologue, actually moved like the Terminator? He does the same thing Arnold does in the role, moving his eyes before he moves his head. It was a great little character beat, showing how deeply the machine had influenced John even in the short time they knew each other.
The difference between the first film and the second was the budget. The first film was made when Cameron was working for Roger Corman, the king of the slap-dash action indies. It was basically a Corman cheapie that happened to hit at the right moment and went huge. The second one was made after Aliens and The Abyss. Cameron had become a big-name director by then, and T2 was the first film whose budget crossed the $100M mark. There was all the money he needed to make the sequel he wanted, and it shows on the screen. (Some said he had too much money, which manifested in things that seemed unnecessary, like seeing how the T-800 arrived in that bubble of energy. Yeah, cool, but did we really need that?) So of course this film is more technically impressive than the first, but just as dramatically satisfying.
Gods, Avatar. I heard someone describe it as "Ferngully In Space", a very apt description. By the way, Cameron did come back for another one. Terminator: Dark Fate was his continuation of the story, dumping everything that had been done after T2 (none of which he was involved with). It's an interesting film. You should check it out.

The shotgun Arnold is using is called a Mare's Leg, it is lever action with a large loop lever allowing for the Spinning reload. It can come as a high power rifle or shotgun. Henry Firearms makes several Versions of The Mare's Leg platform.
That's interesting that being what it is and being available like that, I remember the guy in the rifleman tv series, although not a shotgun, doing a similar reload in the intro's to the show. I always figured the idea might have come about from that.

The Last Great Terminator movie
Hands down, the best "part 2" of all time. And one of the best action movies, in general.

@@philliphernandez2649 Its crazy that someone can run that fast without taking in obvious breaths.
Yeah I saw this at the cinema when I was 15, and I can confirm this is the coolest bloody thing I ever saw.
The directors cut is actually fantastic in this. Deleted scenes show that the T-1000 took a buttload of damage when it got frozen and was losing it's ability to shape shift. John actually realizes Sarah isn't his mother because of a glitch where it didn't/wasn't able to change its leg to match the rest.

that was my childhood right there! the effects , the story , the callbacks?! in Disney (fl) they have the prop of arnold after he loses an arm!
So a little fun trivia fact about this movie. There are two sets of twins used for filming, specifically for when the T-1000 was impersonating people. The first set was the ginger Police officer in the Hospital that was getting coffee and got stabbed in the eye by the T-1000 impersonating him. First set of twins, Second set was Sarah Connor herself. Linda Hamilton also has an identical twin, so when the T-1000 impersonates her at the end, they brought in Linda's twin to play herself.
Handy and cost saving for filming, thats for sure
