It’s actually explained in lore. The summons in final fantasy have pocket dimensions that they attack the enemies in, which is what lets them perform destructive feats without worry
i love how most of these have a damage cap of 9999 and then knights of the round deals nearly 130,000 damage
Which is why it's locked behind a few requirements to use it... RIP creature who angers the omnislash user and the summoner of Excalibur.
You pretty much can't get KotRT until fighting end battle unfortunately. So essentially, although very powerful, useless.
@@Nirotix got it right after the highwind. dont use it, it saps the fun out of the game. Unfortunately found out the hard way but i didnt use it on too many bosses so it was alright
4 x cut gives you an quick and easy 40,000 damage

The planet won't be need to be saved if there is no planet... Think about it.
What fascinates me is the incredible eclecticism of this They take diverse figures from Semitic folklore, the Bible, Scandinavian folklore, Greek mythology, and European medieval ideas, to name just a few, and combine it into this incredible smorgasbord of...I don't know what. There's a lot to criticize about Japanese RPGs, but where else can you find this kind of thing?
Hence why I love the Shin Megami Tensei series.

fighting a boss, there are two types of players:
-the ones who build up a strategy calculating it for hours
-the ones that do *THIS*

My strategy failed so Its time to call everything
1.) Use Hypers on all my characters
2.) Start boss fight
3.) Spam Beta, summons, and limit breaks until it dies.

I think the cutest summon is Choco/Mog. I like how the Chocobo picks up Mog with its beak after the attack before disappearing :) Thanks for the upllad.

i actually love the three types of bahamut. the tera flare one really impressed me when i first saw it back in the days.
Titan was my favorite. Not because I thought he was particularly cool or did a lot of damage, just thought the "anger of the land" text when summoning him was pretty badass and appropriate considering the story

I like Alexander for a similar reason. It's the only thing in the game that attacks with Holy damage, which is basically the power of the planet in FF7, and because it's a big mech with Holy, it feels like you're summoning a WEAPON to defeat the enemies of the planet.

Technically you're missing two scenes. Fat Chocobo, and the version of Odin where if the summon damage will kill the enemy, he does a different move....

@@cptsponko32 , it won't take too much sense storywise. Aerith was intended to be Sephiroth chief antagonist (fake last Cetra vs real last Cetra, wants to destroy the world vs wants to preserve the world, wants access to high black magick Meteor vs wants access to high white magick Holy etc), so Sephiroth wanted to kill her less because of her closeness to Cloud, amd more because of the danger she posed to his plans. There's, of course, an alternative - to let Sephiroth kill Cloud that time with Aerith becomjng the leader of the gang. But this is problematic since major plot points are revolved around Cloud being possessed by Sephiroth by the dubious virtue of being a Sephiroth "copy" (he's basically one of those creepy black cape guys, but with more personality).

@@user-hz9hu4gh2z If the time-travel stuff is true (which I don't like at all), then Sephiroth may have realized that returning her to the planet is a far greater problem than keeping her alive. On the other hand, it's Tifa who basically restores Cloud's mind (with Aerith's help in the Lifestream), so maybe such a trade-off isn't so unlikely after all.
I can't help but imagine that the Knights of the Round summon in the remake is going to be an absolute, overwhelming mind-blitzkrieg the first time you see it.
This comment hasn't aged well. It'll be 2030 (at the earliest) by the time the remake is far enough along to get knights of the round.

Hades is literally the best summon ever, no contest.
@S20☆ Urza if you wanna live to actually BEAT Ruby Weapon, Hades definitely helps as Ruby is vulnerable to Paralysis. Couple that with being able to freely use Knights of the Round and Ruby will be a cinch

Yeah I have the OST ripped from the CDs to my computer and I've played them directly to a sound system to speakers etc and it sounds just like that. As I stated this version in my video is the midi one from PC. Though I've never had a problem outside of the game matching the music quality I get in game.

HP Absorb combined with 5 star Knights of the Round, + ribbin,+ your best armor with magic defense equals invincible cloud.
After playing the game I learned that you can go into settings and modify the setting for the summons. I think you can speed them up or skip them. I had wish I had known that earlier.
The part of the music, which we first hear in this video at 0:55 to 1:10 is the music I grew up associating the summons in this game with - meaning if I was randomly thinking of a summon animation (which usually seemed to be Ramuh, even though I didn't favor him over the others) that is the music I would set it to, in my mind.
I guess the reason is, when I first got all of the summons (via cheating, shame on me) I was excited to see them all in action, so probably used them in battle a lot, as well as the magic I also got by cheating.
This games art style was better than FF8 and FF9
No wonder why this game was so great.

I don't need to see Knights of the Round again. I've still got it memorized.
All of the others were a sweet trip down memory lane.

@Origami84 That's true, good point. I have fat chocobo uploaded on my channel as a separate video. As for Odin, I only have Grudge Lance. I will see what I can do about getting Steel Bladed Sword, but I don't know how well 7 runs on Windows 7, and I don't want to mess with an emulator.
Fighting all Bahamuts at the same time and the Knights of the Round needs to be challenge boss fights in the remake!!!
I forgot how good the SFX were on these summons and how they made up 50% of the wow factor

yeah thanks you're only the 40th person to point that out. Fat Chocobo is rare and when i made this i didn't want to spend all day trying to get it. it's uploaded on another video I have on my channel.
Go look the Mod up. It lets you set the level of the characters and give what materia, skill, weapons etc you want. It's for PC.
