Yes, simply running FF9 in easy to adjust features like higher resolution, color, frame rate, and with texture filter makes it look more like a Dreamcast game. It could have mostly had the same graphics, but just doing small things such as pre-rendered backgrounds in a higher resolution. Something I haven't read yet is various sound fx aren't properly carried over into the upscaled version of FF9. There are graphical oddities or glitches during some of these animations. The auditory punch and awe are deflated compared to the PS1 version which is why I prefer that one. I was appalled at the sounds during the Ark summon in this video, wtf were they thinking with those mis-timed fxs and Ark's main weapon being engaged at 9:25 being soft instead of a deafening sharp clank!!
The only time I ever triggered rebirth flame was on my first ever playthrough as a kid and Hades KO’d me when he had like 1000 health left. I screamed so loud my mom thought I was dying.
Back when I played FF9 I hav no idea the mechanic wherein Eiko's summoning effects could be changed even existed! Decades later, I discover it on the www. Oh Well. I suppose I could dust off my old PS2 and replay it.
The way ff9 added the word "death" to signify an instant death effect looks silly, its like - "thank you captain obvious" no need to rub it on our faces. But honestly, aside from Carbuncle and Phoenix, the rest of the eidolons featured are merely for aesthetic purposes only if used in battle.
The damge of Eidolons increases with the numbers of Gems you hold. So if you have enough "Garnet" gems in your inventory Bahamut easily deals 9999 damage and since thats pretty much the best you can do in 1 turn I say that is pretty good. Carbuncles reflect buff lasts such a short amount of time that I found it not to be that usefull. I got more use out of Bahamut. Getting a alot of "Garnets" is pretty easy. Yes Pheonix is awsome.

The Void Ark, its not a boss, its the place used as an Alliance raid, A ghost ship, but yeah its essentially the same Ark
For people wondering what the giant creature Fenrir is standing on during his summon sequence, the Ultimania confirmed that it's IX's version of Titan.
I still have this game for the original Playstation along with many other games but I might just buy some of these games on Steam just for the hell of it.
How many times can you summon Ark, before the planet becomes swiss cheese?
Will never forget being at the last boss thinking I lost but then Phoenix rose me from the ashes and I proceeded to win. Still chasing that high til this day lmao
Interesting seeing Madeen. He was the only summon I never obtained in a Playthrough.
Isn't that one given to you in a point of the story? If that so, is unmissable
@@regizero333 You get it from the Ribbon Accessory equipped on Eiko. Storyline too. I'm just one that actually hardly ever uses summons in my playthroughs of any Final Fantasy Game. I only use them in necessity and the only ones in IX I truly summoned were Bahamut, Fenrir, Phoenix, and Ark. I never summoned any of the others as I prefer physical over magical combat. :)
I confess, I never once summoned Ark. I never got both Pumice Pieces, by the end of the game, so I never summoned Ark ever in the times I played. I didn't see the need for it, I was always content with getting Odin and Bahamut, because those were my favorite summons.
You should play Chocobo Hot and Cool game to get second Pumice Piece and then beat Hades in Memoria to open secret Synthetist shop that have option to forge Pumice from 2 Pumice Piece. Or you can get pumice by defeated Ozma in Chocobo Air Garden.
I utilised Ark for safe recovery. Since it's animation is pretty long, and Regen still in effect during the animation, my characters gone from near death to full HP after summoning Ark 😂😂😂
My attempt on Ozma was saved by Phoenix triggering.
Ark is like watching a whole movie
That's how I felt when I would W-summon KoR and spam mime against Emerald in 7.
Bahamut is like a moscot creature available in every FF series.
Alexander is the mascot summon in FFIX.
Except for XII… it was an airship
@@ahs3129 ark is also an airship
4:47 lucky bug escaped insta-death!
died a second later
wow, milennial decay? 1st time seeing that! how to get it?
You have to equip Eiko with the Maiden's Prayer to use Millennial Decay.
Man all this time and I'm still learning new things about this game
I remember the smile I had when I summoned Ark for the first time. Dude is just so cool.
I have played this game to absolute death and thought I’d pretty much seen everything, but I had no idea you could get different variations of the carbuncle summon , what the hell
This is so well edited. Thanks.
Good lord I've never seen the party wipe version of Phoenix because I never used Eiko. I played this game hundreds of times too!
Ark should gave been a multiple damage summon since so much is happening
huh I didn't know you could get different buffs off of carbuncle
Something I haven't read yet is various sound fx aren't properly carried over into the upscaled version of FF9. There are graphical oddities or glitches during some of these animations. The auditory punch and awe are deflated compared to the PS1 version which is why I prefer that one. I was appalled at the sounds during the Ark summon in this video, wtf were they thinking with those mis-timed fxs and Ark's main weapon being engaged at 9:25 being soft instead of a deafening sharp clank!!
FF9 effects looks better than modern day mobile RPGs eventhough it's made 20 yrs ago...
Best version of bahamutn, and megaflare
I think there is one missing. If i remember correctly Odin has two attackes. The second with the Spear ist possible when you eqip the relic odeur
Wow I have missed out a lot of summons!!
I wish they would remaster this game too
They have done that 😒
Remake you mean?
This is a remaster what your watching
@@brianlaudrupchannel remaster that bitch again then lol
@@mrjonsey nice
I was a kid when i got this game. Many night's watching the sun come up listening to this music lol
The only time I ever triggered rebirth flame was on my first ever playthrough as a kid and Hades KO’d me when he had like 1000 health left. I screamed so loud my mom thought I was dying.
Leviathan has always been my all time favourite.
Back when I played FF9 I hav no idea the mechanic wherein Eiko's summoning effects could be changed even existed! Decades later, I discover it on the www. Oh Well. I suppose I could dust off my old PS2 and replay it.
you must really hate The Beatles
>nukes the planet
>999 dmg
You know an attack is cool when you can see it from space xD
Still impressed by how good was FF9 Bahamut design.
Ngl, I kinda zoned out halfway through Ark’s summon and had to rewind and rewatch a bit of it >.
Wonder why they renamed Ark into Cruise Chaser in FFXIV. Guess it's the same family, just a different "guy."
Best FF game of all TIME, did anyone love how you get weapons that come with spells and stuff and all you gotta do is use it till it’s mastered. And all the side quests were so well done the Chocobo hunts and digging. You already got a phenomenal story, musical score…..I’m still playing this game to this day!!. The fun factor on this game is priceless. I always tell friends that are worried about learning magic spells in RPG’s play FF9 it’s easy to understand and use.
Good thing summons get nerfed in battles otherwise there wouldn't be a world left to save by the end of this.
Bless Garnet's Trance state model 🙏
all summons attack in ff9 r pretty simple n straight to the point (except ark of course) but powerful... n i still prefer ff9's Leviathan over ff15 one...
Yes, I feel Leviathan and Bahamut were best in FF9, and Ifrit was best in FF8. Phoenix was best in... heck, really all the PS1 generation summons were pretty damn awesome.
