DEFECTS OF VISION AND THEIR CORRECTION:
The eye may gradually lose its power of accommodation.
In such conditions, the person cannot see the objects distinctly and comfortably.
The vision becomes blurred due to the refractive defects of the eye. There are mainly three common refractive defects of vision. These are
1.Myopia or near-sightedness,
2.Hypermetropia or farsightedness, and
3. Presbyopia.
These defects can be corrected by the use of suitable spherical lenses. We discuss below these defects and their correction.
Myopia: The light from a distant object arriving at the eye lens may get converged at a point in front of the retina in the vitreous body. This type of defect is called near sightedness or myopia.
Let us observe these cases, and then you can understand the concept 'myopia'.
In the case of normal eye, the light rays from the object fall on the eye and converge on the retina. In the case of myopic eye, the light rays from the object fall on the eye and focuses the light at a point in front of the retina in the vitreous body. The correction for myopia: To compensate this, we interpose a concave lens between the eye and the object, with the diverging effect desired to get the image focused on the retina.
Hypermetropia: If the eye-lens focuses the incoming light at a point behind the retina, this defect is called far sightedness or hypermetropia. Let us observe these cases, and then you can understand the concept 'hypermetropia'.In the case of normal eye, the light rays from the object fall on the eye and converge on the retina. In the case of hypermetropic eye, the light rays from the object fall on the eye and focuses the incoming light at a point behind the retina.
The correction for hypermetropic eye: A convergent lens is needed to compensate for the defect in vision.
Presbyopia:What is presbyopia?Presbyopia is a common type of vision disorder that occurs as you age. It is often referred to as the aging eye condition. Presbyopia results in the inability to focus up close, a problem associated with refraction in the eye.How does presbyopia occur? Presbyopia happens naturally in people as they age. The eye is not able to focus light directly on to the retina due to the hardening of the natural lens. Aging also affects muscle fibers around the lens making it harder for the eye to focus on up close objects. The ineffective lens causes light to focus behind the retina, causing poor vision for objects that are up close. When you are younger, the lens of the eye is soft and flexible, allowing the tiny muscles inside the eye to easily reshape the lens to focus on close and distant objects.

Great,
You will help me go from 20/50, to 20/20.
Thank you for your help.
I need that as a pilot.
I feel that the eye is a very delicate part of the body. I really think that it is a motivator as far as creative ideas.
Ewww what are you doing going around feeling people's eyes?
Thanks! This was very helpful for my GCSEs.

Great presentation.
This is a great video explaining eye problems. However, I specifically wanted to read for presbyopia and that part is missing, where I wanted to learn the differences of it to myopia! Wished the video goes on a bit further.................

Is there any way to remove our lenses
Thank you Sir to clear my clarification
mere time itne ache diagram ni hote the mere ak teacher ne muje btai vo yaad hai thanks
I’ve noticed that I have too focus on something with my eyes for it too not be blurry is that normal I mean it can be far away and I’ll be looking at my phone and it looks fine but everything else in the room is blurry then I have too focus on the room and my phone gets blurry sorry if that dosent make sense but I was just wondering
That's normal. When you focus on an object, the majority of reflected light falling on your cornea is from the object, and the rest of the light is blurred due to the fact that it's not sharpened by the optic nerve.

so you need to wear glasses to correct this defects? or you need prk or lasic surgery? no other options? no natural treatments right?
I don't see how nature could correct that. It can prevent it during childhood by coming outside and play ( scientist have the theory that sunlight helps slow down the occuring of myopia) Since the children's eyes are still developing... In adults... Not so much since the eye is already developed and those defects aren't something nature can help. Also genes are at play to some degree. My dad has myopia on his left eye as do I, it's worth noting that during the primal school I spent all day playing outside. Yet when I was in the 3rd grade ( We have 6 grade primal school in Polad or rather had by the time I went to chool) my sight started to get worse with each year and I still played outside when I was in the 3rd grade. Now, I mentioned my dad has myopia on his left eye and so do I... on the left eye. I think genes are more at play in my case... Thanks dad xD
When I focus on an object the other objects in the background become doubled. Is that normal?
No
Do you mean blurred ?
U should not write sample use only. Otherwise this presentation is awesome

👍👍
em an optometrist by professional
That women in presbyopia part is a bit scary
In myopia does the eye lens expand or get contract
Contract
why we are not aware of blind spot when both eyes are open?
brain covers it up with nearby visual field blind spot is visible then its called baring of blind spot and is a type of scotoma
okay. This video is pretty good and voice is awesome but the sample use only written there is a bit dumb...
